At 6'3" 290 lbs Allen is a 4-3 DT(3 technique) or a 3-4 DE(5 technique), I wouldn't consider him a DE. Thomas could play DE in a 4-3 but I don't think he's a better pass rusher than Barrett and the stats prove that fact. Barrett had double digit sacks 3 years in a row in the SEC, that's an amazing accomplishment. If he's available at #9(which I doubt he will be) then I would hope the Bengals would be all over him.
I like Williams at #9 but I think we can get a similar player in latter rounds, imho it's easier to find a play making WR later in the draft than a play making DE and Williams injury history, lack of deep speed give me pause.
If I were drafting for the Bengals I would go DE, LB/OG, DT/OT/WR in the first 3 rounds, so that would be:
1. Derek Barnett/Taco Charlton/Solomon Thomas(whichever one is available)
2. Jarrad Davis/Hassan Riddick/Raekwon McMillian/Dan Feeney/Taylor Moton
3. Dalvin Tomlinson/Montavious Adams/Davon Godchaux/Josh Reynolds/Tywan Taylor/Malichi Dupree/Josh Malone/Zay Jones/Adam Bisnowtay/Will Holden/Julien Davenport

But again look at the stats. I would take Walker over them all after the top 2. And as far as taco he had one good year. There is no player as good as Williams in this draft imo.

Why Is demarcus Walker so low on mock boards? I know stats don't mean everything but at this point they mean a lot. Why is he not one of the top 2 or 3?

You said it, because there's more to evaluating a prospect than stats. He doesn't have ideal measurables.

How many guys with "ideal measurables" bust every year?  And guys without them have turned out to be great players.  If we don't get a DE in 1, I'd be happy with Walker in 2.  I didn't see a lot of FSU games, but what I did see he played well.

Yeah but he produced in college. Better than all of the supposed best ends. That should count. They also said joey bosa didn't have ideal mesurables.

It is part of the process. You have to look at why they were successful, who they did their damage against, how their skills translate to the NFL. That's why Walker isn't rated the top guy.

Bosa was a prototype 4-3 end in every way.

Tons. Every year guys with great college stats go undrafted because they aren't elite athletes. Most don't pan out. Some do.

Way off topic but I think he goes off this year now that they're playing a 4-3. But But anyways. I think his game translated really well to the NFL and I honestly see bosa in him. A high motor guy that's not super fast but just has a knack with an array of moves of getting to the qb. Bosa was better at run defense for sure. That's walkers weakness but that's a weakness for most of the top ends in this draft. My whole point is I don't see any gap between Walker and the other but even if u do is it that big a gap to warrant going with them at 9 as opposed to Walker at 41?

There are not many top rated OTs in this year's draft, but Walker got his sacks against:

4.5 against Ole Miss 1 each against South Florida, North Carolina and Michigan, 2 each against Wake Forrest, NC State, Syracuse, and Florida, and half a sack against Boston College.
