My Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

1. EZEKIEL ELLIOTT RB-OHIO STATE - Elliott is by far the best RB talent to come into the NFL since Adrian Peterson and if he's still on the board at 24 I would hope the Bengals would draft him, I don't care who is on the roster. Hill is regressing and Gio is not a between the tackles runner. Elliott can be the workhouse back that this franchise can ride to a SuperBowl, he's that damn good. He probably won't be available at this pick but if so I hope they draft him, he's special. Option #2:Jeremy Cash DB DUKE, a versatile play maker that can play both CB or S. With so many free agents in the secondary I can see us going there early and often in the draft this year, like always. Cash is just that, money in the bank. Can't miss pick that could go much higher than this.

2.JOSH DOCTSON WR-TCU - Probably will be gone by this pick but this my fantasy so please play along. Doctson is a straight baller, dude was torching the competition before he broke his wrist in early November. Reminds me a lot of AJ Green, but is more aggressive going after the ball in the air. Could easily be a first round pick, dude is a beast. Option#2: SHELDON RANKINS DT-LOUISVILLE- Short and compact but powerful DT that uses his heavy hands to play solid run defense. Could easily go higher depending on how he performs at the Senior Bowl and combine.

3.JOE SCHOBERT OLB-WISCONSIN - A pass rushing LB specialist that is a worker, he finished his career at UW with 149 tackles, 30.5 TFL's, 13.5 sacks, 6 FF, and 12 BPUs. I would love to see what our coaching staff could do with this guy, I think he's going to be a productive NFL player. Option#2:MILES KILLEBREW SS/OLB-SOUTHERN UTAH - A small school sleeper that has productivity at a small school but can play with the big boys. At 6'3 230 lbs Killebrew is big enough to play OLB in a similar role as Manny Lemur but can also play safety. He's an unknown now but by draft day he could easily be a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

4.KEVON SEYMOUR CB-SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - A long and rangy corner at 6'0 190lbs that play the physical bump and run man to man style that our DC's scheme likes to employ. Option#2: BLAKE MARTINEZ ILB - STANFORD: Martinez has the size and production that you want from a big school player, but he's not the most athletic player available in the draft. I like him because he's dependable, smart, and a good football player. He might not wow scouts in the combine or personal workouts but when it's time to play the game this guy shines.

5. SEAN DAVIS S/CB - MARYLAND UNIVERSITY: Davis is a tackling machine that can line up in the slot or at safety, he's also athletic enough to play CB in nickel or dime situations. He isn't scared to hit and is a great tackler, racking up over 200 tackles in his career. Option#2: D.j. READER DT CLEMSON: Reader is a dancing bear, this 6-3 340lb mountain of a man is a multi-sports star that hurt his draft stock by sitting out over half of the season for "personal reasons". Reader returned to help his team to the National Championship but the damage is done. Getting Reader at this point would be a steal, he's going to be a dynamic pro, imo.

6.JOE SCHMIDT ILB-NOTRE DAME: A former walk on player that was named team MVP in 2014. Schmidt isn't the most athletically gifted player but he's always in the right place, gets other lined up correctly, and is a great teammate. He can be a ST captain and quality reserve LB, something every team needs. Option#2: ANTONIO MORRISON LB - UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA: Morrison is an undersized LB with injury concerns that plays an intense brand of football, he's the tone-setter type of player that every defense needs. If Morrison can convince teams he's healthy and he can put on weight he could easily be a 2nd or 3rd round pick based on his production and game tape because he's a beast.

7. BPA

I agree with this sentiment 150%.....it's time to move on from JHill.

After that fumble, it's probably best for everyone involved to go in a different direction, so they might as well just put him on the block and see what they can get for him IMO.

if they could get Zeke at 24 to take that spot, they'd be upgrading that position BIGTIME.....if he's not there, I wouldn't even mind taking a look at a guy like Derrick Henry.

v.2.0

1.Emmanuel Ogbah DE - Oklahoma State

2.Tyler Boyd WR - Pitt

3.Evan Boehm C - Mizzou

4. Joshua Perry LB - OSU

5. Tajae Sharpe WR - UMass

 6. Connor McGovern G - Mizzou

7. Ian Seau DE/OLB - Nevada

1. I don't see a DE in 1 given that MJ and CD are both under 30 and under contract for a few more years, but it's not a bad pick.

2. I'd be good with Boyd in 2 if we don't go WR in 1.

3. I think that's a bit of a reach.  I'd rather go Jack Allen if we go C here.

4. Everything I hear says he will be long gone by 4.  I'm hearing he could go mid-2.

I also really think they will take a DT at some point.

I highly doubt taking a RB in the first round but do suspect taking BPA with a bias towards anything D or WR.

That was the original.  Look up a couple of posts for Rev 2.  :)
