The gorilla, named Harambe, dragged the boy around and held him for about 10 minutes, zoo officials said at a press conference. The boy was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. He is listed in serious condition, Fox 19 reported. Zoo Director Thane Maynard said the boy crawled through a barrier and some bushes at about 4 p.m. and fell into the enclosure. The zoo’s dangerous animal response team shot and killed Harambe after debating their tactics. “The reason why tranquilizing was not chosen is in an agitated situation — which the male was — it may take quite a while for the tranquilizer to take effect,” Maynard said. “You don’t hit him and he falls over, it would take a few minutes.”
|High School Harry|
I had not read the whole situation and tragic but necessary under the circumstances. I hope the little brat's parents are held responsible and some major penalties imposed for not controlling their kid. Of course, they will probably sue the zoo. Go Skins
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/killing-of-gorilla-to-save-boy-at-ohio-zoo-sparks-outrage/ar-BBtCunM?li=BBnb7Kz More than 2,000 people signed a petition on Change.org that sharply criticized the Cincinnati Police Department and the zoo for putting down the animal and called for the child's parents to be "held accountable for their actions of not supervising their child." Cincinnati police on Sunday said the parents had not been charged, but that charges could eventually be sought by the Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney. A spokeswoman for the prosecutor did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Authorities did not identify the child or his parents. The family could not be reached on Sunday. TimKrumrieFan
The parents need to be charged and put in jail. For that child to get by all the barriers they had to ignore him for a good 10 minutes. It hasn't happened in 38 years and there are some shitty parents in the world. Of course the Cincy PD would fuck it up because they can't do shit right in the first place. I'm not pissed the gorilla got shot although he was protecting the child not being aggressive but I am pissed at the lack of accountability on the parents. People suck.
