  1. If they're acquitted somehow, they'll be quickly deported. More likely they go to prison and whether they are deported when released will be up to a future administration.
  2. Not really. The Bengals don't have a pure fullback, with Sample filling that role at times. If they want to get bigger for a short yardage situation, there is a limited buffet of options. A 300lb guy who has better than average movement skills for his size seems about right. Also, the question isn't whether Lee or Karras can replace Kappa (or Volson). It's whether or not the Bengals extend Karras or see Lee as Mayor Ted's successor. If the Bengals miss on a guard on day 2 of the draft, I wouldn't mind them picking Seth McLaughlin on day 3. He can play center or guard and can run block. He'll need a redshirt year coming back from his achilles injury so he will be underrated as a 2025 prospect.
  3. Seems like a desperate and unimaginative hire. McDaniels will have less to work with this time compared to when he had Brady, Gronk, Welker, etc.
  4. Bradley Chubb didn't play a snap last season. More significantly Sheldon Rankins has never been as good a player as Calais Campbell. Every year of Rankins' career, Campbell was a better player. When the better player wants less money and is famously a high character guy, sign him. But apparently Duke has a rule against signing older players even if the younger player isn't as good. It's time to reconsider such rules if it hurts the team.
  5. He's about to be coached by Peters who has a completely different system. Supposedly it's based on "strikes", ie handwork more than footwork.
  6. Tomlin is a good coach. The NFL is a passing league and he got them to the playoffs with not much at QB or WR.
  7. Lee was well regarded by Gridiron Grading. They chart players based on college performance and athleticism. Lee scored well on both those metrics. The knock on him is that he's small and not especially strong but after 5 years in college, he might be maxed out already. The folks behind GG are Bengals fans and connected with Bengals media like Goodberry and Rapien. So Lee was probably more highly regarded by Bengals fans than most other team's fans.
  8. He has good references but the NE line was bad last year and Vrabel didn't keep him when he was presumably already under contract.
  9. Florio's theory is the Bears called the Stealers, not with an expectation that Tomlin is available, but to signal to potential hires that they are willing to pay up for a coach. Tomlin is thought to be one of the 5 highest paid NFL HCs and Ben Johnson supposedly got 13.5 mil on his new deal. That's better than typical new head coach money of around 8 mil. Of course Zac probably still doesn't make that much.
  10. In Cleveland, he was the assistant. Bill Callahan was the main OL coach there and he's known as a top guy.
  11. SB Nation has their free agency rankings out and they have Gesicki rated as the top TE. Higgins and Hill were also rated as the top FA at their positions. He was a free agent last year and didn't get much offered. I doubt he increased his value this year, even with more playing time in the regular defense.
  12. Calais Campbell played in 17 games last year. He had 5 sacks, 12 QB hits, 5 passes defensed, 1 fumble forced, and 12 tackles for loss. He also played for $2 mil. But instead we signed Rankins for 6 times that and less than half the productivity. Perhaps Duke should learn from his mistakes.
  13. That would probably be overkill and also risky if we're counting on rookies to come through as starters. We'll probably carry 9 OL on the 53 man roster. Brown, Mims, Karras, are locks. Ford is likely to return. Probably Volson as well. Lee and Kirkland are likely too. I'd like to find at least 1 starting guard in free agency. And probably a DT or DE there as well.
  14. Didn't Alexander sign off on Billy Price too? And Russell Bodine? And Eric Ghiaciuc? Etc.
  15. I wonder if we hire Golden this week then draft Morrison in round 1, Watts in round 2 and maybe Mills and Kiser on day 3 in April. If we sign a free agent pass rusher, that would make over our defense.
