  1. "They've Gotta Beat Us." What did the team learn last year? That they can win without Burrow. More important, they learned to do a few different things in order to win sans Burrow. Some of that stuff will show up as the next part of Burrow's game and the evolution of the offense. And they'll do it without compromising the stuff that Burrow likes to do best--which means we'll still see plenty of shotgun, 4 and 5 wide, etc... . So, they got Moss because he can block and run from the shotgun. They got Gesicki who is Boyd's replacement, imo. They got a tackle who will let Burrow be more comfortable in the pocket and have more time to do his magic. This off-season is about becoming more flexible on offense, imo, and they have done a pretty good job of it --on paper. Not bad moves on the defensive side of the ball, either. So, Fuck Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Baltimore--they've got to beat us.

  3. Hey guys, the last time I was overseas during the NFL Draft was in 1992. When I boarded the plane in Barcelona and was handed a newspaper, that's when I learned that the Bengals had drafted David Klingler. Please, someone, make sure they don't do that again.

  4. Drew Sample engaged in sexual acts with your wife or something? My goodness, let it go dude. He’s perfectly in line with what his salary is and is ultra dependable. That’s something Taylor and the Bengals place value on.

  5. Sample is like the new Justin Smith. If he were drafted later everyone would love him. You all realize these guys have no control over when they get picked, right?

  6. LOL. Comparing Jonah Williams to Trent Brown is laughable. Brown is a WAY better player. Zack Moss is light years better as a pass blocker so we don’t have to take him out on 3rd and 5 situations. Mixon is a terrible pass blocker. There is nothing unresolved about Tee Higgins, he will play under the franchise tag.

  14. Well, the league has never had any problems with rules that involve the "subjectivity of the call", now, has it? I'm confident that every official will see it the same way and call it the same way every play, every game, and that point spreads will, in no way, enter into the decision-making process.

  16. You guys know the rules, so I'm going to keep this simple. Guess the player they pick. Use the name the player is known by. You can do JC Latham, but not A Mims. But spelling isn't important as long as I can figure it out. No bookending. Tie breaker is the pick number for Cade Stover, don't tell me team and round. Your screen name must be included in your guess. An acceptable guess format is: Jason - Amarius Mims - 148 The contest will close for guesses at 9 pm on Sunday April 21 around 9 pm EDT. The prize is any ONE item in the Bengals pro shop up to $50, and I will pay all taxes and standard shipping. Send me a link, and specify size and color if applicable. You must be a Bengals fan and member as of 11 am EDT on 4/13/24. Go-Bengals is not responsible for the outcome or prize. 21. Sorry to the board in advance, but this needs to be done. Weird you say huh? Let’s talk about weird. It’s weird how you say “it’s really not that serious” yet you have how many posts in this thread about this? All repeating the same damn thing. A barrage of them, you and Sparky both. You won’t STFU about it. Constantly bringing Samples salary and worthlessness up and bringing everyone else here down. You think you haven’t made your feelings about it known after this many posts? How much time have you put into those posts for something that’s “not that serious”. Now THAT’S Weird! And I’m the one that needs to get a grip? lol Know what else is weird? Saying that I’m defending someone who doesn’t know me; in Drew Sample, and who I’m inconsequential to yet here you are defending Sparky who we could say the same about with you. Textbook case of the psychological principle that is Projection. Now kindly do everyone a huge favor and STFU about overpaid TEs and how inept the Bengals are and how it’s such a horrible life being a Bengals fan with Mike Brown as the owner and how they don’t know how to do anything right. We get it.

  23. Here's another fun stat: the last time the Bengals weren't top 5 in pass attempt % they went to the Super Bowl. As I've said before a few times myself, he's been expected to hard-carry the offense with a plodder of a RB whose biggest contribution to the team was smiles. We'll see how they call games without him.

  24. Versatility. Played FB at times. He is a huge cog in making the offense go. If you look at blocking TE's like Josh Oliver etc. I think he probably had a market and wanted to stay here. That deal is really just 3M per year not to have to replace our Blockig Te, That's not bad at all.

  26. He's managed one full season in the past 5 years. Based on his average availability it works out to about half a mil per start. Until I know who will be playing RT the 2nd half of the season I'm gonna have to pump the brakes on all that backslapping just a bit.

  27. IMO just seems like a position can CANNOT be weak at, so letting Dax learn is gonna ahve to come in blowouts and spot work, i can specifically remember 2-3 games where we needed one stop to get the ball back with a chance and gave up the play due to a CB or Safety shitting the bed (mainly cheeto) so the depth is great in case on injury and the talent boost is great. sucks for Dax's career trajectory, but we need to get a ring ASAP, so no hard feelings but no time for that right now.

  29. Charlie needs to get stronger, that’s for sure. And I remember the one long pass when he hesitated at the end of the route and that was disappointing. But remember, TB didn’t knock it out of the park starting out… really, his third year was when he broke out… and the crew that he was part of wasn’t as good with Jerome Simpson et al as the one Jones was brought into. No doubt he needs to improve but I’m not ready to say he can’t play, and be a solid contributor. But yeah, obviously this fall will be big for him.

