Enlarging an iPhone pic

I have looked online and nothing seems to work (photobucket for example, you click edit and you can't get anywhere) but I am trying to enlarge an iPhone pic that was taken over the weekend, as it is very small when I uploaded it to Facebook.

Websites or other suggestions? I don't think there is a way to enlarge a pic that was already uploaded to Facebook, but if there is, I would like to hear it.

I have two Canon XSi cameras. I have the standard 18-55 IS lens and a 60mm Macro, and a 70-300 IS USM lens.

My wife and i were shooting a wedding this weekend, and out of no where, about 1,000 shots in, her unit, using the standard lens, stopped autofocusing, if put into manual, it worked, but not on auto. it would act like it as focusing then freeze and the camera would do nothing.

we switched bodies, and it worked fine on the other body, and the other lens worked fine on her body.. later we switched back and they all worked on all bodies.

but the issues kept happening off and on, over and over, which when shooting a wedding, is rough, you cant be missing those "once in a lifetime" moments.. etc..

i dont even know where to start, from googling, it seems perhaps some connectors lost connects to the lens, but i didnt notice anything obviously wrong or dirty on either.

anyone ever seen this or have any advice?

Moving away from the XSi to the 60D or the 60Da, thoughts?

For my daughter for Christmas. She loves taking pictures and wants a good camera. I know the DSLR cameras are the shit and all, but I'm looking for a really good point and shoot, with some close to professional features.

I just came across this: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 but the price is at the $300 point. I was hoping for it to be more like $275, I know it's $25, but when you reproduce like I do, every dollar counts at Christmas. I like the DMC-FZ35 because it has good reviews and looks more than a normal point and shoot. I think if I get her into something decent now, she may develop some talent, she has a good eye, a very good eye for composition.

Well, you guys know I bought a camera a while back and was starting to get into photography. At the time I wasn't sure what kind of photos I wanted to take. I thought nature scenes were always cool but every time I took them they never came out very well. Then I stumbled upon something that interested me, taking pictures of people in their natural surroundings. I think I'm doing Ok with these and have been getting great comments from people that check out my pics. Anyway, I thought I'd post a few here. These are just grabbing people off the cuff. Also, I have no real reason behind it, like trying to be some artsy fartsy fag or something, but I really like black and white. I think it looks cool. Hope you guys like these.

Geotagging DSLR?

Do any of the newer DSLRs have geotagging features? I have an Eye-Fi card for my idiot camera, but that only works where there are Wi-Fi signals to triangulate. Next year, I'm going to Africa, would like to geotag my photos, and will definitely want/need a decent DSLR solution. Currently, I have a Sony Alpha 100. As it stands, I have two options:

1. Purchase an SD to CF card adapter; Purchase a Sony GPS-CS3KA GPS Image Tracker; Take photos with the Alpha while keeping Sony GPS with me (looks like a white pager); remove CF adapter from camera at the end of the afternoon/evening; remove SD card from adapter; insert SD card to Sony GPS; let it tag photos; Remove SD card from Sony GPS; insert SD card to laptop*; upload geotagged photos to laptop*, erase SD card, place SD card back in camera; replace battery on Sony GPS; rinse; repeat the next day... Or, bring several SD cards, and leave the laptop at home.

* If the Apple tablet comes as rumored, I'm totally picking one up and bringing that as my computing system.

or

2. Purchase Jobo Hotshoe adapter for Sony Alpha cameras (because Sony, the big bunch of proprietary fuckers, even made their hotshoe proprietary), Purchase Jobo photoGPS and attach to the hotshoe adapter which is attached to the camera...

Option 2 seems easier except the hotshoe adapter adds big bulk, the photoGPS comes unattached rather easily, the photoGPS takes up the hotshoe so attaching an external flash is no longer possible, the photoGPS has it's own internal battery that needs a usb port to charge (it takes 2 hours), the photoGPS requires an internet connection to turn it's data into GPS coordinates, it doesn't actually embed the geotag (it creates a separate file that you need to keep with your photo file)...

I'm looking for the best solution. So far, option 1 is my only solution with the current camera. If all else fails, that will be what I wind up doing. However, I want something better/easier. I technically haven't spent a penny on my current setup (the Alpha body was a gift from my father, who included 2 of his old Minolta lenses), so I'm not totally attached to it. Also, I absolutely hate Sony and all of their proprietary crap. Finally, if ever there was a reason to make the big leap with a good DSLR body and a couple of lenses it's an African safari.

Thoughts? Insight? Help?

Bought a 2nd Body and a Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash

Well my wife and I have been butting heads about our XSI for some time, we had a backup XTi for a while but sold it for money for a 2nd body and ended up paying taxes with it instead, SOOO i finally got another body.. another XSi. got it on ebay brand new from a good trusted seller for $585-600 (score!) and I just bought a Brand new canon speedlite 580ex II flash, seemingly the best most professional flash canon makes. for about $380 ( score again!)

i should have them late this coming week. pretty excited to each have our own body, i can take my zoom lens and leave her the macro and standard lens for her needs....

however i cant find a hip bag thatll fit my xsi with 70-300MM lens attached, i bought one thatl CLOSE, but it doesnt realy FIT...

