Newton for sure.
Could you imagine a young nucleus
of Newton and Sweat manning the interior?
I may need to see a doctor in about 4 hours.

Beat me to it. If we trade better get something good like a second rounder plus

Lets say when 18 comes around the Bengals have a choice between Newton/Murphy/Latham/Mims/Guyton. Who do you take? I think I'd lean towards DL and hope someone 2nd tier slips to the second. As mush as Sweat has shown, being north of 350 is a huge red flag to me. Maybe Paul there?

Kiper put out a new mock this morn..
Was watching the NFL channel this morning (Mar 4) and they said Fuaga made himself a butt-load of money at the combine and could be the first tackle taken. If that's true he won't be there to take. Maybe Latham or Guyton? Or a DT? Any trench body is ok with me.

If we didn't have holes at DT and RT I wouldn't mind. A nice push up the middle sure would make the DBs look a lot better. And while I'm dreaming, with a good RT maybe the defense doesn't sniff the field except for pregame warmups. 🙂

Even if we signed Madubuike (Ha!) I'd still sprint o the podium if Murphy is still there. I'd even double dip later just in case. like peeps said.

If you use the Bates model, the Bengals would tag Tee this year and then also draft his replacement (Bryan Thomas Jr?) in Rd 1 ... The same as they did by taking Bates and then drafting Dax for his eventual replacement to learn under him for a year.
If they draft a WR in the first round I will shoot somebody (probably myself). If they tag and trade Tee I'd do my best to resign Boyd and maybe go WR in the 5th or later. We df=rafted Jones and Yoshi for a reason, lets see what they have first before replacing them.

360+ lb T'Vondre Sweat dominating at Senior Bowl
That weight is worrying. He's like 1 donut short of unemployment. To paraphrase Norm:
Zac: What are you up to, T' Vondre?
T'Vondre: My ideal weight... if I were 11 feet tall.

Agree on both points but as I've said before, you have to hit some some draft picks to free up the money for other places.

Never mind depth, they don't even have 5 quality starters. It's been like that for years and their attempts to fix it have been either half-assed or complete failures. Not drafting anyone last year despite all this and knowing the RT was on the way out as well defies explanation. Its like they've thrown up their hands in resignation but somehow ownership is ok with it.
List of o-linemen drafted by the Bengals in the "premium" rounds since Zac took over:
Jonah Williams
Jackson Carman

Maybe we should start calling the o-line the "Walmart Wall"?
I'm still half convinced the o-lines problems are coaching and not talent for the simple fact that no one can be that incompetent drafting players but I could be convinced otherwise.

Can you tell me if Brock Bowers is there you'd pass on him?
Yes. Joe Burrow can't throw from a wheelchair.

Cheap as in 5 mil or less. Not a guy on a minimum benefit veteran contract like Ford. Jermaine Eluemonor will be a free agent and was paid 3 mil last year. PFF ranks him as the 35th best tackle in the NFL, ahead of Brown or Williams.
Also rated better than both of them would be Morgan Moses who makes 5 mil per year but has another year on his contract.
George Fant ranked higher than Williams and will be a free agent. He made 3 mil on his last free agent deal.
Cam Fleming graded about the same as Jonah but only cost 2.5 mil. Yosh Nijman or Dan Skipper might also be options.
There are plenty of experienced, solid 28+ yr old tackles available who don't offer upside but do have floors higher than a rookie will offer the first half of the season.
Not saying you are wrong, but eventually they are going to have to start hitting on oline draft picks. Can't keep signing adequate to good linemen and expect to have enough money left to improve other areas. I want our first 4 pick to be split between olinemen and dtackles (of course i fully expect to be very disappointed come April).

Chiefs and Rams....because both needed ref help against the Bengals.

I like Bowers but is he really necessary considering other positions of great need?
I'm not as high on him as others.
If we take a skill position payer in the first 3 or 4 rounds I will have a freaking aneurysm. Meat and potatoes baby, lets try to keep Joe upright and at least attempt to stop the run. Going nowhere fast otherwise.

I think they built this team to beat the Chiefs, forgetting that you have to also win inside the division to make the playoffs to begin with.

I think if Murphy and/or Newton are still there @18 I'd pull the trigger rather than hope that Sweat and his excess tonnage are there in the 2nd. I wouldn't scream if they went OT (or Powers-Johnson) in the first but it seems there's more depth at OT. Regardless I think I'd double dip at OT and maybe grab an interior lineman also depending on how free agency pans out.
