Why Pork is Haram (not permissible) in Islam ~ 15 Things You Should Know About Pigs:

1) A pig is a real garbage gut. It will eat anything including urine, excrement, dirt, decaying animal flesh, maggots, or decaying vegetables. They will even eat the cancerous growths off other pigs or animals.

2) The meat and fat of a pig absorbs toxins like a sponge. Their meat can be 30 times more toxic than beef or venison.

3) When eating beef or venison, it takes 8 to 9 hours to digest the meat so what little toxins are in the meat are slowly put into our system and can be filtered by the liver. But when pork is eaten, it takes only 4 hours to digest the meat. We thus get a much higher level of toxins within a shorter time.

4) Unlike other mammals, a pig does not sweat or perspire. Perspiration is a means by which toxins are removed from the body. Since a pig does not sweat, the toxins remain within its body and in the meat.

5) Pigs and swine are so poisonous that you can hardly kill them with strychnine or other poisons.

6) Farmers will often pen up pigs within a rattlesnake nest because the pigs will eat the snakes, and if bitten they will not be harmed by the venom.

7) When a pig is butchered, worms and insects take to its flesh sooner and faster than to other animal's flesh. In a few days the swine flesh is full of worms.

8) Swine and pigs have over a dozen parasites within them, such as tapeworms, flukes, worms, and trichinae. There is no safe temperature at which pork can be cooked to ensure that all these parasites, their cysts, and eggs will be killed.

9) Pig meat has twice as much fat as beef. A 3 oz T bone steak contains 8.5 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork chop contains 18 grams of fat. A 3 oz beef rib has 11.1 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork spare rib has 23.2 grams of fat.

10) Cows have a complex digestive system, having four stomachs. It thus takes over 24 hours to digest their vegetarian diet causing its food to be purified of toxins. In contrast, the swine's one stomach takes only about 4 hours to digest its foul diet, turning its toxic food into flesh.

11) The swine carries about 30 diseases which can be easily passed to humans. This is why God commanded that we are not even to touch their carcase (Leviticus 11:8).

12) The trichinae worm of the swine is microscopically small, and once ingested can lodge itself in our intestines, muscles, spinal cord or the brain. This results in the disease trichinosis. The symptoms are sometimes lacking, but when present they are mistaken for other diseases, such as typhoid, arthritis, rheumatism, gastritis, MS, meningitis, gall bladder trouble, or acute alcoholism.

13) The pig is so poisonous and filthy, that nature had to prepare him a sewer line or canal running down each leg with an outlet in the bottom of the foot. Out of this hole oozes pus and filth his body cannot pass into its system fast enough. Some of this pus gets into the meat of the pig.

14) According to Jewish law, pork is one of a number of foods forbidden from consumption by Jews. These foods are known as "non-kosher" foods. In order for a meat to be kosher, it must first come from a kosher animal. A kosher animal must be a ruminant and have split hooves - therefore cows, sheep, goats and deer are all kosher, whereas camels and pigs (having each only one sign of kashrut) are not kosher.

15) Quran, Holy book of Muslims also prohibits consumption of pork.

"He has made unlawful for you that which dies of itself and blood and the flesh of swine and that on which the name of any other than Allah has been invoked. But he who is driven by necessity, being neither disobedient nor exceeding the limit, then surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful." Quran 2:173

I cannot understand why anyone would eat it. You might as well vacuum all day and then take the vacuum bag and make a nice soup out of it.

" Of course our Creator has given us the health laws through the Holy Quran and not eating pigs is even CLEARLY mentioned in the Bible (Leviticus 11:07)

But some humans think they are more intelligent than the Creator so they choose...

These two are the only ones that are actually true from your list. Well, it's also true that pigs don't sweat but that doesn't make them poisonous. If pigs were poisonous all of us Gentiles would be dead. As far as the quoted goes, these religious "laws" were put into place to make people fear eating pork because back in the day trichinosis was once a big deal...it's also why among the people that do eat pork, it was always supposed to be "well done"...and that isn't true anymore either. There are actual laws that prohibit the feeding of garbage meat to pigs, which has almost eliminated trichinosis from America.

Oh, and it's also true that pigs will eat just about anything. But so will goats. And goats are yummy too. Don't you like goat cheese?

This applies to you right here lol

Also, I obviously don't eat pork but I do manage a steakhouse now and I can tell you that we have to cook that shit well done! Never can we serve that Shit any other way.

