1. Yeah, he would probably bring John Wall (the Rivals.com #1 overall player-a strong lean to Memphis), and DeMarcus Cousins (the #2 overall player-committed but not signed). I'm not sure that Xavier Henry (#3 overall) or Nolan Dennis (#47 overall) would be allowed to transfer, but usually this is not an issue when there is a coaching change. Add that to #22 ranked Daniel Orton and #32 ranked Jon Hood, and go on Patterson and Meek's words that they'll be coming back, and your team looks like this: PG John Wall SG Jodie Meeks SF Darius Miller PF Patrick Patterson C Daniel Orton PG DeAndre Liggins F DeMarcus Cousins C Matthew Pilgrim SG Jon Hood PF Poptarts Stevenson SG Xavier Henry? SG Nolan Dennis? That's a pretty good NBA team, but I'm not sure how long Cal's success at UK would last before the NCAA came after us.
2. Calipari is a scumbag. Calipari=#22 It would be good for the team, but bad for the program, if that makes sense.
3. This just in, Alan Cutler is a huuuuuuge Douche.
4. It looks like they're going to hire who they should have hired 2 years ago... http://www.myfoxorlando.com/dpp/news/03270...van_leaving_UCF
5. wait...so Kentucky is going to have Patrick Patterson, along with Matthew Pilgrim and the #3 Center in 2009 (Daniel Orton) in their front court? Things are looking up, I'd wager.
6. LSU is a must-win, I think. Billy has me scratching my head anymore, but if we can him before the end of next year, the future looks very dire.
7. I missed the game, but I saw that Patterson didn't have the best night. Is he still hurt?
8. Compared to the Conference USA, we should be fine. 3 things wrong with this picture: Meeks scored his 54th on a Free Throw Why is his name on the front? That fire extinguisher on the bottom left
9. Meeks is finally being included in NPOTY talk, which is good. this meant something to me: http://cdn1.libsyn.com/deener/Issell_1.wav...2c9998986299953
10. Noone's talking about Meek's 54 points! A school record. We could be looking at an Elite 8 team if he stays healthy.
11. 41-37 over the Vols at the half. Jodie Meeks is 5-8 on 3pt shots (26 points total), and we could have an instant classic here.
12.
13. In other news, Jodie Meeks just went for 46 points against App. State.
14. The hits keep coming for BCG. Josh Harrelsson committed today over St. Louis, Indiana, OSU, etc., and Dominique Ferguson committed, as well. He is the #10 ranked player for 2010 and is a 6'9" Power Forward with a 7'5" wingspan.
15. Marvin Stone died today as well, at the age of 26. Also, Hopson committed to UT.
16. Tyler Hansbrough is probably the most overrated player (even for college) that I've ever seen. He is good at two things it seems: Taking the foul (something the ACC does with special talent, though I've never seen Hansbrough flop), and making teams pay from the charity stripe when he does get fouled. In three games against admittedly poor UK squads, he has averaged 9ppg and 8rpg. Not exactly All-American numbers. If Randolph Morris would have stayed another year, Tubby's decision to get Morris over Hansbrough would have looked a lot smarter, I think.
17. I'll be rooting for UT (or UofL) in a game against UNC.
18. Nah, we're all man-to-man. I love Perry Stevenson and think that he has become much better over the course of the year, but the Lopez twins could declare for the draft the day after the game with UK and both be picked in the NBA Draft. And they each have 5-6" on Stevenson IIRC.
19. Marquette will be a good game (revenge for the D Wade game! Fuck Tom Crean!), but now it's my turn to be chicken little. Their losses this year have been to teams like Georgetown, UConn, and UofL. Teams with a great inside presence. Something we don't have. IF we win that game, we get Stanford and the Lopez Twins. Unless Jared Carter eats Bill Russell's heart and gains his strength, they will tear us up inside.
20. That's not how it works. There isn't a set # of SEC schools that could get in. An UGA win bumps a bubble team, but Kentucky is not that, according to Joe Lunardi. He says we are the 9th or 10th team away from being out, and has only missed 10 teams over the last 8 years.
21. Are the Vols a #2 seed now? Did anyone else catch Pelphry telling Jajuan Smith to shut the fuck up? I need a .gif of that.
22. UNC went to the sweet 16 in 2002? with 18 wins. Georgia got in a few years back with 16 wins iirc. Our SOS and Last 12 figure heavily into the discussion, and Rivals.com still has us as a 9 seed. I've also heard that because of the snafu in Atlanta, the NCAA selection committee aren't going to place very much weight on these games. When is the last time a team with 12 wins in a power conference didn't get in? We're 2nd in the SEC East and if they send 4 teams, we HAVE to get in. Quit worrying about it.
23. Hard to say, but I like their NCAA chances. They got absolutely fucked on calls in that game, though
