  1. Sorry, been on this ride too many times. The key phrase is always, “If they get decent pitching.” Also, the Stealers signing Patterson is an interesting move. If he still has some of that All-Pro return ability he could do some damage. Then again, this new rerun thing may be a bust. Guess we will see. Certainly gonna look goofy.
  2. Well, typically the Reds are already out of contention so I will take it.
  3. How many Super Soakers does the receiving team get to use? I do like the new rule that you can have your practice squad QB suit up on Gameday but it will be interesting to see how that works from a pay and vesting perspective.
  4. Unfortunately, there is truth to your opinion. People marvel at his size but that catches up with you like it seems to already have with him. Whit played at 6-7 325 most of his career. He had exceptionally quick feet for a tackle.
  5. Yeah, that is nice uni. I like the red and blue above as well.
  6. I agree. Things have gotten much better since the younger generation started to exert more control but how hard is it to look around at the other more successful franchises and copy what they do? They were literally handed a government protected money printing press where losing money actually takes effort. Don’t forget they also held the city hostage for a new stadium that the taxpayers of Hamilton county got to pay for. I don’t blame them, I would have done the same but there is a reason the US used to frown on monopolies. Clark Hunt inherited the Chiefs 14 years ago and has been the CEO for 17 years. There is no doubt he is as cheap an owner as you will ever meet but at least they win.
  7. I thought that only worked if your jersey was black and gold?
  8. How anyone could defend the utter garbage that Mike Brown and family put on the field for 30 years by pretending the last 4 years was business as usual is laughable. In 33 years, Mike Brown, who INHERITED THE team is 223-303-4. In a league with a real salary cap, that is terrible. The Browns sat back, had the league negotiate every TV deal, every collective bargaining agreement, accepted their cut and didn’t do anything to promote the league. No effort necessary. 5 playoff wins in 33 years, all 5 of them coming in the last 3 years. ACCOMPLISHMENTS GALORE! Are the Walton heirs rocket scientists? Is Trump a genius? Paris Hilton extraordinary? No, they were born into wealth. We got LUCKY. Lucky as hell. Pure luck that Joe Burrow is a generationally great QB and we sucked so bad we had the first pick. Utter fucking luck. Lucky his knee got blown out (a little sarcasm) and we got Chase the next draft. He fell into their lap because the team absolutely sucked. I suffered thru almost 3 decades of shit, screw them. Don’t you remember the 90s and the Carson Palmer era shit show? The Chris Henry saga?
  9. Mrs. SF2 might have a problem with that. So would my retirement fund.
  10. Wait, she was talking? All I saw was my future daughter in law.
  11. I dunno. The newer/safer onside kickoff rules have basically made the thing impossible. It works 3.2% of the time. That said, what was proposed looks like something only Harvard and Yale could figure out. The kickoff itself has become more ceremonial than anything. I know it has reduced injuries but has also taken out an exciting part of the game. 78% of kickoffs are touchbacks now. At least the NFL is thinking about ways to keep the game exciting. Baseball sat on its hands for 40 years as “purists” refused to make any changes. This allowed the analytics types to basically turn “America’s Pastime” into a boring, drawn out, long affair that has cratered in US popularity. They finally made changes to speed up the game but they lost a lot of ground. Better yet, the guy they have pinned their hopes to for more revenue (Ohtani) is about to get suspended for wiring millions of dollars to an illegal bookie in Cali. Sportsbook and Casino style gambling is still illegal in Cali.
  12. Any offensive lineman chosen in the 4th round or later is nothing more than a project. Few become starters. And offensive linemen who are FAs are usually old, not good or have baggage. Most teams will do almost anything to keep a good offensive lineman. Not defending Pollack, just saying this team has been woefully negligent in making lineman a priority in the draft recently. It may be the after effect of having drafted Ogbuehi, Billy Price and Jake Fisher high in the draft.
  13. Like getting in with Jack Browning as our QB was going lead to anything other than dropping more spots in the draft.
  14. To be fair, the Bengals have picked only one offensive lineman higher than the 4th round over the last 5 years and that was Carman at #46 in the second round. You are asking way too much of Pollack if all he gets are middle round picks and marginal or injury prone FAs. Kansas City has only one lineman chosen later than the 3rd round.
  15. Oh that wasn’t meant for you at all. And Le Tigre was 100% correct. Some douche just spouting nonsense for clicks.
  16. LOL. Comparing Jonah Williams to Trent Brown is laughable. Brown is a WAY better player. Zack Moss is light years better as a pass blocker so we don’t have to take him out on 3rd and 5 situations. Mixon is a terrible pass blocker. There is nothing unresolved about Tee Higgins, he will play under the franchise tag.
  17. My daughter, a former Skyline employee for 8 years, was none too happy when she heard they FINALLY switched to Coke. She hates Pepsi. As far as Brown is concerned, I don’t think the Patriots would throw him under the bus to be honest. In Brown’s defense, the whole Mac Jones era has been an unmitigated disaster so Brown may have simply checked out. It is hard to get motivated to block for a shit QB with no running game and zero talent at WR. The Patriots literally have no decent talent and ZERO speed anywhere.
  18. In Lawrence’s defense, his first year under Meyer was about as dysfunctional a season as anyone could have imagined. Both QBs went to trash organizations.
  19. Exactly. There is no market for Browning.
  20. I guess I would rather a band aide than a gapping wound.
