    Just posted elsewhere that I think there was more to this than meets the eye.

    They certainly hustled him out of The Rye Bread town quick and were willing to do so

    for nothing until Houston took the bait.

    Perhaps just the threat that the next time he started waiving a gun around he would put

    a round between someone's running lights.  Better he do it in Houston than Anderson Township.

    Yes, I did not like him.  Yes, others I respect did... Jamie, Pattern etc and I am very

    OK and respect their opinions.

    But I'm thinking there was something else at play behind the curtain with The Great Wizard Pumpkin

    we were not seeing.  Maybe/probably nothing overt but The Bengals Powers That Be secretly saw or

    feared something about this guy... a loose cannon with a Glock or Tec.

    Report: Bengals release veteran RB Joe Mixon after signing replacement

     

    CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Cincinnati Bengals released veteran running back Joe Mixon on Monday, according to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter.

    Mixon was released after the Bengals signed former Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss. Ross signed a 2-year, $8 million deal including a $4.525 million payout in year one, according to Schefter.

    Sports Illustrated said Mixon would have received a $3 million roster bonus on March 18 if he was still on the team, putting his 2024 cap hit to $8.85 million, about 3 percent of the total roster.

    Cincinnati drafted Mixon in the second round of the 2018 draft. He rushed for 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns at Oklahoma.

    Mixon was a mainstay of the Bengals backfield, rushing for over 1,000 yards four times. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2021, rushing for 1,205 yards and 13 touchdowns.

    He rushed for 6,412 yards in 97 games with the Bengals and is third on Cincinnati’s all-time rushing list behind James Brooks and Corey Dillon. He would have likely passed James Brooks early in the 2024 season if he wasn’t released.

    Moss rushed for 2,076 yards for Buffalo and Indianapolis since 2020. The Bills selected him with the third-round pick in 2020 after he played four years at Utah.

    He’s coming off his best pro season in 2023. He rushed for 794 yards and five touchdowns for the Colts in 14 games.

    I agree with everything you have said about CE-H.

    Good candidate for redeeming and all it would take would

    be for Joe to walk into Pumpkin's office, maybe with Ja'Marr, and

    say "Let's glide with Clyde".

    You know he would love to be here.

    I would be more concerned about Mixon getting arrested than Clyde getting injured.

    This is exactly why they should be focusing on fixing the O-line before they go get a new RB. 

    Obviously true about the O line but lsing Mixon is addition by subtraction.

    Forget last year's stats. They should come with an * because the last game was a joke.

    Seemed like they didn't even ask him to block because he was so piss poor.

    If the surveillance footage from the confrontation with a 50 year old lady on Walnut Street

    from last year was clearer we would not be having this discussion.

    He's a liability.
