  1. Thanks! That's all the endorsement most of us will need to vote Krumrie in. Do you know Jim Cramer by any chance?
  2. Our STM account includes 4 households. One of them voting clearly on popular names they recognize which skewed our polling results. But after tallying the inputs, we voted for Timmy and Norman. My ballot was Krumrie Parrish Trumpy (1-2-3)
  3. A few days ago, the owners approved a one-year trial for late-season Thursday Night flexes. Weeks 13-17 only. Any flexed game will require 4 weeks notice. Our home games during this period are Indy and Minnesota. The proposal passed 24-8 with the Giants, Jets, Packers, Bears, Raiders, Lions, Bengals and Stealers all voting against it.
  4. Broncos will be okay. They have a second kicker named Brandon McManus they can use.
  5. And missed much of Year One due to that knee injury against the Redskins.
  6. Yes.... I'm 6' even. Joe is wearing a helmet and standing on a 1" riser, but 6' 4" is accurate.
  7. Voting is now open: https://www.bengals.com/news/bengals-ring-of-honor-voting-2023-season The same 13 finalists from 2022 make up the 2023 ballot. No new names were added this year to replace last year's enshrinees.
  8. Linky: https://www.bengals.com/photos/photos-2023-ben-gal-cheer-squad Two redheads this year, two! One natural, and one artificial. (Sophie Q.) (Ashley M.) I'm old and Amish, so nobody cares what I think of course. I prefer natural, but a I gotta admit that any gal not lucky enough to be born red but who fixes God's oversight with a dye job earns bonus points from me.
  9. Lemme know when your plans firm up. I don't yet know which games I'll be at - three households sharing two seats and we've not done our draw yet - but I've already "defensively" booked rooms at the Ikea Aloft or the CVG Courtyard for most of the games - I managed to get a spot in the AC Banks using an expiring 35K award certificate for the Bills game. I know I will NOT be at the preseason Packers game (medical stuff) or Turkey weekend Stealers game (family stuff). But if our schedules overlap, and our hotel neighborhoods overlap, we should get together ... even if just for Swedish Meatballs in West Chester. PS if staying near CVG I just park in the Kenyon Co garage in downtown Covington next to Clooney Spiral and just walk over the river. Easy access to Grail if I have time and don't mind standing nuts to butts with jackholes (LT thinks the Grail is awesome, not that there's anything wrong with that), and an easy walk to the stadium with multiple approach paths to avoid the grifters and panhandlers.
  10. Go: Lemme ax you sumfin off-topic. When you jet in for a game, where do you typically stay? I've only got a 2.5 hour one-way commute, but the days of daytripping to/from Cincy for games are behind me. I'm retired, dammit, I've got a grillion Marriott points and I can afford to stay over. I typically stay either in West Chester (near the IKEA), near CVG, or if I can score a spectacular deal I'll stay right downtown within walking distance. Now that Marriott has begun installing Tesla Destination Chargers at a few of their properties (West Chester Aloft, CVG Courtyard) it's even easier to narrow down my choices. And if push comes to shove I can always crash with friends. But back to you - what do YOU do when overnighting? Friends? Hotel? Nice warm bridge underpass?
  11. Damn.... as a guy who loves crunching numbers, that article impresses the hell out of me!
  12. ^ bump It's about time for the team to announce the ballot for the ROH Class of 2023. Literally, any day now.
  13. Ryan and the Clots are just doing some pre-camp maneuvering to free up the spot for Jeff Saturday's QB debut in August.
  14. Umm.... maybe because there are so many snowbirds from the north and illegals from the south that the team needs to reminds their home crowd where they are? Maybe? Eh, I got nothing.
  15. Stay classy, Kansas City.... Linky: https://dailysnark.com/2023/03/28/chiefs-super-fan-who-was-arrested-for-robbing-a-bank-has-cut-off-his-leg-monitor-and-is-on-the-run/ Chiefs Super-Fan Who Was Arrested For Robbing A Bank Has Cut Off His Leg Monitor And Is On The Run The story of Kansas City Chiefs super-fan, ChiefsAholic, just keeps getting crazier. Xavier Michael Babudar, known by his nickname “ChiefsAholic” was arrested last December for allegedly robbing a bank while armed in Bixby, Oklahoma. His bail was set at $200,000. Michael Lloyd, who’s Babudar’s Bondsman, told Benedetto Vitale that Babudar has cut of his leg monitor and has been on the run from authorities since Saturday and at this time, it’s currently unknown where Babudar is. Vitale then asked Lloyd if there were any potential leads on Babudar’s whereabouts. Vitale explained that Babudar is “close” with his mother and brother, but those two “left Tulsa about two hours before Babudar even cut off his leg monitor.”
  16. Linky: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/lamar-jackson-could-sit-out-2023-nfl-season-why-ravens-star-qb-should-do-it-and-why-he-shouldnt/ ".....multiple outlets, from ESPN to NFL Media, have now reported or speculated that Jackson could end up sitting out the 2023 season entirely. There's no current indication, even from desperately QB-needy teams, that Jackson is a viable target. Jackson, meanwhile, has gone public with a trade request from the Ravens, suggesting he's already disenfranchised with Baltimore's efforts to retain him. Assuming neither side budges, the reasoning goes that the QB could simply refuse to sign the tag, avoid penalties for holding out, and attempt to reenter the market in 2024."
  17. Adam Schefter: "Former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $8.5 million with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per sources. Mayfield is now in line to be Tom Brady’s successor." Funny thing, April 1st isn't for a couple of weeks yet.
  18. I haven't voted yet, but the two names I would add to the list to bring them back up to 15 would be; Geno Atkins - The only Bengal named to multiple 1st Team All-Pro Teams (2012, 2015) not already on the Ring or on the Nominee list, and 2nd all-time in Pro Bowl appearances (8), trailing only Anthony Muñoz (11). Andrew Whitworth - 2nd round selection in 2006. Eleven seasons in Cincy. Started every game but the first four during his rookie season, a then-record 170 consecutive games including six playoff starts. Three Pro Bowls, two All-Pros (including 1st Team in 2015).
  19. Going under the presumption that two more honorees will be enshrined in the Ring next season, which of this year's remaining nominees would get your vote, and what two individuals should be added to the list to replace Willie Anderson and Isaac Curtis? For the poll, I am presuming that the 14th and 15th nominees will NOT be enshrined in 2023, as anyone that influential would've likely been nominated ahead of the other 13 who have already appeared at least one time on the ballot. If voting, please select two. There is no way to enforce this, so let's use the honor system. 2023 BENGALS RING OF HONOR NOMINEES Jim Breech James Brooks Cris Collinsworth Corey Dillon Boomer Esiason David Fulcher Chad Johnson Tim Krumrie Dave Lapham Max Montoya Lemar Parrish Bob Trumpy Reggie Williams
  20. Oh I dunno, Orange and Black unis did pretty well last time against these assholes....
  21. I see UK's 2016/17 squad is doing better than normal. Congrats. Though I hear that 2017/18 is going to be another rebuilding year after this year's team o' freshmen all do their inevitable one-and-done tango. I gotta tip my hat, though. Renting players for one season before they turn pro or flunk out on academic ineligibility has proven quite successful. I wish more programs would scrap the silly notion that they're fielding "student athletes" and just follow UK's example.
  22. For me, Duke are the Patriots. Nearly no reason at all to root for them, but if they're playing Pittsburgh, reluctantly, I'll pull for them.
  23. Nice season KY. Too bad that Calipari will have to rebuild after all 16 players graduate this year - again. It may he a while before KY is relevant again with all that turnover. And thank you Wisconsin. Now I don't have to root for Duke.