So I have a 5 megapixel Nikon coolpix 4600. It falls short in a lot of areas, but it was cheap-ish, so I don't feel too bad. Check out [url="http://picasaweb.google.com/steven.beiting/WayfarersMunichDolomites#"]this[/url] for some recent shots. Italian Alps, bitchez.

I am an amateur photographer and I want to stay that way. I.e., no SLR--just another point and shoot that will be better than this one. Are Cannons better than Nikons or Pentax or whatever brand is out there? Any brands to avoid? Is 8 megapixels the standard? I'm so pumped! It's so hard with wanting to be a sports photographer in a program that really looks down on that type of photography. Me and my friend have caught a lot of crap for not being interested in the fine art aspect of photography. I had always heard that raw provided the best quality because the images were not compressed, but the pics I have been taking in raw dont look as good as the jpeg images.

Tip number 1 - when holding a heaver camera make sure you hold it from the bottom of the lens and do your focusing from the bottom rather than the top, this way if your flash comes up and gets used you arent blocking any of the light.

Seems simple I know but as Im messing around learning my new D80, I made the mistake (no biggie as Im just taking random pics at the moment to learn how to use this) so...

I have a canon XTi currently, my wife and I seem to continue to have needs for the camera at the same time, not to mention my need of a camera is becoming more serious on a more regular basis. I was about to purchase another XTI body, but stumbled across the XSi when i was checking out a IS version of the kit lens for the XTi.

All the lenses will work, the membery cards are cheaper for the good high speed stuff. its more MP's, 14 bit vs 12 bit, and has this and that a notch better, including ability to snap with the LCD screen view not just the viewfinder, including AF features via the screen. its approx $200-300 more depending where i buy..

since the lenses are the pricey part, and they fit, its really just a matter of a few things..

1. cost difference (advantage XTI)
2. technology difference (advantage XSi)
3. accessory difference (advantage XTI, as my 4 batteries, battery pack, chargers, mem cards wont fly so i need more/new, backup accessories for XSI)
4. cool new toy factor (obvious advantage XSi)

its the same size, it seemed LIGHTER but i could be imagining things, the circuit city security things are hard to gauge.

im comfy with canon so i will slip right into using the XSi. and it is clearly the better option. even the flashes and everything fit...

i cant think of a reason NOT to get it aside from cost. but with the improvements it easily moves into the lead spot for MY usage, and the wife is more than happy with the xti.

SD cards also fit into our laptops and things as well. without a reader, unlike the compact flash where with USB the camera when we use our laptops for image viewing..

so it has advantages... and disadvantages (all related to cost it seems)

but i dont think cost will be a real issue.. i may have to save an extra month to makeup the difference...nothing big.. as long as i have it by august im straight..

suggestions? input? anyone used it and have any insight?

Best buy had it for $699, so i checked cirxcuit city the past few weeks, it was $649.99 so i found a 10% off coupon and started saving my gift cards from work and holidays, and visa gift cards...

fri and sat they did a 2 days unadvertised special on it, made it $571.99 so i decided to go into the store, figuring knowing retail it would be slammed and they would be so busy they wouldnt give a fuck about the complicting online special and coupon i had that both stated they cant be used together, and i was right, the manager was fixing a register someone fucked up and told the rep "10%, fine i dont care," and keyed the discount. so i got 10% off the $571, so it was $514, i had $475 in CC gift cards and a pair of visa gift debit cards totalling $64, so after taxes and everything i spent $9.25 of my own money from checking on it.

$700+tax lens for $9.25

sweeeeet.

im probably taking it to the game today to give it a test run..

PORTRAIT LENS & ZOOM LENS

I've got a Canon Rebel XTI camera, just with the kit lens as I've been poor for so long.

In eed a good portait & everyday lens for the wife and I need a good zoom lens for myself for sports and things.

I have decided on the [b]EF 70-300mm IS USM Canon[/b] lens for myself. it runs about $650, I have $375 in gift cards for circuit city from work so im halfway there.

I think a relative is looking to spend about $400 on a lens for the portrait/everyday variety lens for the wife and I.

I was looking at the [b]EF S60mm Macro USM[/b] lens its around $450, but i really know notihng about a portrait lens, and some reviews say its great foreveryday pics and some says its not, etc..

so im looking for some feedback and input. as for everyday some IS would be nice for the wife, as wel go to the park and playground with our kids and a tripod isnt always possible. and macro + IS seems to not exist.

i know little to notihng about this stuff, we are just getting started in the real photography world.

well, im been going back and forth, my business uses/used until recently stolen, an olympus DSLR, i didnt much care for its menus and things so was deciding between a nikon and a canon. i have always had creat luck with canon photo printers and professional printers so i went with the canon like a lazy schmuck. i got the Eos Digital Rebel XTI , in black, and will have it shortly. it comes with the standard lens, and i am looking to get a few extra lenses for it.

along side my design company and printing business, i am looking to start a photography branch, over the next 12-24 months myself and my wife will be taking some classes and courses to get better aquainted with the DSLR world, lenses and so on. so i figured the XTI was a good stepping stone from the lazy point and shoot I have been using into the real world.

so i ask.

anyone using DSLR camera? if so what kind? ever used the xti? if so, thoughts?

the XTI will likely become my "game" camera once we branch into more expensive units for business, so i need a decent zoom lens, the xti has 3x ish built in and there is a 75-300 III lens, DC version is much cheaper just louder im told, any recommendations for those who have done indoor or overcast sports shots?

canon has a program called canon digital photo professional which has many tutorials and great features, so i will be doing my best to learn as much as i can in a short time...

i would love to keep an open discussion on photography here...

feel free to chime in and go into other topics.. figured i would open the floor and learn afew things...

