I went to nearly every Toledo football game this year, and if we happened to cut warrick i would love to see the bengals draft Lance Moore late in the draft or maybe even sign him as a free agent...

In 2003 he led the nation with 103 receptions and close to 1200 yards and last year he had close to 1200 yards and 14 touchdowns. He resembles peter warrick in his size and strengths. He is pretty fast like warrick and could possibly be a kick return too.

Highlights
Listed at No. 1 at wide receiver in preseason depth chart...Listed as candidate for the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top wide receiver...Listed at No. 15 among nation's return men by Sporting News...Ranked as MAC's fourth-best player by Lindy's.

He is 5'11'' which is the same height as peter warrick, and he ran the 40 in 4.46

The only thing he truly lacks is strength and size, but i believe he can make that up with the Bengals strength trainers and could be a solidly replacement for warrick and slot reciever

Lance Moore, Toledo WR
5'9 177 4.46
Strengths: Was extremely productive for the Rockets...Has very good hands...Runs good routes...Does all the little things...Is tough and competitive...Quick but speed is only average for his size...Is also an excellent return man.

Weaknesses: Lacks the size you look for...Needs to get stronger...Stats were inflated by Toledo's wide open offensive scheme...Upside is limited due to his size and is likely a backup at best.

Notes: Great little college receiver whose pro potential is limited by his size...Will get a shot thanks to his impressive numbers and intangibles...Could be a solid backup and special teams player in the pros.

Kinda small

I think he is a white guy with Dreadlocks.... For that alone we should sign him as an undrafted free agent

I'm not a fan of Broussard...Although I can't honestly say why. Perhaps it just seemed like everyone jumped on his bandwagon too fast last year.

I do like what I've read about Moore, and I think he could surpise and turn into a guy like Steve Smith (including the PR/KR role). I don't think Smith could be more than 5'10, and he was clutch for the Panthers two years ago.

This thread is funny, this guy isn't close to being in the same class as Warrick. Warrick would've won the Heismann coming out of college if he didn't get it that clothing scandal, this kid isn't even the best reciever in the MAC. If you seriously want a wr to replace Warrick in this years draft then Mark Clayton from Oklahoma is your man. He's got the shifty moves like Warrick and he's got great hands. Mark Clayton

I think people are taking Warrick for granted, having not seen him play since 2003, with Carson he should regain his college form and return to the Peter Warrick we all fell in love with at FSU. If TJ can put those types of numbers, imagine what P-Dub can do!!! No disrespect to TJ because he made some great plays, I'm just exciting to see what they can do together, I think it's going to be special.

Great post...That is the receiver I could realistically see the Bengals drafting. He is pretty much a Warrick clone. In my opinion he will make the easiest transition to the pro game if he lands on the right team. Many mocks have him going to Baltimore where he will get alot more attention than he would here and would have Boller throwing him the ball. I don't think he will turn out to be the best of this year's receiving corp but is the most polished (route-running, hands, smarts).

He might have looked white in that picture but i am pretty sure he is black in real life...and he is the best WR in the MAC and could be a solid number 4 WR if Washington and TJ play solid
We could get this guy for like 1/8 the price we are paying warrick

PS BG SUCKS

You get what you pay for, for an 1/8th of the price you'll get an 1/8th of the quality of player. I know the kid went to your school and everything, but to say he can replace Warrick is a little much. Warrick isn't a bum, he's easily the 2nd best wr on our team, just wait until the season starts.

I dont think he should "replace" warrick. Im saying if we need to cut warrick for one reason or another, i think this kid could step right in and be a solid slot WR. And also have you never seen a high round draft pick that gets paid jack shit in his first couple years turn into a start? Hmm lets see...Tom brady, Zach Thomas, Terrell Davis, just to name a few...all im saying is if we need to cut warrick for cap room, this kid could be a nice fit

Not to rain on your parade about Moore but a player that size ( and he is very small )...has to have blazing speed...If he cant run a sub 4.4 then I doubt any team would be very interested in him.....free agent looksee imo...

Agreed, I think Jerome Mathis has those intangibles. Same size as Moore and he's quicker, just need to work on his hands.....

I played football and basketball with Lance in high school. The dude is the ultimate worker and would be a huge asset to the team. I haven't talked to him in a few months but I know he has a home in Columbus and lives here during the off season. He is the type of guy who produces even though he is lacking in some measurables.

Moore would be a good pickup for any team. He works hard and has earned Brees' trust. He has a streak of something like 5 games in a row with TDs. He's from Westerville, a Columbus suburb and there was a story in the Dispatch a week or two ago comparing him with Braylon Edwards. Moore was in the Browns camp the year they drafted Edwards but was cut.
