!!!! BENGALS @ RAVENS GAME THREAD!!!!

Recommended Posts

I would assume Pacman starting means that Clements will be the slot corner in nickel packages since Jennings and Adam are both more comfortable on the outside.

Losing Leon hurts. I want nothing to do with these two guys on Q. He's absolutely filthy.

Green and Lewis out; Adam Jones starts; Dunlap goes

By GEOFF HOBSON

Posted 45 minutes ago

BALTIMORE — Hours of angst and antipation ended when Ravens middle linebacker Ray Lewis and Bengals rookie wide receiver A.J. Green were officially declared out of Sunday's game at M&T Bank Stadium.

And it is believed Green's status for next Sunday's game against the Browns at Paul Brown Stadium isn't a given. Although there has been no structural damage to the right knee he hyperextended last week, the Bengals don't want to get any if he comes back too early. The club's thinking seems to be that one or two games in the middle of a playoff chase isn't worth a long-term knee problem for a player it views as a franchise staple for the next decade.

Meanwhile, Bengals cornerback Adam Jones bounded onto the field with a shout for Sunday's warmups. He was listed as probable after practicing Thursday and Friday and he got the start. It is his first snap from scrimmage in 13 months since his only other start as a Bengal back on Oct. 24, 2010, the day he suffered a herniated neck disc.

Andre Caldwell gets the start in place of Green at wide receiver and left endCarlos Dunlap, the club's best pass rusher who missed last week's game with a hamstring injury, is active.
Also on the Bengals inactive list were offensive linemen Anthony Collins andClint Boling, wide receiver Ryan Whalen, and linebacker Dontay Moch as well as tight end Donald Lee, out for a second straight game with a foot problem.

The Ravens sidelined wide receiver David Reed after he fumbled two kickoffs in last week's loss to Seattle and rookie receiver Torrey Smith is expected to replace him on at least a few kicks.

Seemed like Caldwell had a pretty good game last year too....wasn't that one of the last two games last year where both guys lit it up?

Yeah, but as for both Simpson and Caldwell, their huge days were partly a part of getting Carson's accurate long balls, something AD hasn't proven himself with. I think it's a matter of time, and hope it's today, but...

Either way, gotta use those TE's!

I'm most concerned about Lee Evans. They now have two guys who can really go deep, and Boldin is still there. I think Clements should match up on Boldin.

Today's inactives for Bengals at Ravens game:

BENGALS: WR A.J. Green, S Robert Sands, LB Dontay Moch, G Clint Boling, OT Anthony Collins, TE Donald Lee and WR Ryan Whalen.

Adam Jones will start in place of Leon Hall (injured reserve) at cornerback instead of Kelly Jennings. Andre Caldwell replaces Green at WR.

RAVENS: WR-KR David Reed, WR Tandon Doss, CB Chykie Brown, RB Anthony Allen, LB Ray Lewis, OLB Sergio Kindle, DT Arthur Jones.

Dannell Ellerbe starts in place of Ray Lewis at ILB. WR Lee Evans (ankle) is active for the first time since Week 2.

I'm more worried about Smith, personally. NFL network was showing film of him putting double moves on DB's this year and he was killing it. Good thing he's got hands of stone sometimes.

Jones on smith, Clements on boldin and Jennings on Evans
We will probably see a lot of zone coverage from here on out with Hall gone. Hopefully the pressure Dunlap brings will soften the blow of losing him to IR
