Trey Hendrickson is a power rusher that left many games with back issues and is 29. Trade him. He will never get to where he was last year. He doesn't have pass rush moves. He has a motor.4 points

My take on this list: Agree, Zac's calls are fun - but I enjoy almost any call like this across the league. These are usually typical fare, but for whatever reason in Ja'marr's year it was incredible, so many revealing moments. Phoniest shit ever, I hate the Goodell hugs. I, too, salivate like Pavlov's dog at the ESPN draft chime. Reading draft grades is ok, usually all over the place - personally I like digging out and reading every draft profile and highlight reel I can find about every Bengal pick. Eh, never really cared too much about Mr. Irrelevant, it's called that for a reason no? Not much of a label for the actual person? Nice for Brock Purdy though. What, is he serious? Next year's mocks have already started!3 points

You are winning me over. Better to trade him a year too early than a year too late. Age and back issues are a concern. I say there's a good chance he retires after next year no matter where he is. I'm also thinking no team would give all that much for him in a trade, anyway. Great guy and addition to the team but his best football days are behind him.2 points

He’s their only pass rushing threat that's proven… they are keeping him. I’m sure he wants longer term security… who doesn’t? He got an extension last year and he happily signed it, so let him play out this year, see how he does, see how his back and overall health are, and also see how Murphy and Ossai perform. Then decide. For now, nothing changes.2 points

As all this goes on Katy sits in her office knowing both will play this year. Nothing has changed. Draft board stays the same.2 points

The Bengals controlled Browning's rights for the next 2 seasons exclusively, whether he liked it or not, as he is only counted as having played 1 year in the NFL (despite being in the league for several years). So they could have given him minimum deals the next 2 seasons, like an undrafted free agent and he would have to wait for each season to get that. Now, they have given him a 2 year contract, likely with a bump in pay (that they didn't need to do) and a little bonus, since he's made little in the NFL so far. He had to sign it, as he has no leverage at all. Basically, they gave him some security and more pay to keep him from being bitter about not getting to start for another team. And he accepted, as he realized he didn't have any other choice.2 points

I’ve been wondering if this signing makes it easier to trade him.2 points
-
But they can win the whining contest. Trey has 2 clear choices - make $29M for the next two years or make zero. Black meet white, grey has been dismissed.2 points

I would genuinely like to see a link to some sort of source or report that last years deal was intimated as a bridge to a long term deal because I haven't seen that anywhere. From what I see, he was coming off a bit of a down year with only 8 sacks, the FO gave him a $15M extension which is more than generous for that type of year, and he's mad that he signed it after now having a career year. What am I missing?2 points

Switch out Fautana for Fashanu and I am on board with that list in that order.1 point

And if that occurs I'll be very happy with the pick. Guyton and Paul and Morgan are lower tiered imo. ..Alot lower.1 point

The Big Four for me in no real order - Fautanu/Fuaga/Latham/Mims. One of those four will be picked at 18 tonight.1 point

I doubt any 350lb or up OTs have happy feet.. Trent Brown is 370 and doubt he's a gazelle...Same with Zeus.. Also.. Lathem's tape is at 360. He's down to 342 now which will help him move better.1 point

But the day before the draft is EXACTLY when you would expect a request like this. Ditto Higgins reaffirming his desire to be traded. If a veteran player is going to be traded, it will be for draft picks. Both Hendrickson and Higgins will not get their wishes granted though. Deep down they probably know it, even if their agents don't.1 point

Hell yeah, the chime and the old school NFL Primetime music is why I watch the ESPN broadcast of the Draft rather than NFL Network1 point

Nice find and thanks for posting. Latham is all over the place, isn't he?1 point

If anyone has any videos of Latham smoking weed or doing something stupid, now is the time to leak them...we need some hackers to get on this asap, who has a connections on the dark web...looking at you BJ...1 point

Agreed. The Latham and Murphy dreams are probably dead. Id love to see how they have these tackles stacked up. I suspect they have Latham up top.1 point

