  2. I actually do like you as we share some political beliefs, so I'll be disappointed in you leaving as when you aren't just shit posting I think you have things to offer. but please don't act like a victim here, you aren't.

  3. I would have preferred Eichenberg originally 1 to 1, but I wouldn't prefer him over Carman, Shelvin, & D'Ante as a triple combo (which is what the 2nd Rd essentially was). It needs to be viewed as 3 picks, not 1.

  4. There was zero chance you would like this pick once they passed on Sewell. No outcome other than taking Sewell would have satisfied you. I don’t see anyone else getting triggered by the article with Alexander and I’ve read nothing that indicated Carman‘s surgery is a long-term concern. That doesn’t sound like someone trying to not be so down on the team. Pretty much the opposite actually.

  5. Don’t let others ruin your good time. Your concerns are valid. A lot of folks can’t take it when people disagree with them these days. Take a few days or a week off. Let everyone cool down. The ignore function is vastly under used around here.

  7. Man it was a minor outpatient surgery after he played half the season last year with the disc herniated. He should be 100% by the time they start team activities. This isn't even close to the big deal that some of are trying to make it out to be.

  8. It’s not difficult to understand your thoughts. You made it clear for months that you saw it as Sewell or bust. That’s not really up for debate. So it’s not surprising to see you shit on this pick any way that you can because it’s not what you wanted. And you’ve never said anything positive about this pick in this thread or the one for Day 2 of the draft. So saying you are trying to not be down on the team isn’t even close to true. Not even firing Turner or releasing Hart has changed your tune.

"get blocked into pretzels by 180lb half backs". fucking drama queen. we added 4 new bodies, get back 5 healthy bodies, and replaced the coach who players and whose scheme and techniques were hated... somehow not trafting a first round OL is going to make 5-6 guys ge

  11. this thread is hilarious. how can anyone think Sewell was some magical slam dunk pick? our current best offensive lineman plays LT, so we draft Sewell for LT? then move Williams to RT? wait we just signed a RT, so move him to Guard? clearly offensive line musical chairs is the key to success, especially in a OL heavy heavy draft. its pretty clear the talent haul between Sewell and whatever WR was there in 2 is far far below Chase and the OL there in 2. and to think Tee and Boyd are good enough WR talent is completely insane.

  16. Ooooo, they are WAY higher on Hill than i had previously guessed. HTPG piece on him was about 51 minutes in - said he is way more explosive on tape than it showed on his pro day because he was still limited at his pro day following the twin meniscus cleanups. Said that a scout’s note that they got from talking to staff at Georgia is that he can dunk at his 330 pounds - that his ability to explode up out of the snap and win angles is noteworthy. They see him as being able to play either G spots or C. Frankly, hearing that piece made me move Jordan to even more endangered.

  18. I asked, when this draft started, for all posters to be civil. It may have been asking too much. I don't care which political persuasion you belong to, I don't care which clique you belong to, and furthermore I don't care how long you've been a member. Failure to remain civil will result in penalties delivered. The main problem I have is that the main breakdown is that posters forgot the golden rule. Attack the post and not the poster. Use the report feature. In this post I have not received any reports regarding the last two days but from the appearances, there a

  21. It comes down to you have two starters at LT and RT and anyone drafted was going to play guard. I don't know that it's necessary to have the 5th over all pick play guard. Even if we argue that the 5th overall pick would play RT in a year, just as we think Carman might have that option. I still don't know that you spend the 5th overall pick on a right tackle. My thinking has always been this... LT is more important than WR1 WR1 is more important than RT Hell if I remember right from that Bucky Brooks article TE was more important than RT

  22. So do I.. Hell i was on the Sewell bandwagon but once Chase was picked i was hoping theyd draft a plug and play lineman.. I believe they managed that in Big Jack.. The oline has improved enough to make me believe the protection for JB and holes for Mixon will make the offense explosive.. The D looks alot better as well... I like the makeup of this team now..

