Does anybody else make their own? I was living in the south for a couple years, so I had tostart making my own. Making a batch now. Even though I'm back in town, I can make 3 times as much as a tube of Gliers for the same price. Would be interested in suggestions.

If you want to try an addictive game day snack:

	* put a block of cream cheese in a bowl (never use fat-free, it's just gross....trust me)

	* dump half of a jar of salsa on it

	* mush it together with a fork

	* once it's reasonably mixed, add the rest of the salsa and whisk any remaining chunks of cream cheese

You can dip nachos into it right away, but it'll be better if you let it sit in the fridge for an hour.

It looks nasty (I'll spare you the nickname my friends' wife gave it), but I've lost track of how many people politely tried it, and then grabbed the bowl and walked away with it.

Been way too long and good to be back among the good people on this board. Have been mourning the loss of our tailgate spot at EZR's old space, but have come back anew.

Will try and post more later but was just catching up and saw this post and thought I'd join in.

New tailgate spot is off of West Third just west of Central. There is a new parking area right on the NW corner, but we are the next "road" to the west. (used to be and still may be called John St.) Road goes up the hill and we are in the parking lot all the way up at the top, far north end. (Unless the weather is bad, then we're in the same lot but under the 71 North overpass). Lots of "new" people there, but Gary, McNay (fka KreyZHorse), sometimes C Hamet, miniMOC and others are regulars. Gary has unofficially taken over the title of tailgate King (officially bestowed by moi) as we have had "trouble" making the trip down from Columbus on a regular basis. Hoping to correct that this year. Still in Section 156, Row 2, Seats 5 and 6 (unless the Mexican Beer Virus changes things?) If that happens we'll be happily ensconced in Section 420 with our season ticket fees providing the "entertainment" 🥳 Hoping to post more often and looking forward to seeing some or all of you again!

	MOC out!!!

Felt like telling someone, who better than my Bengals brethren. Just bought tickets for me and the woman to the Bengals/Jags game on 10/20. Yes I may be a glutton for punishment, but I am extremely excited to see them play for the first time in Jungle. For years I've watched them at Ralph Wilson, it will be nice to be able to root for them without being sworn at lol.

We're staying at the SpringHill Suites, I guess it is only a couple miles from the stadium. Looking forward to the game, some authentic chili, maybe the zoo, the aquarium...hoping for a nice extended weekend getaway. I could probably dig up some old threads asking for the same pointers, but let me know of any can't miss spots for food/entertainment!

Imogene Remus couldn't be reached for comment Tuesday night. This is her story, and we tried everything we knew to get in touch, but our efforts to get her thoughts were met with only the rustle of leaves.

Of course, she's been dead for 90 years but there are those who think she's still available for interviews.

The Enquirer sent this breaking news reporter to Eden Park to investigate rumors that the gazebo is haunted. Echoes of music from 1927 filled the Spring House Gazebo and we asked if Imogene was there, but no ghost appeared.

But without proper ghost-hunting equipment, who's to say spiritual activity wasn't happening? Maybe she didn't like the songs we played?

Ninety years ago, Imogene Remus was gunned down in Eden Park by her husband, "Bootleg King" George Remus. Her husband finally had enough of her (despite serving three years locked up in various cells) and divorce wasn't going to be enough.

George Remus, "King of the Bootleggers," was acquitted of the murder of his wife, Imogene. (Photo: The Enquirer/Ray Albert)

"The much-tangled domestic affairs of George Remus, once multi-millionaire bootleg king of Cincinnati, came to a sudden – and dramatic – climax yesterday," The Enquirer wrote on Oct. 7, 1927.

The day their divorce was to be finalized, George and his chauffeur followed Imogene's cab through Walnut Hills in a Hollywood-style chase. As the cab driver tried to get away, the Buick with George inside slammed into the back of it.

Imogene, dressed head to toe in black to mourn the loss of her marriage, scrambled from the cab and tried to run. George ran after her, grabbed her by the wrist, pressed his pearl-handled revolver against her abdomen and fired one shot that hit nearly all her vital organs.

Her daughter Ruth ran out of the car and tried to stop him from firing again. Imogene was taken to a hospital by a witness and died two hours later.

"I am now at peace after two years of hell. I'm satisfied I've done right," he told reporters at the jail after he turned himself in.

George Remus defended himself in court claiming temporary insanity. A jury found him not guilty and rumor has it that some jury members were bribed.

If the rumors are true and Imogene does haunt the park, it's no wonder. It would seem she has some regrets or revenge to mull over.

The stories go like this - a woman in a black dress and black hat seems to be in distress or just observing nearby Mirror Lake. She can be as real as any person or just appear as a shadow. Then she disappears, as ghosts are known to do.

Dan Smith, owner and operator of Haunted Cincinnati Tours, said over the past 10 years tour groups have seen plenty of activity at Eden Park.

"People have gotten a lot of weird photos," Smith said. "She's definitely out there."

