  1. Late round/free agent fodder? Maybe Jackie Treehorn can give us a scouting report. Bengals meet with NFL Draft prospect from Toronto Argonauts Some players' journeys to the NFL are very different from others, and that can be exemplified in the 2024 NFL Draft with Toronto cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers. Stiggers played the 2023 season with the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts and, despite being born in America, never played college football. That hasn’t stopped the Cincinnati Bengals and many other NFL teams from showing interest in the former CFL star. According to Aaron Wilson. Stiggers has a visit planned with the Bengals on Wednesday. During his freshman year of college, Stiggers ended up dropping out due to a tragedy in his family while being there on scholarship. After a couple of years away from the sport, he eventually started back up in a small indoor football league, where former CFL offensive coordinator Josh Jenkins was coaching. He convinced Stiggers to try out and was able to help him get a tryout with the Argonauts, who eventually signed him. Despite his lack of playing experience, he played in all 16 games for the Argonauts as a rookie, recording 53 tackles and five interceptions. He was also named the CFL’s most outstanding rookie and named an East All-Star. Following that, Stiggers got some NFL interest as he received an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl, where he played well. He seems to have caught the attention of the NFL for sure, as he is represented on Day 3 of several large boards, such as Dane Brugler, who lists him as a sixth-round pick. The Bengals need a backup at outside corner for 2024 and beyond, and if Stiggers is available on Day 3, that could be a value too good to pass up on. He has all the size and measurables and was able to step into a league that, while not being the NFL, is still very competitive overall. He even had five interceptions in his debut season for the CFL, and with that being his first and only year playing real football since he graduated high school in 2020, that suggests he still has room to grow and develop as a player. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::; Article confusing in that did they already meet with him or are they going to meet with him Wednesday? Didn't read anything locally or on Bengals.com. Not a Precinct dinner kind of guy but probably good for a Skyline 4-Way and a few cheese conies. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I do not like the term "develop as a player" and it was used about a couple of the OT's in a previous post. But, as noted by others on here, the Bengals do have a lot of draft picks and can draft a couple to push borderline vets and contribute on special teams. Or even develop on the practice squad to step up and in when ready. We'll see.
  2. https://www.cincyjungle.com/2024/4/16/24124936/2024-nfl-draft-day-2-offensive-tackle-options-bengals Nice article on OT's who may be there and of interest for Round Two if the Bengals would go Byron Murphy in Round 1... which I would not mind at all. Some familiar names here.... Patrick Paul, Houston Javon Foster, Missouri Jordan Morgan, Arizona Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma Kingsley Suamataia, BYU All seem to have high upside but still... some "ifs", question marks and disclaimers but all have the dreaded Po-ten-tial. Dunno... could be a Jackson Carman or Dumwad Jones.
  3. I'm liking this guy more and more. Great upbeat attitude and seems like he really wants to be here. Hope he is here a lot longer than the one year contract. (assuming, of course, things work out well on the field)
  4. I really hope they don't move back and the Stealers get the guy we want. Ie... Mims. If the Steals end up with Mims and we don't have one of those F guys, I'll toss my cookies.
  5. I don't see them moving up in the first round (perhaps unfortunately depending on the way the cookie crumbles) because I can't see them giving up their number 18 and their second round choice to move up for someone who arguably may not be a lot better than who is there or who may slide. Now... our second and one of out thirds to move up higher for a slider (not a wide receiver) would be nice or even both our thirds for another second... But can't see them trading up in the first. Trade down... maybe. But I would still like to make a pick before Pittsburgh. If Nix or Penix are there at 18... someone will want them. In Pumpkin and Duke I Trust. As a P.S. After reading all the stuff here and about players they are bring in for a look-see... taking to dinner at Outback rather than The Precinct, I am really interested in Rounds 3-4 and perhaps lower where they go with a player with more meh underwear Olympic measurable but a real bad ass mammyjammer in pads on the field.
  6. While not really caring about other teams' uniforms I think the Rams jumped the shark when they went away from the curled horns on their helmets. Iconic and original. Like the Bengals going with stylized tiger stripes.
  7. Our new Bengals draft tee shirts arrived Saturday and the are really cool. Get one while you still can.
  8. OK... I admit it. What is RAS? I don't speak initials and abbreviations very well/
  9. Wait... wot? Black Jesus is not only a real person but also exists and you have seen him? Unbelievable. Come to think about it... I feel much the same way about you.
  10. Only because he was sitting down in it to pee. So glad he isn't a Bengal.
  11. He also drafted Kirby Criswell in the second round because he never heard of LSD.
  12. Sounds like Flounder Carman. btw... what are we going to do with that pant load this season? Keep him eating a roster spot because he's too much of a cap hit to cut?
  13. Paul Brown passed on Dan Marino when there reports that Marino smoked rope.
  14. If this guy is there in the 3rd round, he's a Bengal. Not impossible they trade up a bit to get him. I'd like it.
  15. I keep telling myself to stay away from the draft speculation stuff. NOT a dis toward anyone. Just confuses me more. As far as the draft personally... 1. I ordered draft tee shirts for my son and me simply because they are cool and won't be around long. 2. Starts too late, work too early. I'll catch up on ESPN's tracker or here the next day. 3. What if Mims is gone? Along with Bower and Murphy. I think other teams are liking him, too. 4. As far as inexperience... I remember when the Bengals drafted an OT who had missed his entire senior season except for a bowl game. I think Anthony Munoz turned out OK.
  16. https://yourbump.com/artist-created-nfl-qbs-women-try-laugh-7/9/ Preview: (you guess)
  17. Sounds like he was damaged goods and not getting any younger and the Bengals knew it. In Pumpkin I Trust.
  18. Photoshop fake or did Joe have some serious ink laid on his legs
  19. When you think about it, looking up at the white underneath side of a tiger is not a very pleasant position to find one's self in.
