Trey Hendrickson is a power rusher that left many games with back issues and is 29. Trade him. He will never get to where he was last year. He doesn't have pass rush moves. He has a motor.

My take on this list: Agree, Zac's calls are fun - but I enjoy almost any call like this across the league. These are usually typical fare, but for whatever reason in Ja'marr's year it was incredible, so many revealing moments. Phoniest shit ever, I hate the Goodell hugs. I, too, salivate like Pavlov's dog at the ESPN draft chime. Reading draft grades is ok, usually all over the place - personally I like digging out and reading every draft profile and highlight reel I can find about every Bengal pick. Eh, never really cared too much about Mr. Irrelevant, it's called that for a reason no? Not much of a label for the actual person? Nice for Brock Purdy though. What, is he serious? Next year's mocks have already started!

If the agent only has one other name client, then that leads me to believe that he, as I just told a client and fellow Bengals fans "does not know with whom he is messing". My client asked if it was because of Mike Brown's cheapness and I said no, because it was because of Mike Brown's principles. Basically he's going to say "Shut up and play." or "Shut up and retire."

You are winning me over. Better to trade him a year too early than a year too late. Age and back issues are a concern. I say there's a good chance he retires after next year no matter where he is. I'm also thinking no team would give all that much for him in a trade, anyway. Great guy and addition to the team but his best football days are behind him.

He’s their only pass rushing threat that's proven… they are keeping him. I’m sure he wants longer term security… who doesn’t? He got an extension last year and he happily signed it, so let him play out this year, see how he does, see how his back and overall health are, and also see how Murphy and Ossai perform. Then decide. For now, nothing changes.

The Bengals controlled Browning's rights for the next 2 seasons exclusively, whether he liked it or not, as he is only counted as having played 1 year in the NFL (despite being in the league for several years). So they could have given him minimum deals the next 2 seasons, like an undrafted free agent and he would have to wait for each season to get that. Now, they have given him a 2 year contract, likely with a bump in pay (that they didn't need to do) and a little bonus, since he's made little in the NFL so far. He had to sign it, as he has no leverage at all. Basically, they gave him some security and more pay to keep him from being bitter about not getting to start for another team. And he accepted, as he realized he didn't have any other choice.

I would genuinely like to see a link to some sort of source or report that last years deal was intimated as a bridge to a long term deal because I haven't seen that anywhere. From what I see, he was coming off a bit of a down year with only 8 sacks, the FO gave him a $15M extension which is more than generous for that type of year, and he's mad that he signed it after now having a career year. What am I missing?

Agree.. I think Alt, Fuaga and Lathem will be gone. Mims only knock is inexperience but the tools are there to be a very solid RT. I still believe if Mims is there they jump on it.

The fact that even if the Bengals wanted to, they couldn't give him a new contract right now is embarrassing for his agent. I'm guessing they approached the Bengals, the Bengals scoffed at it since they just extended him and he will be 30+ when the contract is over and as such isnt as likely to get the money he wants. Hopefully both sides can meet somewhere in the middle in 3 months. But if he is asking for a trade right now knowing the Bengals cant do a contract right now, it seems like that isn't likely. So what we are likely looking at is he is going to play for us the next 2 years and move on. So next year we should start looking at adding another DE, to pair with Murphy for the long term Don't even make the threat if you arent serious. The agent is making his client look stupid by asking for unrealistic demands. A quick search of the agents' website shows that his only other name client is Marquez Valdez Scandling, so maybe he sees Trey as his cash cow and is pumping his head with sweet nothings about him being underpaid because of the new deals that were signed this offseason. If he thinks the Bengals are going to trade Trey or extend him when there's no reason to do so then he is silly. Trey isn't going to retire, if he was seriously considering retirement, he wouldn't be asking for a trade....all of this was poorly timed and executed.. a big-time failure on the agent's part.

The only leverage he has even with trying to get a trade is the threat of retirement. I would be very surprised if that happened.

But the day before the draft is EXACTLY when you would expect a request like this. Ditto Higgins reaffirming his desire to be traded. If a veteran player is going to be traded, it will be for draft picks. Both Hendrickson and Higgins will not get their wishes granted though. Deep down they probably know it, even if their agents don't.

While I'm sure there is some truth to this, always remember that Florio is an avid Stealers fan so anything he writes negative about the Bengals should be taken with an enormous grain of salt.

Who's on the side of the FO? It's a dick a move to the coaches and the team he's a part of. We can't know how slighted he might feel about the business side of it, but as talking heads pointed out he chose to sign that one year deal when he could have just bet on himself instead - that's on him. If he believed some vague future promise from the Bengals FO then he wasn't paying attention.

This is a more eloquent way to put it. I love him on the roster. At this price. And maybe higher, but not much and not longer. Someone will pay for him and then give him a long term contract he won't finish.

I tend to agree with this. No doubt he's been great, but his back issues at his age concerns me. If he wasn't making these demands I'd keep him, but I'd be okay with trading him now.

Nobody has said anything about the Bengals going back on a verbal deal, including Trey. He signed an extension and then had a career year so thinks it should get him another raise. But the team can't give every player a yearly raise who outperforms their contract, especially with a salary cap. He made the wrong bet on himself by accepting too little and now wants a mulligan. Tough shit.

The Bengals bet him on being a star player and won the bet. Fair and square. The players can't win every contract.

The team isn't going to trade him and under the CBA, he can't afford to hold out. So unless some other team wants to offer us a haul, he isn't going anywhere.

Buffalo apparently wet to trade up from 28 for a wide receiver. That will push a guy we want down lower into our wheelhouse. One of the primo OT's. Murphy will be gone. unfortunately.

If true re OT and if 4-5 QBs go in the first half too… that would potentially leave guys like Murphy or even one of the elite WRs available… like Odunze. Here’s 19 names, including 5 QBs, 5 Ts, and 4 WRs who could all go in the top 20. Depending on the order, or if there’s someone unanticipated like Barton or Powers-Johnson who slips in there… could be a find for the Bengals. Ya never know. Per my previous post... I am more worried about Jackson Powers-Jackson doing this and he will be there waiting when the Steals make their pick. As far as trades, I think that is more likely to happen for us in Round 2. Our 49 plus the freebee second third rounder to move up... for a slider.

I am sick of every NFL team relying on dark navy blue. Brighter colors look better on helmets and jerseys. The dark navy and greens / grays reminds me of something that came out of a soulless, boring corporate focus group. Also bring back colored facemasks. Every helmet on the right is FAR BETTER than than the ones on the left.
