  1. Wonder how that will look on Katie's Letter to the Fans (announcing season ticket purchases): "We set out to be bad, so that we could draft a potentially great offensive tackle. Get your tickets now!
  2. When the plays were called as quick hitters and slants, he was on target. When they were called to go 15-20 yard sideline patterns, they weren't. So why weren't more of the ones that could go called?
  3. If Higgins plays--along with Uno--why couldn't this "PS QB" make some hay? He had better stats with just Uno and the Dancing Tight Ends than Justin Fields Justin Herbert Brock Purdy Jalen Hurts Bryce Young Joshua Dobbs Will Levis Geno Smith Lamar Jackson Tim Boyle Desmond Ritter Russell Wilson Always look on the Sunny Side of the Street!
  4. On top of that, many high schools employ the same offenses. Two levels to unlearn/relearn before one might get a good NFL lineman.
  5. Enough with the State Farm Chiefs already! 😡
  6. If it’s a help: the Jag’s defense is 20th ranked—4th against the run, but 29th against the pass.
  7. Oh man...had forgotten completely about Eddie. Thanks for the reference! 😄
  8. Roster Moves: Jaguars Place Robinson on Reserve/Injured List and Sign an OL to the Active Roster Nov 27, 2023 at 03:50 PM https://www.jaguars.com/news/roster-moves-jaguars-place-robinson-on-reserve-injured-list-and-sign-an-ol-to-th
  9. Didn't he have some injury this year too? Thought I saw that in passing somewhere.
  10. For that matter, so was Bruce Reimers. But he was about as mobile as a telephone booth, so guard was about all he could play once out of Iowa.
  11. But…but…but…Bryce Young had almost as good a day yesterday as…Jake Browning!
  12. I thought mediocrity were the years 2011-2015? It’s what I read here anyway.
  13. Great. Then he’ll be stuck with those 52 other embarrassments next season too.
  14. And I have no idea what you are arguing for. You appear to be saying “gee everybody (including team/FO/Fans) let’s quit. We’ll get that magic bullet #7 spot draft pick—which we never miss on!”. All I have read recently is that the brain trust who will be running the picking show, can’t hit their backsides with either hand. What difference then is draft position? Plus, if they are so reliant on a constantly injured QB (blessed be his name), what the hell good is a 4th place schedule—since the less than useless backup won’t be able to win anyway. At this juncture, it is all immaterial anyway. The more they lose, the happier people will be. I just don’t ever want to see some pious “They quit!” admonishments from a fanbase that has already quit.
  15. Whatever those stirring wins in lost years back then may have cost them with those sainted draft picks…they were never able to draft anyway, so I never did get upset. Made the drives home more worth getting cold and rained on. Since what I have read recently here indicates this version of organizational drafters isn’t worth the shot and powder to blow their noses, why not give winning a chance? What are they going to lose? A Volson? A Charlie Fizzle?
  16. Move on to who? Another Charlie Fizzle or Andrei Whatzit? And I thought first or second round WR’s are a no-no…because they are a dime a dozen in later rounds? Or something
  17. Indeed. They will take a tackle and try and make him a guard—even though he is only a tackle (see Carman, Jackson)
  18. Great—you made my point…although still sticking to a “QB only” argument. It is the sum of the parts which makes the machine go. Although… ”Mister we could use a man like Billy Kilmer again…” Good takes, my friend.
  19. Again…that is the “QB only” argument. If the CFT, DEN…heck let’s throw in the #4 Seed ATL and the (now) #5 Seed Stealers while we are at it…can be in the thick of things with XFL QB’s, washed out veterans, Desmond Ritter, and Kenny Freaking Pickett, why are the Bengals—with all of the vaunted weapons/minds not? It’s not the same era as Billy Kilmer, for certain; but not that insanely so. Where are the weapons? Defense? Minds? I was under the impression that this was such an uber-talented franchise, that it could cruise to Las Vegas regardless.
  20. Who gives a crap who is at QB? I thought this defense was upper level quality? I have been told the offense has more weapons than very few others. What about genius defensive coordinators/offensive minds? If the CFT can compete …if the Denver freaking Broncos can compete—all without that essential “franchise QB”…shouldn’t the Bengals? Oh yeah—that shit offensive line. It’s all that. Well, if that is true… then St Joseph still was at 5-5 before today. Where were those weapons and genius minds before? And, as I mentioned, BUF is at 6-6 WITH their Superman QB. I don’t think they are worrying about the draft just yet.
  21. When the erstwhile HC/OC call for continuous 15-20 yard sideline patterns out of said backup QB, when quick hitters were working early on…thus loosening up the box-stuffing so lead RB can run.
  22. I wish there was a sarcasm font. CFT working with their practice squad and XFL QB’s. DEN with their washed up QB. Fans think only teams with non-injured QB’s need to concern themselves with playoffs. The rest ( like CIN) only need to talk about the draft. For that matter, BUF is now 6-6–WITH its Superman QB. Their fans should also talk about the draft. Looking at the Bengals, they are still in a playoff run. If CFT and DEN haven’t given up, why should they?
