Jeremy Hill - Notes From camp today..

Recommended Posts

Watched some Jeremy Hill today at camp. this guy is very fast. I forgot until it was over that the camera has HD Video recording.. so I will take some short videos of drills tomorrow if people care to see them.

He looks like he belongs at this level, no hesitation just 100% all the time all the way.

For the first time in many years i didnt know all of the new guys numbers they chose so he caught my eye before i realized it was Hill.

Guy is fast, strong, and not very big (like he isnt a big slow back like Rudi was).

This guy and Bernard are a nasty ass duo..

I will toss some pics in this thread once i get them cropped...

also he is SUPER nice, friendly, talked to fans, signed autographs, he signed an official NFL football for me, signed both of my kids hats..

here is one from my phone:

Hill is the real fucking deal. Cut benjarvus and unleash him and gio if we want to actually show that we are serious. Benjarvus has no fucking business being on the field with his crappy 1yard per carry games

BJGE would be fine, better than fine, on a team with a regular vertical passing attack (like the pats in the past), a team stretching the defense.. he cant go up against 8 in the box.. he isnt that dude... and we arent that offense..

Great to hear about Hill. He looks lighter than in college to me at least

must admit i havent seen him play in college much...

just one of those dudes who you can tell isnt camp fodder...

really REALLY eager to see him in action in the preseason...

He did look good today.  Wilder did as well, but, man, he sure does run straight up.  I'll give you an overview of what I saw tomorrow.

I really like Wilder.  Wonder if they could work on him getting lower.  I know he's a big boy, though.

Doesn't he weigh more than Rudi did?  Rudi was like 225 lbs (I think), he's like 232 lbs

But, but, I was told by some what an awful person Hill is and what a wasted pick it was because of that. And yet you say he was awesome with the fans and talented to boot? It's almost like the bengals had done their homework or something....

Rudi may have been relatively slow but he absolutely punished defenses.   Chad & that offense in general wouldn't have been what it was without Rudi beating the crap out of the safeties all day.

Hill is supposed to be a "physical" runner - the NFL's recent bubble-wrapped code word for hard-hitting or general asskicking. "Physical defense" and all that noise. I'm sure they'll come up with something even more marshmallow-y soon enough.

Anyway, Hill's "nonthreatening toughness" won't be on display until they are in pads, but it's good that he's standing out in drills as a rookie.

Are they going to put out a schedule as to what sort of practice will be going down every day? Or have they already? I haven't been to a TC in years, but it'd be cool to make a practice before its over.

if he is, he doesnt look it at all.  rudi weight on wiki is listed at 225 jeremy hill on google at 236..

then again rudi was 5'10" and hill is 6'2"..

kinda wonder if rudi's posted weight is a slight fib.. having met rudi a few times, i dont think there is any chance he was 225...

but perhaps thats the height thing.. 4 inch difference is significant.

exactly, he runs like HE wants to hit you, like Benson ran against the Bears for us...

i wish they were in pads..

I thought right away looking at his highlight tapes the day of the draft he looks like Corey Dillon.  He's patient picking his hole and when he does he smashes it almost like he wants to hit someone.  With Gio in to share carries, he has the potential to rack up huge numbers in the 4th quarter against teams that may be tired from the up-tempo offense and Gio's speed.  It sets up the ability to go over the top to TE's and attack the middle of the field.  They look to potentially be a better verision of Brooks and Woods.
