For those of you unfamiliar, this theory is pretty much the only hope for an awesome season:

It's almost time to mainline Kool Aid, I will read this article in preparation. I have re-upped Sunday Ticket. I drafted AJ Green and Cedric in fantasy. I am ready for my soul crushing season, but hopefully this tailor-made Ewing Theory scenario can help the team be good.

I have disowned my college team. I need this.

Here's the best reason for hope. It's the NFL. There is simply not much difference between a 6-10 team and 10-6 team.

You have your few elite. You have your few garbage teams. Then the vast middle that a ton of stuff can happen to fill out the remaining 8 playoffs spots.

Then once your in the playoffs it has been proven that 6 seeds can make it happen.

So make the arguement that the Bengals are not one of the garbage teams and really are in the vast middle and go from there. You'll be making hotel reservations in Indy in no time.

The Bengals were 4-12 the season before their first Super Bowl appearance - - I know, a lot of difference between now and then - but, you never know.
