Maybe Joe wants to play in NYC, LA, or a major market before his career is over. A short term extension makes a ton of sense for Burrow and he has the leverage. Cincy can't afford to be in a Lamar situation with Burrow, the townsfolk would riot. NFL teams are having to deal with a new dynamic of players having more leverage than ever in contract negotiations. Burrow is the vanguard of this new reality.
