Go Skins
http://www.wtop.com/109/3668800/House-Republican-suggests-giving-DC-back-to-Md WASHINGTON (AP) -- A House Republican who chairs a subcommittee overseeing the District of Columbia is suggesting giving most of the District back to Maryland and "possibly" getting rid of the local government. Rep. John Mica of Florida made the comments to WTTG-TV (http://tinyurl.com/nwc3drs ) after Wednesday's ceremonial groundbreaking with Donald Trump for a luxury hotel downtown. Asked about President Barack Obama's support for District statehood, Mica said: "The president must be spending too much time in Colorado, because you'd have to be high to think that Congress or anyone else is going to support making the District of Columbia the 51st state." Imagine if a Democratic congressman had made the same sort of crack about Bush snorting coke.
|kennethmw|
Imagine if a Democratic congressman had made the same sort of crack about Bush snorting coke. Bush would have said "Coke? Where? Put out an alert for Johnny football, I need a professional dollar roller!'"
T-Dub
Bush would have said "Coke? Where? Put out an alert for Johnny football, I need a professional dollar roller!'" Ha! Perhaps. Just something I've noticed - a general disrespect for the office. I don't know how many times I've heard him referred to as "Mr Obama" instead of "President".
