  1. In the last 5 years we have only taken ONE player with character concerns. It blew up on us. In the last 5 years the Eagles have taken numerous players with character concerns. So far they have no regrets.
  2. If all he did was drive too fast down a residential street with an expired license and tinted windows, then I'm not too concerned about his character. The charges were probably dropped for a reason.
  3. Pick a guy with no character concerns
  4. Forgot to add: If you haven't already, make sure you read the article about Yarvin that Jamie posted earlier.
  5. LOL @ "recruiting violations". The only thing that would shock me in that regard is if there's a D1 football program in the country that's not routinely & flagrantly violating whatever bullshit standard the NCAA claims to enforce. Every few years some big school gets to be the scapegoat and then everyone goes back to business as usual. I've watched too many college athletes destined for the pro level pull up in "borrowed" luxury sports cars & SUVs to believe there are any rules at all. If that's the worst thing they can say about a potential draft pick they should save their breath.
  6. A lot of times the smoke is just a smokescreen. Teams will anonymously ding players they hope fall to them. Just takes a cooperative journalist to put it out there. And journalists won't burn a source. In fact source-greasing is pretty common. Football reporting is pretty transactional.
  7. I hope they don't draft either one of them
  8. At this time last year, Jermaine Burton was just a bad teammate.
  9. He already sounds like a second round pick for the Bengals.
  10. Smoke and mirrors season hoping he drops, or real concerns.... From: https://www.sportskeeda.com/college-football/news-he-actually-crazy-james-pearce-jr-s-high-school-teammate-vouches-anger-issues-ahead-nfl-draft "The character concerns stem from a December 2023 arrest, where police stopped Pearce for driving 63 mph in a 35 mph zone and discovered his North Carolina license was suspended. He failed to provide ID or proof of insurance and face multiple charges, including improper registration and illegal window tint. All charges were dropped two weeks later, according to reports." Also some random dudes on reddit or something that mentioned he got into an altercation with a strength coach and the team was using a "handler" with him to keep things quiet. From: https://allfortennessee.com/anonymous-afc-staffer-raises-red-flags-james-pearce-jr-out-of-nowhere Just vague mentions of the concerns but some stuff about how good he is and that he will need to clean things up. "Pearce was consistent for Tennessee this year but drew more attention from opponents, knowing he was on pace to be a top-five draft pick. As a result, his performance wasn't shown through sack numbers in 2024, but he was still very productive. He was so productive that he is the only EDGE rusher among his peers in the 2025 draft who has put together a pass rush pressure rate of over 20% in the past two seasons." As fans, for all we know, some team at the bottom end of the 1st round is hyping this up to get him to drop to them. The Gridiron Grading guys on X think it's a slam-dunk pick for the Bengals if he drops that far. https://x.com/GridironGrading/status/1891999723826913383 https://x.com/_RyanFowler_/status/1891996322519007335

Wrecking Crew was so good - but do yourself a favor and watch Hired Gun also. I loved this documentary -
  12. If you are a serious person, this is perhaps the most important article you'll read this week: The Plot Against America: How a Dangerous Ideology Born From the Libertarian Movement Stands Ready to Seize America Slightly overstating the case by telescoping from the 2008 crash until now, it overlooks all the predicate events that preceded it, going all the back into the late 60s/early 70s. Still a substantial read.
  13. It's rumors of "Anger Issues" for Pearce.

I noodled around on guitar for a long time, up until I got sick. Haven't played hardly at all over the past three years--my body wouldn't let me. But now that I'm putting on a little weight and getting some of my strength and flexibility back, I'm thinking about going out and buying a GS-mini and getting rid of my dreadnoughts! I'm a big country blues, finger-pickery kind of guy, but I haven't always been that way. Here are a couple of tunes from two of my favorite bands from my youth: Bill Nelson does some wild guitar shit his with band, Be Bop Deluxe: And from a not super well-known, but influential trio, Budgie:
  15. A 3 year year $33.7 mil contract, only $15 mil was guaranteed and there was an out the 3rd year is hardly going all in. No reason to pay a 36 year old tackle when you donโ€™t have a QB or are close to a title.
  16. This should help ... ๐Ÿ’ฐ
  17. "Character concerns" is a pretty broad category. Could be anything from he doesn't study hard to he has lots of friends with serious criminal records.
