Well, to be fair the original post was from a mock draft simulator that is a composite of independent scouts across many outlets and Morrison/Watts players were selected within the range they are ranked overall. I don't think those two should be discredited just because they have ND next to their name and that's where Golden is coming from. And also FWIW I'm 100% on board with your statement in parentheses. I've been saying the same thing for 3 years. I think ZT is a hell of a culture builder and a solid HC and assuming 100% of the play calling duties deviates from success. A great attribute as a leader is having self awareness and I wish he'd have some in that regard and trust the team that's been put in place.2 points

Hoping he was talking more on Tee. Chase gets paid Higgins gets tagged....unless they extend JBs contract..2 points

Wow, that's disappointing. He should really take a hard look at whoever screwed up by drafting him.2 points

I would bet that they are really hoping he does something so bad it voids his contract.2 points

I admit I've not but my concern was with their former coach deciding when they should be drafted. I don't doubt they're good or even great. Rather that they're maybe not quite as great as their old coach values them due to their history together. This is where independent scouts would tell them "yeah he's solid but he's probably still there at the bottom of this round and I heard [team] had their eye on [player still on the board]". The draft is crucial, so it helps to have people dedicated to the one job of scouting draft prospects. A locked in singular focus matters. More input is good if you're confident in your ability to delegate responsibility and be accountable for your decisions. If it muddies someone's thinking that's just their lack of confidence. (Related: Zac should give over every-down play calling duties to his OC so he can focus solely on Head Coach Problems. As a HC he's still free to call plays whenever he wants, install the week's offense or whatever. Seems a bit arrogant not to when he clearly struggles with the extra responsibility at times. Control issue, maybe?)2 points

Knew that would be the next step. It's his entire platform in a nutshell. and let me add.. If it wasn't for this assumption that only a straight white Christian man could possibly be qualified for their job we wouldn't need all the civil rights, DEI legislation in the first place. It's not about hiring people because of their minority status. It's about not refusing to hire them because of their minority status. I really do wish it wasn't necessary but here's the very POTUS himself demonstrating that it is and was needed. Pretty sad. Here's hoping for a day we can drop it not out of anger or some "anti-woke" propaganda from billionaires, but because it's genuinely no longer a concern & seems to us as preposterous as needing a law so people don't burn redheads as witches. We'll get there someday, maybe not in our lifetimes but it's unavoidable. Just gonna have to deal with the latest bunch of shitters bigly mad about it until then. Seems every few generations the rest of the world has to band together and chase them back under their slimy little rocks. The inevitable dead end of their ignorance is what makes them so extra mad about it.2 points

Well because there are a lot of good DT’s they should have worked to get better guards, he looks at things the wrong way. And if there are so many good DT’s in the league why do we have none ? I know he is careful about what he says but at least say something intelligent.2 points

Almost every move carries risk. Joe Mixon certainly was a risk that was captured live on video but he panned out for us. Signing Adam “PAC MAN” Jones was a huge risk in many ways (and I admit I was totally against it) but he gave us some great years. Hero worship of young boys at an early age by grown adults, to include looking the other way at any improper conduct, has different effects on different people. Chris Carter is a perfect case study of how it sometimes works out for the good eventually.1 point

At the risk of beating a dead horse, self-awareness is in short supply within any organization built on nepotism.1 point

Perfect example of having to read past the clickbait to what was actually said. That has happened a lot in the Tobin interviews this week.1 point

Tobin is the Bengals general manager. It is unfortunate that he has a limited player salary budget to work with. We all know the Brown family knowingly treats the cap as if it is some sort of unmovable obstacle that can't be manipulated. Still, Tobin is the one who ultimately decides how best to utilize the budget given to him in terms of free agency. He is ultimately the one who has to decide which player to take with their slot pick in each round, assuming he decides not to trade up for a particular prospect or trade back for additional picks. When it comes to constructing the 53 man roster as well as the all-important practice squad, Tobin is the ultimate decisionmaker. Of course he receive help and assistance from team scouts and the coaching staff on player personnel, but Tobin makes the final call.1 point

I believe they've drafted more college captains than most teams. They a multitude of high end players leaderships on the team1 point

Fannin will be off the board in round 2. He's primarily a receiver. GG loves him. Yeah, Duke's right. Those offensive numbers from last year were due to the O-line and those glory boy skill position ball handlers get too much credit. Volson deserves 20 mil per year more than Higgins! Amirite?1 point

They institutionalized Rosemary and gave her shock treatments for a hell of a lot less. That mf's cooked on steroids and darkweb testosterone. And they want to ban "gender-affirming therapies" The brain worms are clearly calling the shots there. Why else would he encourage people to drink unpasteurized milk? 🪱1 point

Kiper has 35 RBs with a draftable grade in this draft. That's the position where you load up on UDFAs1 point
