Kevin Vickerson?

Recommended Posts

Hadn't seen that reported anywhere, when did this happen?

Slow to recover from a dislocated hip that sidelined him down the stretch in 2013, Vickerson was unable to fend off free agent Marvin Austin, a former second-round pick who had a stellar camp after undergoing back surgery late last year, and Mitch Unrein, whos younger, cheaper, healthier and more versatile.

We owe Vick a lot, Elway said. He played well when he was here.

Vickerson said he felt fine after playing 39 snaps in the Broncos preseason finale, where he had five tackles. Hes played in 71 NFL games with Denver (2010-13), Tennessee (2007-09) and Miami (2005-06) in addition to a season in the old NFL Europe.

I would guess this means Vickerson either takes Bilukidi's spot or someone (Porter, Burkhead, Jones?) goes on IR return. I like the move to add a veteran with some size and some nastiness. It makes sense to do it after cutting Still. Once they got him back on the practice squad, Bilukidi becomes expendable and they were probably surprised Vickerson was available. As long as he can stay healthy, heis no doubt an upgrade.

Yeah...like I said....http://www.cincyjungle.com/2014/9/2/6097905/kevin-vickerson-joining-cincinnati-bengals

It looked like the Bengals and Kevin Vickerson had agreed to a deal, but something may have changed.

Good call. He's old anyways so fuck em.

Mike Klis from the Denver Post is reporting the Bengals want to wait to sign Vickerson since he is a vested veteran. Makes sense to be cautious since he is coming off hip surgery and isn't exactly young at 31. Reading some of the news and comments regarding his release, many Broncos fans were surprised and held Vickerson in high regard. Seemed like it was a case of Denver wanting to go with a younger, cheaper option at DT and dumping a little salary ( around $2 million). It seems like he is OK health -wise and there were no issues with him passing our physical. The concern is that someone else might poach him before next week.

This guy is pretty damn good. I think nobody was expecting this move and we pounced first. Gonna suck for someone who thought they were on the 53.