  23. I just want 5 good OL - dont care what round they were picked in or by whom
    1 point
  24. I started talking about the need for an improvement at TE after about the first month of last season. Joe Burrow is much more of an inline passer than he is a big sideline dime dropper. I personally think a bonafide receiving threat at TE could help him far more than a lot of other upgrades. I honestly believe had he not been injured, the Bengals would have cut Uzomah this past offseason. As for Moss. the guy isn't a big pass catcher, is short for the position and isn't overly athletic. He is however a solid run blocker and will nicely fill Cethan Carter's spot on the roster. I don

  27. All right, all right, settle down. I wasn’t trying to attack you so don’t get all defensive. You just seem to have convinced yourself of the worst is all I’m saying. No big deal.
    1 point
  28. That is absolutely false. We are here talking about a draft pick and if it was a good one. I don't think it was and have stated the reasons why. You have disagreed about the risks, which is your perogative, but the facts are the facts. I hope the kid comes through this and is a productive lineman for the Bengals, as I've stated elsewhere. You choose to take parts of my posts and twist them into my "belief?" My belief is your interpretation of my thoughts are poor.

  29. I hear ya but this isn’t really about an opinion, it’s more about a belief….as in you already believe the worst is going to happen without even letting it play out.
    1 point
  30. Look, man. I'm allowed to have an opinion and voice it. You're allowed as well. I try to back my opinion up with facts and not make it personal. Suddenly it seems to be in vogue to go after people directly. Let's not do that. Glad your back is fine. I deal with these patients professionally. Back surgery is not something you want to have unless you really need it.
    1 point
  31. Good lord, the kid will be fine. Let's give the pick a chance rather than just assuming the absolute worst case scenario, huh? I had back surgery after a car wreck when I was 17 and to this day I've never even given my back another thought. That was 35 years ago.

  32. They are trolling because they're still trying to generate revenue from the draft coverage. From what I read, he had the surgery and wasn't 100% by the time they had the school proday so he had a separate workout afterwards for people. He simply needed the extra month to have the time to fully recover and get ready to do the dog-and-pony show workouts for people on his own once he was fully recovered. Be glad that he listened to the doctors instead of rushing the recovery time and putting himself at risk of suffering a setback. This shouldn't be a big deal, it's not l

  34. Yet another year, another few projects. We always have a high first rounder. More Andre Smiths and John Rosses than ummm, Carson Palmers? Some OT prospects in the mid rounds, with the notable improvement of Pollack to develop them. The obligatory DT who will wither be a super star or eat his way out of the league. The gaggle of edge guys looking for Frostee Fanene Lawson Hubbard v5.0. Last year was a complete and total sh*t show, and Zac Taylor still hasn't sold me on his ability to run a mall kiosk - much less an NFL team. We've had first round picks for 40 years and

  35. Yes.. I was taken back by the amount of Injuries/surgeries in the draft... The Bengals arent alone in taking injured picks.. If a team feels hope for a recovery and the kid is a baller then you pull the trigger.. Hell they all get injured sooner or later anyway..
    1 point
  36. I think I agree with PFF. Part of it is addition by subtraction (Turner, Hart) and part is who will replace them (Pollack, Reiff). Carman allows them the same position versatility that they would have had with Sewell as a college LT who can also play guard. They also grabbed another tackle in the 4th. Last year they didn’t take any OL before the 6th. It’s hard to say these moves haven’t made them better or that the team hasn’t tried to get better.

  38. Regarding Hill. I think he could be very solid if not stellar with some coaching and conditioning.

  39. Kiper defended the Bengals kicker pick as well. Compared him to Jason Elam and said he had a smooth golfer stroke. Kiper is socially awkward and sort of a blowhard, but he also devotes his entire year as a full time job to scouting hundreds of players a year. So it's not a completely irrelevant opinion.

  41. I really like this pick, UGA has always put some good lineman in the NFL. Great value pick, I think he's going to be a good player for this team.

  42. I watched most of these videos now and it seems pretty clear that he's got the leg. Lots of kicks of 50+ where it's hitting the top half of the uprights. In high school he made a 60-yarder. In one of these it shows that Florida had the 40 as his "cutoff" to reach for an attempt, and we're all used to the 35. Finally, Callahan was asked about him in his presser regarding the OT and said exactly that - whenever you can have the 40 your cutoff instead of the 35 it can sometimes mean the difference between winning or losing.
