I disagree with his (and The Enquirer) always negative BS slant against the Bengals. He breaks down every positional group of the offense to give them a piss poor grade and then blankets the defense together so he can give them a half ass B- as a negative? Why not highlight some of the great things the defense has done so far in the first half? Mentions Bates and Bell, but no mention of how awesome Dax, CTB and DJ Turner have been or how the defense and the pass rush has come on as of late. And on the RB front Mixon is as good as any of the "plenty of good running backs were available - but the Bengals went cheap" that were free agents that he mentioned. Off the top of my head I think every free agent RB that was signed this past offseason is either in a committee or a backup with the exception of Montgomery who has really only been a product of Detroit's VERY good OL. Is he grouping the likes of Cook, Elliott, Hunt et al as good because they had "names" at one point in the NFL? I hope not, because they're not good anymore. His reasoning for the Coaching grade is laughable at best as well. Cherry picking a headline that Burrow should have sat "the first game or two". They started 0-2 and that wasn't improving without Burrow (could even argue they "should" have beaten the Ravens as they had their chances). There's an example like this nearly every draft class. He's another in a long list of USC prima donna QBs that'll be a big whiff. Dad already in his ear telling him to declare only for the "right situation". Thank God we won the Joe B lottery. My eyes so far have told me Penix is the most accurate thrower of this group. I'd roll the dice on him. Admittedly haven't watched Drake Maye yet though.

Couldn't agree more. Battle was my favorite pick post-draft. He will be the started in short time and it's because of what he can do on the field and less of what Nick Scott can't do. This is the deepest secondary they have had in years. I love me some Chido too but the writing is on the wall that this is likely his swan song here.

Pass, no trading required. CTB and DJ Turner are are going to be stars, just not by NFL media standards since they play for the Bengals defense that has a bunch of "no namers". Also throw Dax into the star category as well. Dude hasn't even reached his ceiling yet and it's already obvious on the field. This young secondary is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Nonexistent lol. Their biggest problem on defense IMO. All of that speed and athleticism in the secondary has helped. Hopefully Ossai getting back to full strength is a shot in the arm.

They could take two QBs to enhance the probability they hit on one of them.