Thank you very much! I knew they had him for at least this season, because that was pointed out last year when people on Twitter started screaming "He'll be a starter somewhere next year!" But I didn't realize it was two more seasons. Good to know, good for the Bengals, and maybe not so good for him.1 point
-
Who's on the side of the FO? It's a dick a move to the coaches and the team he's a part of. We can't know how slighted he might feel about the business side of it, but as talking heads pointed out he chose to sign that one year deal when he could have just bet on himself instead - that's on him. If he believed some vague future promise from the Bengals FO then he wasn't paying attention.1 point
-
This is a more eloquent way to put it. I love him on the roster. At this price. And maybe higher, but not much and not longer. Someone will pay for him and then give him a long term contract he won't finish.1 point
-
I tend to agree with this. No doubt he's been great, but his back issues at his age concerns me. If he wasn't making these demands I'd keep him, but I'd be okay with trading him now.1 point
-
Trey: "You need to pay me more money or I'll just quit playing altogether." Mike: (leans forward slowly and whispers) "Did you forget who the fuck you're talking to?"1 point
-
These aren't the old Bengals they have paid many players what they have deserved and more He can take a hike and I hope if he plays he's not a distraction to the team1 point
-
Fucking retire then. And sky-point your way right out the fucking door.1 point

Nobody has said anything about the Bengals going back on a verbal deal, including Trey. He signed an extension and then had a career year so thinks it should get him another raise. But the team can't give every player a yearly raise who outperforms their contract, especially with a salary cap. He made the wrong bet on himself by accepting too little and now wants a mulligan. Tough shit.1 point
-
The Bengals bet him on being a star player and won the bet. Fair and square. The players can't win every contract.1 point

The team isn't going to trade him and under the CBA, he can't afford to hold out. So unless some other team wants to offer us a haul, he isn't going anywhere.1 point

Buffalo apparently wet to trade up from 28 for a wide receiver. That will push a guy we want down lower into our wheelhouse. One of the primo OT's. Murphy will be gone. unfortunately.1 point

Bowers, Q Mitchell, Arnold, Thomas, Mims, Fuaga, Fautanu Maybe JPJ or DeJean1 point

That's not a very attractive proposal for the county. The team wants the county to pick up 86% of their requested improvements in exchange for a 5 year lease extension. No word on whether the rent under the extension covers the county's operating costs. The county should remind the team that threats to move don't carry much weight. Under the Modell law the county can force a sale of the team to a local owner with the price either set by negotiation or if that fails by a jury via the standard eminent domain process.1 point

^ Looks like they took the Bengals helmet logos off the new seats. 🤔 And that the green 'jungle' color scheme is here to stay (over orange and black).1 point

At a time when some cities are ponying up over a billion dollars for an NFL stadium, 300 million for renovations is likely par for the course and not unreasonable. Especially as having an NFL franchise is a luxury that many cities would gladly pay for. To those who say "Have the billionaire owners pay for their own damn stadium!", I get the sentiment, but why would they, when other cities see the communal value in their product and are willing to subsidize them?1 point

If true re OT and if 4-5 QBs go in the first half too… that would potentially leave guys like Murphy or even one of the elite WRs available… like Odunze. Here’s 19 names, including 5 QBs, 5 Ts, and 4 WRs who could all go in the top 20. Depending on the order, or if there’s someone unanticipated like Barton or Powers-Johnson who slips in there… could be a find for the Bengals. Ya never know. QB - 5 - Caleb, Daniels, Maye, Penix, McCarthy WR - 4 - Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, Thomas TE - 1 - Bowers OL - 6 - Alt, Fashanu, Fautanu, Fuaga, Latham, Mims DL - 2 - Turner, Murphy DB - 2 - Arnold, Mitchell1 point

Per my previous post... I am more worried about Jackson Powers-Jackson doing this and he will be there waiting when the Steals make their pick. As far as trades, I think that is more likely to happen for us in Round 2. Our 49 plus the freebee second third rounder to move up... for a slider.1 point

^ Local worthless Cincinnati politicians better not fuck this up and try to run off the Bengals. "Accountability" for tax payers is a nice idea, but if they aren't going to apply it to military spending or foreign aid, then don't decide to be principled with one of the few joys we have left in this pre-apocalyptic hellscape. (gets off soapbox)1 point

I don’t think they will take anyone not worth the pick, so I don’t think I have a puke pick. But if they pass on a quality RT I will not be happy. Protect. The. Franchise.1 point

I am sick of every NFL team relying on dark navy blue. Brighter colors look better on helmets and jerseys. The dark navy and greens / grays reminds me of something that came out of a soulless, boring corporate focus group. Also bring back colored facemasks. Every helmet on the right is FAR BETTER than than the ones on the left.1 point

Given the absolute thieves the bengals have become trying to steal my tickets, games i cannot make, i will have for sale at face value or REALLY close, at minimum way cheaper than market value. So if you need a pair or two pairs, let me know, I am in section 111 and 106, behind the bengals sideline/bench. figured id post it so its on peoples minds when the season hits. Ill post week by week or as I know my travel plans as they arrive.1 point