  30. How anyone could defend the utter garbage that Mike Brown and family put on the field for 30 years by pretending the last 4 years was business as usual is laughable. In 33 years, Mike Brown, who INHERITED THE team is 223-303-4. In a league with a real salary cap, that is terrible. The Browns sat back, had the league negotiate every TV deal, every collective bargaining agreement, accepted their cut and didn’t do anything to promote the league. No effort necessary. 5 playoff wins in 33 years, all 5 of them coming in the last 3 years. ACCOMPLISHMENTS GALORE! Are the Walton heirs rocket scientists? Is Trump a genius? Paris Hilton extraordinary? No, they were born into wealth. We got LUCKY. Lucky as hell. Pure luck that Joe Burrow is a generationally great QB and we sucked so bad we had the first pick. Utter fucking luck. Lucky his knee got blown out (a little sarcasm) and we got Chase the next draft. He fell into their lap because the team absolutely sucked. I suffered thru almost 3 decades of shit, screw them. Don’t you remember the 90s and the Carson Palmer era shit show? The Chris Henry saga?

  31. If it’s not a 1st AND another pick, take a hike. Bengals benefit more by having Tee out there playing for them versus giving him up for a day 2 pick who is anything but a sure thing. Tee is a sure thing and I’d rather have him play this year (and maybe next as well) on the tag and get nothing in return down the road then give him up for a day 2 pick.

  33. So let me get this straight... Carolina gave us Vonn Bell and a 6th round draft choice and they are paying his salary to play for us. And they just signed Nik Scott, Are they playing for the first pick in the 2025 draft already? Never too early to tank? Some dumb sumbitches down there, boy howdy.

  34. Hi Tee Higgins Agent, Dumbass. Here's what we are going to do. Tag Tee this year and next. After that, he won't be worth nearly as much as a free agent. So we are going to offer a three year contract that is more per year then the franchise tag pays and a decent, comparable third year on the deal. Good money, job security in a place that loves Tee and shot at playoff and Super Bowl money to boot. Boom! And you can even borrow my pen, if you promise to give it back.

  35. But unless we meet them in the playoffs, we're not even scheduled to play the Bills or Texans this year. We do need to figure out how to beat the rest of the AFC North since that is six games of our schedule.
    4 points
  36. I’m not sure why that would stir anyone up. The Bengals do not match up well with the teams in the North. The teams in the north haven’t had the success in the playoffs the Bengals have had because they can’t throw the football and turn into mush when they get down two scores. The Bengals are content to try and go 3-3 or even 2-4 in the north and dog walk the rest of the league. Might cost them a bye/home field but they’ve beat the Chiefs and Bills on the road so I’m not sure that phases them at all. The moves they’ve made have been to stop explosive pass plays and run their offense out of 11. They are gearing up to beat the Chiefs/Bills/Texans not the Browns/Stealers/Ravens

  38. Again this is MIT Ph D work for football fans. I consider myself a huge Bengals fan but compared to you I'm a small fry. You have to be considered bengals fan of the year for all the work you put in. This is nothing short of phenomenal like all you post here. In my mind I don't believe there is anyone working for the bengals who lays this out as well as you.

  39. In the two years Burrow has finished the year healthy, we have gone to the AFC Championship game. Healthy, this team is not Carolina or the Patsies, its one of the best teams in the league. The League knows that.

  41. My only concern with taking him at #18 is that he's run down only type of player and typically those guys aren't drafted in the first round, if he's there in the 2nd round then, yes, take him. Also, to your point these big guys get worn down as the season goes along, he needs to be apart of a deep rotation. The Eagles drafted Jordan Davis in the top 10 last year and by the end of the season he was useless because he was playing more snaps at a higher level than he had ever played in his life. Yeah, I think he had a medical issue which is why he fell last year and he did end up getting hurt...Brown would be an ideal signing, but pairing him with a first-round rookie RT would be a huge get. Just sign him to a big 1 year deal, similar to Collins, with tons of incentives on playing time. Looks like Karras and Joey B are going back to Ruby's...it's a tough job but those steaks aren't going to eat themselves...lol

  42. Yeah, the Bengals got bullied pretty bad by the teams in our division. That's why I'm all in on prioritizing linemen in this draft. Starts up front.

  43. How the fuck is this felon just allowed to hang out and chill for almost 2 weeks after causing all this vehicular mayhem? If it were me the cops would've busted into my house and dragged me out by the dick and thrown me into the back of a squad car the next fucking morning.

  44. To be clear there are absolutely things I do not like. Investment groups should not be allowed to buy homes, that is a HUGE part of the problem with the cost of housing, not to mention we need to be building more houses to drive prices down. It has been shown that 50% if the inflation numbers are coming from what is basically "greedflation" or corporations price gouging, Biden has done nothing to address that.
