With 10 picks the Bengals need to be willing to move up. But you can really only trade for a pick that's on the clock once you know who you can select with it. So don't expect any pre draft trades.

If there is an OT run and the Bengals will lose out on all the top 5-6 ... They have to be willing to package picks and be aggressive.

I cannot handle watching Mims throw Myles Murphy around like a rag doll for the next 5 years in a Squeelers uniform.

Per my previous post... I am more worried about Jackson Powers-Jackson doing this and he will be there waiting when the Steals make their pick.

As far as trades, I think that is more likely to happen for us in Round 2.

Our 49 plus the freebee second third rounder to move up... for a slider.

Yeah... going with "it has to be true because I read it on the internet'... I would not be surprised if this is to.

My first choice is Murphy but he will be long gone.

The four OT's I like who may or may not be there (not counting Alt) are

The Three F's,, Fautanu, Fashenu, Fuaga and Mims

I would go for a patented Bengals surprise move.

I would like to see Jackson Powers-Johnson in stripes, in the interior of the O line for a long time to come.

Paul Brown said "Start with a Center and build around him" (paraphrase)... and he took Bob Johnson.

And as much as I hate to say it, it is what the Stealers do.  Webster to Dawson to Pouncy ... how many decades of pro bowl and

eventual Hall of Fame centers?  Besides, if we don't get him the Stealers will and make meh running backs into all pros.

He would certainly open some holes in the middle of the line for Not Mixon to run through and if Mixon was still here it would

be someone else for him to run into and fall on his ass.

(OT... Mixon's sister's trial was yesterday for shooting that kid with a mini assault rifle)

My question about Jackson-Powers-JIngleheimer-Schmidt is he like Dave Rimington, too muscle bound to get his steroid

amped arms through his legs to snap the ball.

    Ain't gonna happen and TYVM

I don’t think they will take anyone not worth the pick, so I don’t think I have a puke pick. But if they pass on a quality RT I will not be happy. Protect. The. Franchise.

If they pass on a RT for anyone but Byron Murphy I will be unhappy.

If they do take Murphy in the first... pipe dream, he won't be there...

I would trade #49, #80 and #97 to the highest bidder and take the best O lineman with that pick

    including Centers and OG's.

With Duke Tobin out with his Dad's recent passing, Mike Potts held the pre-draft press conference earlier today. He handled himself really well, I thought.

Interesting to me that he mentioned on the analytics side that Elizabeth Blackburn has also created some reports that they use in scouting/draft prep. I know there's that Sam Francis guy and some others on the staff who do that analytics work full-time, but the fact that she's doing that, in addition to her other work - really impressive. I know she's really bright, and in addition to working on fan engagement, she's very hands-on regarding a lot of team things. But I didn't know she was involved at that level re:  the on-field football operations piece too. But her Mom has been, between contracts and being on an NFL committee or two, so I shouldn't have been surprised.

    Anyway, it's posted on Bengals.com.

She should give up the "fan engagement" crap :liberalmedia:

  5. CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed two quarterbacks on Tuesday: Jake Browning and Logan Woodside.

Browning, a second-year player from the University of Washington, signed a two-year exclusive rights contract through the 2025 season.

After Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow got hurt in the 2023-24 season, Browning stepped up and played in nine games, seven of which he started.

According to his stats, he led the Bengals to a 4-3 record as a starter, completed 171 of 243 passes for 1,936 yard and scored 12 touchdowns.

Woodside, who is a fifth-year player from the University of Toledo, has played in 13 career games for the Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Falcons. He has completed four of seven passes for 34 yards.

The Bengals are know for surprises in the draft.  No, I do NOT expect to see this guy in round one.

Last I heard of him was justrightnow.

But if he's there in round 3... worth a thought.

Bengals should keep close eye on Mel Kiper's favorite 2024 NFL draft OT prospect

Most fans know the big names to watch for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2024 NFL draft.

