Who are we going to release?

Recommended Posts

Adam Jones has more heart than just about anyone on the team. He is a gamer. He will get in your face during the game if he thinks you're not playing where you should be.

And sometimes he might even be right!

He's an ok CB but if he's the veteran leadership on your team you've got problems

Sleeper: Pacman Jones

I think Pacman makes $1.5 million this final year of his contract.  I feel he is one of the few Bengals who outplays his contract.  He isn't going anywhere this year.  Next year as a free agent he might want a last big contract.  The issue for him is he considered "rehabilitated" enough for a team to make a run for him.

It's crazy talk to talk about cutting anyone on this roster at the moment. They don't need the money.

But there are players who aren't living up to their contracts. After this season we have a bunch of free agents. So it makes sense to pay the money to the guys who produce, not the check collectors.

And they will have that opportunity as the offseason progresses. There are no major bonuses or concerns with the cap that would require that decision to be made now.

Sleeper? Sleepers have a chance, even if outside to be cut, Adam led the league in return yards last season, you might make an argument for him to take a lesser role at CB for the young guys coming up, but there is ZERO chance you cut a league leader in return yards.

No, he didn't lead the league in return yards last season. He wasn't 2nd either.

Jacoby Jones was also ahead of him for total return yards. Something just happened to him the other day...I can't remember what it was though..

Furthermore, Devin Hester (who actually led the league in return yards this season) also finished #1 in 2013. The Bears informed him that they had no intentions of re-signing him.

In 2012, Josh Cribbs finished 1st in PR yards and 3rd in KR yards (totaling more than Pacman had last season). He was released the following March.

Darius Reynaud led all returners in yards in 2012. he was released a few games into 2013.
