N if L video ... What if Bengals had drafted Kap instead? (from NFL.com)

Recommended Posts

Kaepernick needed a big running game to make him effective.  Bengals never had that.

My thoughts exactly, last year was the first time Dalton had a running game to lean on that was ranked above mid-20's.  It didn't help as much as I would've hoped but also feel like we ended up in the top 10 almost by accident with Hill.  I expect a more versatile ground game this season that will use Gio, Rex, Hewitt and whoever else in a shifting backfield.

Yeah and Andy Dalton needed AJ Green to be effective.  How do you know Kaep wouldn't have flourished with AJ green as his #1 over a very average Michael Crabtree?

On January 5th 2014, Kaepernick went to Green Bay with a -10 wind chill, and with 10 minutes left in the game the 49ers were down by 4.  He responded by moving the ball 63 yards in 1:30 to take the lead by personally  running and throwing the ball.  When GB tied it, he engineered a 5 min, 65 yard drive which forced GB to burn their remaining time outs and set up the game winning field goal with 3 seconds left in the game.  The leading rusher in that game was Colin Kaepernick, not Gore or even Eddy Lacy.    On that very same day, Andy Dalton shit his pants at home against the San Diego Chargers.

The year before that he ass raped the Packer defense with 444 yards of total offense and 4 tds.

Dalton has never shown the ability to play huge in games like this, Kaepernick has.

Kaepernick is a a riverboat gambler who knows how to go for the throat. Andy is a youth counselor at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp.

Given the last season, St. Colin is rolling snake eyes and may need to call for gambling counseling.

That entire 49ers franchise imploded last season. Hardly on Kaep. This franchise would be in a very different place if we drafted him. Man oh man

So what is the excuse going to be this season for him?

(insert predictable Andy non-sequitur)

Really?  His stats were almost a carbon copy of Andy's last year except less ints and more yards rushing which means he still had a higher passer rating and QBR.  He doesn't have a true #1 receiver rather he has 2 very good possession receivers who are not deep threats.    The result was Vernon Davis was covered by safties every game.

Gore wasn't as good as Hill last year as he is slowing down after 11000 yards plus rushing in his career.

That said, his 4-2 playoff record which includes 11 TDs (7 passing, 4 rushing) vs 5 ints to go along with his career playoff rating of 87.3 is still a deal breaker.

I would say the problem there is guys started to get old and their coach was being a total douche the last season.  They had a very nice window and almost pulled it off against Baltimore in what was a damn good Superbowl but at some point you gotta reload.  Its hard to say they imploded...they were 8-8 in the hardest division in football and didn't get to feast on the NFC South.

No Kaepernick isn't great but he shows flashes of utter brilliance at times in big games.

Look, you and SF are the ones ready to crown his ass, not me.

And so all of a sudden, it's "team" it? Convenient.

Should I post his numbers in the playoffs, or did you already see them? Kaep has proven himself in ways that Andy sure as fuck hasn't. Once again, stop playing dumb.

Or are you just not playing anymore.

In context of the video.   I would crown Kap over Dalton at this point in their career.

The video done in fun and isn't that far from the truth.

The question  I have is why is are you so upset about a video from NFL.com suggesting the Bengals with a change of QB COULD HAVE won a Superbowl?  How horrible!

This is the Cincinnati Bengals and not the Cincinnati Daltons in case you forgot.  Like it or not there is a legit argument that can be made about the Bengals lack of post season success  traces back to them not having a play making QB which Kap has proven to be at SF in the post season.

All of sudden?   This video speaks to the core of the argument from day 1.   The QB position holding the "team" back.

Andy Dalton is not a victim of the Cincinnati Bengals.    You don't win 40 games in 4 seasons with an 80 Something rated QB and almost nil TO ratio without talent.

The collection of talent currently assembled on the Riverfront has not achieved post season success mostly due to the failures of the Head Coach and QB.

The only weakness of the video is suggesting Kap could have overcome Marvin Lewis in the post season.

I was tired of this game before mega threads.

But if you want to crown him, then crown his ass.

Oh I don't want to crown him, maybe make him a prince and give him the Provence of Indian Hill  or Mason to control for the true king.  The crown is only for the likes of Sir Aaron of Rodgers or Sir Andrew of Luck.   Sir Andy of Dalton can have Middletown.

I don't think CK is great but he has shown the ability to put the team on his shoulders offensively in huge games.   He certainly has his flaws and make questionable plays far too often but then he throws a 40 yard frozen rope over the middle of the field or busts off a 35 yard run to put the team in field goal range.

Two separate posts to troll one comment?

Doth the Teacher overbear the Pupil?

Respectfully,

The Cincinnati Daltons

Heaven forbid that NFL.com make a video for fun showing the Bengals as Superbowl champs with Kap at QB.

Oh,  I guess that's trolling.   We can't discuss the Bengals winning a Superbowl on this board because it offends a segment of members of this board that consistently choose their internet pride over the team that this board is dedicated too?

What a shame.