Smith said more often than not there's activity during tours. He said when questions are asked, the lights of their instruments turn on, possibly indicating the presence of a spirit.

I remember my grandfather talking about George Remus. He was quite the celebrity back in the day, a real Roaring 20's bootlegger. He was an anti hero type beating the government at its own game with its own goods. He was probably the richest bootlegger of his day, more money bootlegging than Al Capone (who had other rackets adding to his cache), Enoch "Nucky" Thompson in Atlantic City and Joe Kennedy.

Unlike the others who made their own or smuggled it in, Remus, through bribes and connections, gained control of all of the legal alcohol used for medical purposes by the U.S. Government during prohibition. And there was a lot of it. What he did was simply traffic it under the table to others, no violence or bloodshed.

He kept a much lower profile than Capone and most of the other dealers in illegal spirits, but he was well known and loved in Cincinnati. A lot of his money went into helping the local down and out during the hard times. The article mentions he beat the murder rap with bribes but also his popularity. Imogene Remus was also pretty well hated because she apparently set him up to take over his fortune, and had an affair with the FBI man she worked it through, Frankie Dodge. They pretty much blew through George's fortune while he was in prison and she flaunted it to George via mail and visits laughing in his face. The train of thought in those days was different and the locals looked at the murder as "she had it coming". Let's not forget George was a rather famous and successful attorney in Chicago for 20 years before he used his smarts and connections to corner the national legal alcohol supply. As it mentions in the article, George beat the murder rap on a "temporary insanity" defense. The Government then tried to have him committed to an insane asylum but he beat THAT rap by using the testimony of three psychiatrists used by the prosecution saying he was NOT insane. Pretty sharp cookie. With most of the fortune blown by Imogene and Frankie. George spent the remaining 20 years of his life living in a boarding house in Covington.

George Remus was featured prominently in the Ken Burns documentary "Prohibition". He is also a character in "Boardwalk Empire". I don't know if Remus did this in real life but the character in "Boardwalk Empire" is the one who always spoke of himself in the third person, "George Remus does not concur with this idea" stuff. His mansion at the top of Price Hill (stunning view of the valley) was host to numerous fancy parties, etc. and one of the showplaces of Cincinnati. It was also the model for the BE Remus's house in the TV show. He was captured running around the circular Ottoman in the drawing room while he was wearing his bathrobe and underwear speaking in third person. The mansion is gone and all that remains is a vacant lot (with a spectacular view) and parts of the foundation.

We are flying in from Toronto for an action packed weekend for my 40th birthday. Big Bengals fan. Looking to hook up with some fans for a tail-gait pre-game. We are flying in pretty light so won't have any gear with us or a vehicle, but are happy to supply beer, food, $$. We have a loft rented right down town across the river from the stadium. Even better if there is a group bus trip going down that would be good too, possible we could buy in without the transport or tickets. Let me know fans. We'll be there Thursday to Sunday. Who Dey!

I have a question about Warrior tickets. Flying out there for my son's spring break.Taking the boy to the game on March 26th. Specifically wondering about the general chance of scalping tickets outside. I'm about to get $90 tickets on line plus about $25 in fees. Wondering if I could do better scalping before the game. Another factor is that I need 3 tickets, which complicates things a little. And the only game we're there for is a weekend game which is a little pricier than mid-week. Should I take the bird in hand and be done with it? Thanks in advance.

Has anyone done the new Free parking at Washington Park and take the streetcar down to the game? Just curious if the first 100 cars are there early, if there is a huge wait after the game? Any challenges? I'm thinking of doing this for the Cleveland game and just want to have an idea what to expect and what time I need to be there to get the free parking.

Going to the Browns game next Thursday and I need some parking advice. We share tickets with a group and we enter gate D as our tickets are in Section 139. Coming from Indiana we always park in the Kenton County Garage and take the TANK bus over to the stadium and that has usually worked out OK.

However, my wife has a degenerative hip issue, which usually is not that much of an issue but the last game we attended the driver unloaded somewhere on the southwest side of PBS and it was quite the walk for her. We are not giving up on the TANK bus yet but I do want to explore our options.

My first question is if anyone knows much about handicap parking? We have a placard. I am assuming if we have a Lot parking pass there are handicap spots available in the Lots? Do the Handicap spots fill up fast? If entering Gate D which Lot options should I look for? What other parking options do I have? I have even thought about parking and taking a cab but have no idea on taxi costs.

As I said we have not given up on TANK as it usually works well for us but I do have a question. We always stay at the game till the last. However, there is a possibility we might have to leave late 3Q or early 4Q. Does TANK run early back to Covington or will we have to wait till the end of the game?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated

I need someone to go with me to the Raiders game. My raider fan friends aren't going to be attending this game, so I wanted to maybe meet up with someone or get seats together.

The 49er game my dad will be going with me, but I would like if we had more Bengal support (since my dad is a 49er fan).

Anyone interested in going to either, or both games with me? I haven't bought tickets yet so I can look for more than 2 together.
