  1. I like Dobbins and if he's willing to take a cheap 1 year prove-it deal, that would be fine. But I'd rather sign Gus Edwards.
  2. Please don't draft Latham. There are plenty of good tackles in this draft, let's not pick one who's destined to bust.
  3. I saw someplace predicting the Bengals would trade our 2nd rounder to Washington for Jonathan Allen. He's a good player but it's not very Bengal-like to trade for an expensive veteran.
  4. If we're getting 2019 LSU players together, pass on CEH but Terrace Marshall should be available cheap.
  5. It's unfair to Araiza to group him in with rapists and women-beaters.
  6. Karras will be 31 before this season starts so he'd be 32 at the start of any extension. He wasn't in great demand when he signed with us so I doubt he'd be too expensive to extend. JPJ would require our first round pick but would be a luxury.
  7. Depends on who they replace Stidham with. Payton is a good coach. I could see them taking Bo Nix in round 2 and getting good production from him.
  8. We also need a succession plan at center. Are they going to re-sign Karras and break their rules about 3rd contracts and players over 30? If not, we should try to find someone soon. Trey Hill ain't it. Neither is Max Scharping.
  9. Not sure why Latham gets so much love. You'd think people would have learned the danger of drafting Alabama O-line in round 1 after Evan Neal, Chance Warmack, Alex Leatherwood. Is Jonah Williams the best first rounder from Bama this century?
  10. Denver will cut Wilson before his 2025 salary becomes guaranteed. They will designate him as one of their 2 permitted post-June 2 cuts so the dead money hit is split between 2024 and 2025. So Russ will be a free agent the first week of free agency in not quite a month from now.
  11. I don't mind using a pick on a punter. We have 9 picks this year but I wouldn't use one before round 5. Taylor may or may not be available then.
  12. This is a pretty good CB class. I don't think it's a first round need for us. Depending on what we get in free agency, a first round tackle plus 3rd round CB is probably a better combo for us than first round CB plus 3rd round RT.
  13. They kept Sample in the backfield to block sometimes because Mixon and Brown weren't very good at it. Any TE should be a better blocker than a RB. They used Sample as a blocker because he's not much of a route runner or downfield threat. He's adequate as a blocker but also pretty limited as a TE. I wouldn't be surprised if the team re-signs him but he's not in line for a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract.
  14. They had Burrow, Chase, and Hendrickson as the Bengals blue chip players.
  15. Not a fan of McCarthy or Penix as NFL starters. Williams might be great. Daniels too. I'd take them ahead of Maye. If a team is only looking for someone better than Stidham or Ridder or Mac Jones, then Bo Nix might do that job.
  16. Dak has them by the short and curlies. His cap number for the last year of his current deal is about 60 mil. So they need to sign him to a new contract to drop his cap number so they can re-sign Lamb and extend Parsons. So he'll take $56 mil or whatever on a 5 year extension.
  17. Williams struggles more with Garrett than Lael Collins did. I'm not in favor of bringing Collins back and doubt anyone else is.
  18. Where does the notion that Sample is better than average come from? He's adequate. PFF ranked him the 14th best blocking TE and 35th overall. That level of production can be replaced by a day 3 draft pick.
  19. The tag number at 21.7 mil is probably more than Tee's open market value. He has no reason to complain.
  20. I think Tupou is an adequate backup NT. If Reader is unlikely to be back for the start of the season, I think we move on. The Bengals don't like giving 3rd contracts or signing players who are 30 or older. If DJ were healthy, an extension for a year or two might be in the cards. But older players don't get healthier. Zach Carter hasn't been very good and is a drop off from Hill. So I wouldn't be surprised if instead of re-signing Reader or going big for Jones or Madubuike, we sign a couple of mid-priced options, then draft one too. We can maybe get Sweat in round 2 but can most likely get Jenkins there. We could probably get 1 of Murphy or Newton in round 1 if we want to use a pick there. I wouldn't though. I'd just sign a couple of mid-priced vets, one more a pass rusher, and move on to other positions.
  21. Wilson is guaranteed 39 million from the Broncos this year (subject to offset). They'll cut him before the date early in the league year where they would have to guarantee him another 35 mil for 2025. The oddsmakers have Pittsburgh as the favorite to sign him. Wilson's floor is certainly higher than Pickett's. George Paton should have been fired as the Denver GM after trading for Wilson, extending him on a bloated contract (which didn't even start until 2024), and hiring Paul Hackett. Sean Payton is a good coach but he's mishandled the QB he inherited. Now Denver has cap problems, are short of players on rookie deals, and need a new QB. Not good.