I know a few posters here have knowledge of digital cameras. So I need your help.

I am looking to get a halfway decent digital camera. I dont need anything spectacular. Decent zoom, decent quality, decent amount of featuters and what not. Price range is hopefully 200 or less. I found these 2 cameras (links below) let me know what you think and if there is a better deal/value than that.

I dont know what I should look for in a camera really. From what I know, if its possible i would like a little more zoom. I felt these 2 were solid cameras for their price for me. Ideas/Advice?

Thanks to everyone that helped me find those deals for the [url="http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=83354"]Nikon D40 [/url](not the D40x which is more expensive). Special thanks to Notorious...I wound up using shop.com to purchase at Onecall.com. Make sure that is the configuration if you order through shop.com.

Onecall had it listed at 524.99 + 16.99 for three day fedex. shop.com's rebate brings it down to 488 (that's including shipping). I'm not sure I like shop.com, but onecall is awesome and has great customer service. FYI the rebate will show up on my CC in 4-8 weeks (if I remember correctly) and is through shop.com.

A few things:
1. I don't like the setting to copy the pic to BW, I'd probably edit this on my machine...it came out looking more blue to me.
2. 2gb SD card with high quality .jpg and 3.1 megapixel setting allows something like 900+ pics (we took almost 200). The camera will actually take up to 6.1 (I think) megapixels, but for what we are doing it really isnt' necessary.
3. Battery life is amazing.

Most pics that we took were just on automatic settings (mainly because we didn't take time to explore all the features). Regardless most of the pictures look good...they'd probably look better if I knew what other things I should be doing. I'm [b]very happy[/b] with this camera and have been watching it for awhile. I stumbled on [url="http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/2007-05-what-camera.htm"]Ken Rockwell's[/url] site and he talks this camera up a bunch.

I know some of you people here have also gotten nice digital SLRs. What are you storing them in? I'm looking for something that will hold the body (with a lens attached), two extra lenses, battery charger, etc...

well my car was broken into tuesday evening, i moved to blue ash to avoid this sort of thing, and not only has my car been broken into by someone did a hit and run overnight about 6 months ago while i was asleep and smashed the back of my car up pretty good. so today i was driving my recently solid above average looking honda civic to work with a busted bumper, a rattling muffler(due to bumper) and a brown plastic bag over the window taped on with boxing tape... rather embarassing to say the least..

ANYWAY when they broke into my car, they stole my $500 digital camera(with priceless photos inside of course) a cell phone i just got for my business and some cash and threw TONS of my sons clothes and toys and diaper bag stuff all over the parking garage, its bad enough to know that someone stole my things, but to know some fuck was toughing and ruffling through my sons belongings and just throwing them all over the ground is infuriating(sp?) so after cleaning it up and settling for a few days i decided to get a new camera.. so to the point of this being in the geek forum, i got a simple new point and shoot kodak digital cam. my old one was 10x optical and 3x ditital with no image stabilization, my new one is the P712, 12x optical with IS, and 5 x digital so 60X total instead of 30X total with the old one, and its 7.1 MP instead of my old 5.0MP.. so i should have some even better shots from the bengals games... i also got 2 2.0GB SD cards so i can store more video and pics from training camp and so on.

Anybody know of any good deals on SLR digital cameras? I don't want to fork out major cash and I'm just starting to look. (I may actually have to wait awhile to buy.) The digital we have sucks and drains batteries like nothing else. Anybody know of a kick ass one for like a 1.83 from Hong Kong? J/K

Any personal experience with it? All of the reviews I read are pretty good. I just need something like this that can go from fully automatic to manual. I'm an experienced photographer on a pre-digital era camera, so I don't like cameras doing all of the work for me. However, my wife is not so experienced. But I can't afford those nice $1000 cameras. So, I was thinking of getting something like this one.

so in addition to my bomb ass camera, i purchased a 2.2x telephoto lens...

thus making my optical zoon 22x and my digital zoom 66x more than doubling the previous zoom.

i would like to get the fish eye and wide angle lens as well... all in due time i guess.

but i cant wait for camp to try this baby out.

Got this bad boy ordered yesterday, order finally confirmed ($200 less than retail store price, man i love the internet)..

5.0 megapixel
10X optical zoom(should make for really nice close ups, good enough quality for graphic design)
3x digital(all but pointless)

also ordered my 1 gig memory card so i can store like 400+ photos on the card..

cant wait to get to camp and try this bad boy out. might just take some at the reds games to try it out...
