  1. Past hour
  2. The fact that even if the Bengals wanted to, they couldn't give him a new contract right now is embarrassing for his agent. I'm guessing they approached the Bengals, the Bengals scoffed at it since they just extended him and he will be 30+ when the contract is over and as such isnt as likely to get the money he wants. Hopefully both sides can meet somewhere in the middle in 3 months. But if he is asking for a trade right now knowing the Bengals cant do a contract right now, it seems like that isn't likely. So what we are likely looking at is he is going to play for us the next 2 years and move on. So next year we should start looking at adding another DE, to pair with Murphy for the long term Don't even make the threat if you arent serious. Sounds like he met with Zach yesterday, hopefully Zach can talk some sense into him.
  3. Nope. Hell no. Domes should be banned in my view. Plus they usually cost like a half billion dollars on their own to install.
  4. If the agent only has one other name client, then that leads me to believe that he, as I just told a client and fellow Bengals fans "does not know with whom he is messing". My client asked if it was because of Mike Brown's cheapness and I said no, because it was because of Mike Brown's principles. Basically he's going to say "Shut up and play." or "Shut up and retire."
  5. I may be in the minority, but I like Fautanu better than Fuaga. Fautanu is very light on his feet (reminds me of Dion Dawkins). Though I think his best position is at G (all-pro ability there).
  6. Which begs the question: Why would a team give a guy contemplating retirement a new extension and a raise? Hey Trey,
  7. The agent is making his client look stupid by asking for unrealistic demands. A quick search of the agents' website shows that his only other name client is Marquez Valdez Scandling, so maybe he sees Trey as his cash cow and is pumping his head with sweet nothings about him being underpaid because of the new deals that were signed this offseason. If he thinks the Bengals are going to trade Trey or extend him when there's no reason to do so then he is silly. Trey isn't going to retire, if he was seriously considering retirement, he wouldn't be asking for a trade....all of this was poorly timed and executed.. a big-time failure on the agent's part.
  8. The only leverage he has even with trying to get a trade is the threat of retirement. I would be very surprised if that happened.
  9. Switch out Fautana for Fashanu and I am on board with that list in that order.
  10. This may be blasphemous but hear me out. The Brown family only have the Bengals as a source of income. In order to raise money for things like this (or to put money in escrow for contracts) they have to use the stadium for other events, or they have to raise money with local businesses buying into the Bengals and that only happens when the Bengals are successful which requires money for investing in the stadium and the team. Events require good weather because we are an outdoor team. What if the Bengals put forth a proposal to add a roof to the stadium so that we can do more events when the weather isnt good?
  11. Understood - but Latham's more of a masher, which is what Harbs likes. His Michigan OLs were like that. Maybe SD would trade back if their intel tells them they can still get Latham a little later. That's the thing... the different tackles have different strengths... depends on what you value the most. If you're looking for a LT, maybe Latham isn't your guy. If you want power at RT and the versatility to play inside, Latham is that. Alt is a T, whereas Fautanu can play all along the OL, supposedly. Fuaga wouldn't be a great fit as a LT. Fashanu is a T, might struggle inside... etc.
  12. I don't see how they could take him over alt but I guess we'll see
  13. Today
  14. Seems rich but Harbs is a big trenches/play physical guy... so it fits, if true.
  15. I would love this. Fiske is a bit older, so you'd likely only get his rookie deal out of him, but between him and Sweat and you add an OT and Center. Plus a WR. If it falls out this way Ill be happy.
  16. And if that occurs I'll be very happy with the pick. Guyton and Paul and Morgan are lower tiered imo. ..Alot lower.
  17. The Big Four for me in no real order - Fautanu/Fuaga/Latham/Mims. One of those four will be picked at 18 tonight.
  18. As an experiened businessman, I can assure you that negotiations with any municipal or governmnet deaprtment get frustarting at some point. Nature of the beast.
  19. He's got zero leverage except for asking for a trade, but he's under contract until 2025. I'm sure the Bengals could give him a bit more cash to make him happy but he did just sign an extension and is an integral part of the team. I'm sure his agent has been talking with a few teams that will give him an extension but why would the Bengals trade their best pass rusher who is under contract until 2025?
  20. I doubt any 350lb or up OTs have happy feet.. Trent Brown is 370 and doubt he's a gazelle...Same with Zeus.. Also.. Lathem's tape is at 360. He's down to 342 now which will help him move better.
  21. We could trade back about a half-dozen spots, still get a player that most of us be happy about, and would have plenty of draft capital to do some more damage in rounds two and three. 🦗
  22. But the day before the draft is EXACTLY when you would expect a request like this. Ditto Higgins reaffirming his desire to be traded. If a veteran player is going to be traded, it will be for draft picks. Both Hendrickson and Higgins will not get their wishes granted though. Deep down they probably know it, even if their agents don't.
  23. Jay Morrison's final mock draft. I like it overall...though not taking a CB until the final pick would be shocking. I seriously doubt that Fiske will be there at pick 80, but it definitely feels like this will be a "trenches" draft for the Bengals. I also think a Day Two WR feels almost like a certainty. Round 1, Pick 18: JC Latham, OT, Alabama Round 2, Pick 49: Ja’Lynn Polk, WR, Washington Round 3, Pick 80: Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State Round 3, Pick 97: T’Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas Round 4, Pick 115: Tanor Bortolini, C, Wisconsin Round 5, Pick 180: Jared Wiley, TE, TCU Round 6, Pick 194: Carson Steele, RB, UCLA Round 6, Pick 214: Darius Muasau, LB, UCLA Round 7, Pick 224: Myles Cole, EDGE, Texas Tech Round 7, Pick 237: Josh DeBerry, CB, Texas A&M
  24. My concern is the Bengals are doing what they did when Carson signed long term. Getting cheap again because they think they can win with just the top end QB. That may get you into the playoffs, but as we saw last year with Mahomes. He did not win by himself, their defense carried him. It can't be a one man show. It's why I think Carson finally got fed up, and Chad the year before him. I'm not on this "fuck these players" train. This is solely on management.
  25. We better come out of today with one of these guys or I'm gonna be pissed.
