  1. Yeah I get that, I'm not with the "oh well fuck that guy" stuff either. I assumed he was gone when they drafted Chase & while it's been nice having two players that'd be WR1 on most teams, it's a luxury I don't think we can afford. A healthy DJ Reader under contract, a solid OL with the majority of them on rookie deals, yeah maybe it makes sense. Where they're sitting though, I see an extra early draft pick or 2 plus $25M off the books as more value for this team, To put that a different way, I think Higgins is worth more to other teams than he is to the Bengals. If that's the case it makes sense to capitalize on it while they can.
  2. A lot easier to find an extra WR than an OT or NT.
  3. I mean, I was already on Team TradeHim before he said anything so Nothing against Tee just too many roster holes to worry much about a WR2.
  4. Well that was ill-advised. They're not going to win a "Who can be the most stubborn & petty?" contest against Ol' Musty.
  5. Wonder if this makes DB in the first round more likely...
  6. 48 is not 10% of 265. I'm not great at math but that's an easy one.
  7. Unless the cap went up to $500M that doesn't make sense.
  8. Then how are they reportedly $50-60M under even after franchising Tee? Last chart I saw claimed they had the 5th most cap space of any team. That's not $10M.
  9. Hold up, when have the Bengals been at or near 90% of the salary cap?
  10. OK but is he better than Karras? This thing where we should sign guys because they used to hold Joe up for kegstands back in college doesn't really hold much weight.
  11. Considering the big news so far is bringing back Cody Ford like he wouldn't have still been hanging around in the parking lot come November should they need him... I am not optimistic.
  12. Cool we get it, you don't care what he does so long as he's a very average RB in a Bengals uniform. I'm sure you'll be getting a Xmas card.
  13. NM the road rage incident, his felon BIL shot a kid with Mixon's AK for having a Nerf fight on his suburban lawn. Apparently he was able to buy his way out of trouble there but holy shit.. And then the team's reaction of "he smiles a lot" was just so incredibly tone-deaf and disconnected, I don't know if I'll ever understand it. So OK, let's say for the sake of argument he's actually an All-Pro RB and an absolute tank at blocking but they just don't want him to do it & everything is the OL's fault. He gave his felon BIL an AK with which to shoot a kid for having a Nerf fight on his suburban lawn. This guy is a team captain? I don't know what that says about their locker room but it's not anything good.
  14. I can't see anyone giving up a 4th rounder or anything else of value for some picks at the bottom of the 6th.
  15. No reason they can't make it happen with the amount of cap space they're sitting on. They're not going to have Pro Bowlers at every position but they can at least avoid making draft picks out of desperation.
  16. The irony of that string of posts is really something. This country is so fucked. Weird how a nation founded by a bunch of slave owners seems to rely on an uneducated underclass to function. Unfortunately for this status quo white supremacy is a dead end. We can have that or a long term future. We're not going to have both.
  17. This is why I'd be OK with trading Higgins. Extra couple picks and $25M or so off the books gives them an opportunity to refresh the roster. WR is also one of the few positions where they've built some kind of depth. I don't think they've exactly got a replacement for him, but they don't need one. There are guys who have shown they can make plays when given the opportunity. Absolutely crucial offseason & I don't think they can afford to wait on FA until after the draft.
  18. Think once again they've got to do both. Right now they don't have the roster depth for long term success.
  19. We're talking about people who use their supposed faith as a weapon, it gives them free reign to hate. They love Trump for the same reason, an excuse to blame some marginalized "other" for all their problems.
  20. Because he hasn't played a full healthy season in many years, much like that last Cowboy RT. I know dude was an All-Pro before that but it won't help us from the bench. So yeah, I'd prefer someone we can actually count on to suit up every week even if they're a lesser player overall.
  21. Well hey JB dragged one sorry-ass OL to a Superbowl, I'm sure he can do it again.. probably. Right? They need that $75M in cap space for.. reasons.
  22. We already did the aging, injury-prone Cowboys washout at RT. Didn't go well.
  23. You're assuming that by not spending the money on Higgins they will reinvest it on other players. Also the cap just went up, more than enough to cover his franchise tag. This means they are still top 5 in cap space. Do you think they're going to approach free agency like a team with $50-60m to spend, or do you think we're due another press release about how they did the math and actually need to borrow ohhhh about $3.50?
