WR Need in offseason

This move just makes no sense, we like tall rangy DE's. How the fuck does a pass rushing OLB fit into a 4-3 defense? I just roll my eyes when people mock 6'3" 250LB LB to play DE for us, Marvin Lewis never has and never will draft a player like this. Bengals will ask him to put on 40lbs and he will then completely suck

I was shocked when we carried Chris Carter on our roster in '14 and '15.  It did not make me think that Marvin was going to use a first round draft pick on a 250 lb DE, but it does mean that he is willing to look at a smaller, quicker edge rusher.  Carter was listed as an OLB but he was really a pass rush specialist.

And Marvin did use a first round pick on David Pollack who moved from OLB to DE on passing downs.  And who can forget Dontay Moch?  Remember when he was the answer to our pass rush problems?

So I would not be surprised to see the Bengals use a mid to late round pick on a small quick edge rusher.

OK, the posters here seem to be pretty high on Foster, Mike Williams, and Cook as picks for the Bengals.  If gone, a real possibility, who would you like to realistically see picked, not taking into account sliders?

Solomon Thomas, without hesitation...

Hooker or the Alabama OT.

I have a bad feeling this is the Keith Rivers draft all over again...we really should trade back if we can IMO.

I would never draft a RB that highly if I were in charge. Too many injuries. Historically it hasnt turned out well at all and you can find quality in later rounds. Especially in this draft. But I completely see the argument for it, the need and the player is great. It would be one of those things that I could be persuaded on but wouldn't feel great about it.

That's just the nature of the draft at this point.  If you go in the top 10 and don't look like a potential HoF player in 2 years you're a bust.

As for Rivers in particular, I can kind of sympathize.  When the NFL lets one of their marquee players headhunt you, damn near end your career or even life and they not only get away with it, but continue to be a media darling despite being as dirty of a player as you'll ever see..  Well, that probably dampens your enthusiasm for the game a bit.

I know their coddling of the Stoolers has made me less of an NFL fan and I'm only watching from home.

Love Tim Williams as a player, but thought he had some serious off-field baggage (beyond just the gun incident).  Bengals might be able to get him with their second pick. Then again the stoolers will probably draft him and register the gun.

Keith Rivers was never really good in college.  I was not for the pick.  If you watched his highlight video.  It was one of the most unimpressive prospect videos I have ever seen.  After Rivers ran a 4.5 40 in his shorts his draft stock went up.    Foster is nothing like Rivers.  He's actually really good.

Agree Foster>Rivers, at least potentially.  However I still think Foster will end up spending as much time concussed and/or suspended as on the field.

Unless he goes to Pittsburgh of course, in which case he will be a classy, classy you can ask anybody tough player doing things the right way.

I would not use the #9 pick on a #2 WR.

I believe Lafell will be back.  The only question is how much money and how many years he wants.  At his age he figures this will be his last big payday.

Core did not look very good to me.  He was only a rookie and may improve, but I would not count on him as our #3 WR.

Unless you have seen him play none of you will agree with me when I say Cordarrelle Patterson has the potential to be one of the most dangerous playmakers in the league.  He only averaged 8.7 yards on 52 catches, but he has incredible natural football skills.  He is still just 25 years old.

I want DIDI Westbrook rd 2.  At #9,rd 1....."best athlete" is probably wise.  a QUICK outside pass rusher? DE/LB?   O-Line?   We invested in High pick DBs... look good at TE, won't go backup Q that high.   It could be a year for a big NT/DT as Peko is getting older  and is a FA.

If Reuben Foster, Dalvin Cook and Mike Williams are gone when we pick I'd take Solomon Thomas if he's there.  Malik Hooker if he's

there.  Possibly Taco Charlton, (although I personally think #9 overall is a little high for him.)  Or look to trade down to a team possibly

wanting a QB.  Not too far down mind you.  Buffalo at #10 might be looking at QB.  They may just sit pat though but could get scared

Cincinnati will trade with possibly Cleveland at #12 or even Arizona at #13.

I just did a 4 round mock:

1st round - Solomon Thomas - DE

2nd round - T.J. Watt - LB

3rd round - Pat Elflein - C

4th round - Dion Dawkins - OT

FIXT.

Really? Is there anybody that really believes Jeremy Hill is better than Gio Bernard?

And... Gio Bernard, coming out of college, looked a lot like Dalvin Cook. They have very similar strengths and styles. And I don't believe Dalvin Cook is 6'0. Truth will be told at the combine.

I get it, though, if the Bengals think this guy is Le'veon Bell or Zeke Elliott, they should pull the trigger. I, personally, am not convinced he's a legit top shelf three down back.

And fwiw, I'm not in love with Leonard Fournette, either. I think he's a safer pick, but I don't think he's got Pro Bowl upside.

How are you defining "deep threat"?  Personally, I don't want a "deep threat" guy who can get deep because of size and or route running ability, I want a burner. Someone who can turn a 5 yard slant into an 80 yard TD. IMO that is the one thing this offense is really missing.

That would be Davis in the draft

Westbrook has too small a frame he is built for the slot we already have a great slot. I would go Mike Williams he is the heir apparent for aj green. Nt we have a big bruiser in Billings. I would sing peko to a 1 year vet minimum as I would put him as backup to Billings. In round 2 I would go demarcus Walker out of fsu dude is a beast.

I'm in love with. Mixon dude is a bruiser with the frame and running style of Henry but makes one handed catches like obj. Got a first round grade but will be available in the 5th due to video. As far as fournette looks like ankle issues will be chronic so pass.

Gio was a nice all around player coming out but he was never considered a gamebreaker like Cook is.....Cook's speed/quickness/elusiveness is on a completely different level compared to Gio.

Let me make sure we are on the same page.  If we draft Cook, I want to get rid of Hill and not Gio or Rex.  Hill hasn't done squat since his rookie year.  Cook, Gio and Rex would be a dynamic group.