But this late in the process, experts are more than happy to reveal some of their favorites who might currently fly under the proverbial radar.

Take ESPN’s Mel Kiper, who just listed his favorite prospects at every position in the draft — and his name at offensive tackle is a surprise.

It’s one the Bengals front office — and fans — should probably keep in mind, too: Washington offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten.   (who?)

Kiper says Rosengarten has gone overshadowed because of teammate Troy Fautanu (who Kiper lists as his favorite guard), but that he could slip into the first round:

Sez Mel... "Rosengarten might have been a top-10 pick in next year’s draft if he had stayed in school for another season. That’s how highly I think of him. The 6-foot-5 308-pounder started at right tackle for the Huskies over the past two seasons, and he did not allow a single sack on 1,158 pass-blocking plays in that time frame. He locked down the blind side for left-handed quarterback Michael Penix Jr."

This all puts Rosengarten is a really sweet spot for the Bengals. Maybe they agree with Kiper and strike a trade down from No. 18 to secure him later in the opening round while also acquiring more high-value draft picks.

But the other side of that might be a trade up from No. 49 in the second round on Day 2. If Rosengarten slips to the second round, the Bengals have 10 picks and only so many roster spots, anyway. If they value him as long-term option behind Trent Brown, that’s worth a move up on Day 2.

If nothing else, Rosengarten is clearly someone who should be on the mind of Bengals fans as things progress this week.

I don't mind if we use pick 18 on a top talent at WR, CB, or TE. There aren't any safeties, running backs, linebackers worthy of round 1 this year and only 1 TE. It's a weak group of edge rushers which has pushed the DTs up the board a bit. This is a good draft for QBs and O-linemen and receivers. It's also fairly thin at CB.

Besides Bowers who won't be there, top priorities have to be O line and D line.

    “Fatal error”???  💀 That’s a bit harsh.

I prefer the Bengals trade back a few slots in round 1, still get a really good player and get an extra 3rd round pick; then use other draft capital to either move up in rounds 2 , 3, or 4 to get the guys they want, and/or to get even more picks in the sweet spot.

However, what is likely to happen:

SOMEONE will unexpectedly still be available at 18 that they just can’t get themselves to pass on.  “The player we have ranked 13th is still available…!!!”

We then spend the next few rounds waiting and hoping that certain players fall to us…being disappointed a time or two, and lucking out a time or two.

    …at least it won’t be fatal. 😎

It will be what it will be…and after each pick, this board will be live with discussions (and sometimes disgust) about the players that we should have taken instead.

I’m looking forward to seeing what most of you have to say…😎

    Oh, I totally agree.

Someone will slide I simply do not think it will be Murphy.

If he does, The Bengals should be on him like Stink on Stealers.

As we know... five of the top 17 will be quarterbacks some of whom artificially inflated

because next year is a poor quarterback draft (per an article I read and cannot find) barring

a few early declarations (Arch's grandson and namesake?).

    1. Byron Murphy

    2. Keon Coleman WR Florida State

    3.  Blake Fisher, the other Notre Dame OT

the fatal error here for her like everyone else picking Byron Murphy in the first round (I, too, would love it) is he won't

    be there.

I would love to get Powers-Johnson if for no other reason than to screw over the Stealers

So....  If Patrick Paul tested in the top 25 over the last 20 years or whatever and by all accounts had a good collegiate career, what exactly makes him a 2nd round pick other than the massive amount of group think done by the draftnik community.  I seriously hate the shit that most of these guys peddle to fans as actual analysis but I guess the fans gobble it up.

He's a bit older than the other OT prospects

Back in the preseason last year, the NFLN had a segment on who would be breakout players for 2023. Schrager was touting CTB even then. Cam would make a high quality CB2 if he stays healthy and available. But he's at best an average CB1 when healthy. Someone like Quinyon Mitchell has a much higher ceiling than Cam.

    and won't be there
