Josh Freeman Signs with the VIKINGS

Couple of obvious problems with this "relief QB" concept:

1. The QB is already one of the highest-paid players on most (if not all) teams.  You're going to ask them to take a 40-50% pay cut so they can split time with someone?

2. A lot of teams don't have one good QB, let alone two. A good backup will go get starter money somewhere else.

Not sure I follow? Teams with running qbs using the read option are going to bring in other running qbs for 10 snaps a game?

Yeah. The main fall out with that offense is the hit they are subjected too.

They'll do it to reduce hits and keep the advantage of the offense

I still think any success in a scheme like that is destined to be a flash in the pan. No chance at sustained success ala Bradys, Mannings, or Brees' run. You said it yourself, risk of injury is to high. Add in that winning a Superbowl or CCG at any point will inflate the value of both of your injury prone QBs to the point where they will demand far more money than their arm deserves. I hope other teams toil with this, because it gives organizations like us a better chance year in and year out.
