  1. I rewatched that play a few times...I conceded the no catch because the ball did move in his hands between when his first foot came down and the second foot. Both calls on field were good calls IMHO.
  2. Terribly premature to think this...but...hopefully it doesn't impact the team's perceived need to sign Tee. The combination of JB, Chase, and Tee is what makes this team who they are IMHO...no slight to Lou's defense of course.
  3. The position groups that immediately pop into my head regarding this contact/no-contact/no-practice discussion are the WR's and DB's. They have to actually run the routes to learn the plays...and the DB's need to learn to cover guys like Chase. I think that's one of the reasons our secondary group has become so strong...its because those guys are learning, practicing, and refining against guys like Chase and Tee. So IMHO, no practice is out of the question. In the "no-contact" scenario these guys jump for balls, contest catches, etc and there is contact regardless. Arguably that's why a significant amount of training camp injuries are to these two position groups. Even if they were wearing orange jerseys there is contact. Also, as has been brought up numerous times, people can get hurt from whatever...weight training, jogging, etc as evidenced by JB's calf injury.
  4. My heart voted 6-0...but my head agrees with you. I really hope we don't lose to Cleveland though...they've had our number in recent past and let's just say I hope their QB follows the Browns tradition at that position.
  5. The real season can't get here soon enough so "writers" will have something at least somewhat factual to write about.
  6. Thanks guys...one of my favorite Bengal plays of all time. Never gets old or loses its luster...I smile everytime.
  7. Solid choice, no doubt. If the question was "What Bengal do you respect this most" then Whit and Munoz would be tops on my list. But "my favorite" to me has more to do with fun to watch so I gravitate to the skill positions like QB/WR that I wanted to aspire to. Admittedly that's a bit petty and obvious.
  8. Someone needs to find/post the clip of FB Peko trucking hairboy Palomino for the RB TD. Good stuff.
  9. Wow, really? I don't know where you live, but here is Cincinnati there has been a rash of people getting shot and killed over stupid little shit...even stupider than 2 angry drivers. Gun violence has gotten waaaaayyyyyyyy out of hand. People used to give others the finger, or shove eachother, or maybe even punch eachother over stupid shit...now people are pulling out their 9's from their waistband and capping eachother. I'm just saying it's a huge point of concern, emphasis, and action around here lately. Things need to change IMHO, and a high profile case like this is only going to draw more attention.
  10. As others have noted...I'd take Chase Brown off that list...not that he deserves to be in the "impressed by" list either...and add Carman to "NOT impressed by". Without any of the stars playing, I admit that I really wasn't watching all that closely though so YMMV.
  11. I have to say I was a little disappointed in Robbins last night. I'm sure part of it was my over-the-top expectations. With the exception of the 65 yarder that was *ALMOST* downed inside the 2 yard line, it was just kinda average to me. Hang times were probably above average, but that's not something that jumps out at you watching on TV. Again, my prolly unrealistic expectations were that his punts would be an "OMFG!!!" every single time.
  12. Virgil Carter -> Tommy Casanova -> Issac Curtis -> (Dark Years) -> Chad Johnson -> AJ Green -> Chase/JB Honorable mention to Kevin Kaesviharn & Andy Dalton just for Tibor and Go.
  13. I voted Yes for both...but...is it just my opponents bias or does Jefferson seem like much more of a Diva and "me first" than anyone we have? The locker room is so strong and cohesive now, so I would worry that someone who is more "me first" would really upset that dynamic. Jungle also brings up a great point about Higgins providing diversity in comparison to Jefferson and rest of our WR group.
  14. I thought one of the knocks on him was his blocking? Not a good look for blitz pickup for a 3rd down RB. Didn't a recent training camp report seemed to confirm that in RB blocking drills?
  15. Yeah, but its Kay Adams...exceptions are allowed and encouraged.
  16. Yeah fair points. However, and this may just be my interpretation/perception, but if we are talking playing the game today, I'm not sure that the coaching style Forrest had would be as effective? IMHO, the whole today vs the past, styles of play, styles of coaching, evolution of the game, etc, etc, were what made this exercise challenging and fun...and certainly debatable/discussionable (is that a word?) in an interesting way too. I love hearing peoples thoughts, recollections, and takeaways especially on the older stuff. I wasn't nearly as much of a fan back in the day and only casually followed and mostly only because they were the local team.
  17. No question Paul Brown was an awesome coach and terrific innovator for football. However, in keeping with the spirit of the question, I'm picking a coach now to win the big game today and with the way the game is played today. To me, that means motivating players, scheming against the opposition, and winning the game. That being said, my choices came down to Zac and Sam and ultimately Sam got my vote.
  18. Yeah, I'm confused...where was this information during the criminal court case? Not a fan of all this at all...something is rotten in Denmark if the only consequences are in Civil Court. Is there still some criminal proceedings out there or is this all there is at this point?
  19. Wow that sure puts a different spin on this incident...assuming all true of course.
  20. Definitely tough IMHO...I had to go with Zimmer but man I could have just as easily voted for Lou or LeBeau.
  21. Interesting stats...and interesting that you chose to include Jones' stats with Tennessee and Dallas and not just the Bengals. I'll add: Brandon Wilson (as a Bengal) returned 58 kickoffs for 1,542 yards (26.6 yards/return Bengals all-time leader) and took it to the house TWICE (Jones had zero TD's) However, I still go with Tremain Mack though...I think he was the most "electric" KR the Bengals ever had...albeit with a lower average than Jones or Wilson. Tremain Mack returned 146 kickoffs (Bengals all-time leader) for 3,583 yards (Bengals all-time leader) for an average of 24.5 yds/return and had 2 TD's.
  22. Pretty impressive considering he's only going to be, what, a Sophomore in HS this upcoming year?
  23. Did I miss something with these two? Did they get injured and I missed it with all the attention on JoeB?