Well yeah, because people will send it back. I've had medium cooked pork loin or chops at several high end restaurants. It's no more risky than eating a rare steak or sushi. It's all about having a chef that knows his food and his purveyors.

I chief on occasion but hardly ever drink. Trying to be done with that.

It smells like shit and looks like shit. I don't want to get it honestly.

Don't you also have premarital sex? And didn't you have a divorce? Has your meat been slaughtered to properly observe Dhabihah?

Seems to me not eating pork is just about the only thing Halal you actually adhere to, so please don't cite "the will of god" when shaving your finger at others about eating bacon.

Lucid, calm down. I'm not pointing the finger at anyone. I saw this article and decided to share it because people have asked me why do you not eat pork and I told them religious reasons. So when I saw that I shared it. I'm not the most religious person. Yes I drank, yes I had sex before marriage. BTW, divorce isn't against our religion. I do apologize because I did lie but I was being sarcastic because like backer said I did mention it before so I thought you guys knew that already. I had pepperoni once in my life and truthfully my friend told me it was beef but it wasn't. We had the munchies and I did like it at the time but I would have liked anything then too. So there it is.

I reread my post and realized it comes off much harsher than I intended.. It's a problem of mine, but I don't know how to fix it without sounding all fucking flowers and rainbows and shit, so I truly am sorry about that.

Anyway, I have several friends who observe this particular aspect if Halal or Kosher but nothing else. and I am always giving them a hard time about it.. I think it's the easiest thing to do and claim adherence.. Kind of a cop-out.  But I do have to remind them when they get all "it's forbidden by god" about it because seriously, I think if you asked God which he cared about more, Bacon or Zina, somehow I doubt he's more pissed about the bacon.

For your sake, yes.. Although I think I might be in the deficit with that department..

Aw well. If God cares much about moral excess (partying, screwing, eating bacon) I'm pretty well fucked anyway.

Good thing I think Jaweh was a sham and place my faith in Nirvana.

:D

i find the red slime beef issue in the country far far more concerning than anything on that pig list.. and after the 6 months it took me to get over the fact that there are like mites or something like live in  my eyelash sockets and feed off the sleep goo from your eyes i am not too turned off by the nasty bugs in things.. they are in and on everything.. banana spiders and shit..

my red meat intake has dropped about 50% but mostly because of everything i eat WITH red meat also being extra horrible for me..

i work next to a Sprouts now, so my life is getting slightly healthier...

but bacon is so motherfucking delicious...

I have a problem with pork because I have issues slaughtering and eating a creature that is at least as intelligent as some people I work with.  Hell, my meat intake is practically non-existent anymore because I have serious issues with how animals are treated and slaughtered.

Except for chickens, because chickens are assholes.

But even then I try to make sure they're organic\no antibiotic\blahblahblah.

No judgment or finger pointing mind you, it's just that when I changed my diet I evaluated everything about, well, everything I eat, and felt I was being a screaming hypocrite about what I consumed.  Therefore, I can no longer in good conscience eat another creature that displays a personality or empathy.

But yeah, the whole religious prohibition of pork = no one knew about trichinosis...

Leviticus is some strange stuff.

Old buddy on Facebook went into this tirade about eating shellfish. Other people chimed in and said "Jesus said anything from the Father is ok to eat", he came back with "how dare you defy the word of God, it still applies".

The older I get, the more goofy organized religion seems.

@Elflocko - I too have a problem with the way animals are treated. I wish I had the willpower that you do.

I'm in the same boat with the animal treatment people but I eat the heck out of them, which definitely makes me a hypocrite. I have trouble fishing because I feel bad for the worms and minnows I have to kill. Makes no sense... guess I hide behind the deli and meat department at the store. Doesn't look like a live animal so I guess it's not. As hypocritical as it is, I will never stop eating meat. Makes me feel good; like I've ingested the animal's soul.

I'm a fish guy; salmon, tilapia, crab, clams, shrimp, lobster, scallops, tuna, cod... basically anything from salt water that's in a store except for trout. Is trout fresh water? It tastes of shit regardless. What about cod?

In the last couple weeks, I've only had pork maybe 10 times. Beef maybe once or twice, fish about 5 times, and chicken or turkey basically every day, often more than once.

How does one do that? ;)

Also Rumble has eaten beef bacon when he was in DC and we had breakfast at a diner here by his hotel, just no pork.
