If I'm not mistaken both parents are FSU alum. Don't sleep on North Carolina either. They are making a strong push for him.

Meanwhile, enjoy some Julius Randle highlights. We know we got him....lol.

Yea they went to FSU. From the sources I have, I have been told it's FSU, UK and UNC in that order as of a couple weeks ago so things could have changed over the last few days. Wiggins had a great recurring visit at FSU and that really helped. It would probably be a done deal to FSU if Cal was not involved.

Randle should be fun to watch next year.
  2. If UK adds anymore for this year then it will probably be Hawkins. I know Cal watched him play a couple games in a row a couple weeks ago. If Wiggins is really coming, then that must mean at least two guys are leaving. If he does come, there might not be a need to play next season.

I have been told that Wiggins wants to come to UK but his parents are pushing him towards FSU.

  3. I'd imagine Poythrees is probably gone then.  Randle wants nothing to do with playing the 5 at the collegiate level.

    Good pick-up though.

I dont think this has anything to do with Porthress. He has said he is coming back but of course that could change. Poythress can play the 3 spot and Randle the 4.

If everyone comes back this is what the team would look like.

PG- Andrew Harrison, Ryan Harrow, Jared Polson

    SG- Archie Goodwin, Aaron Harrison

SF- Alex Poythress, James Young, Jon Hood

PF- Julius Randle, Marcus Lee, Kyle Wiltjer, Derrick Willis

C- Willie Cauley Stein, Dakari Johnson

That is 14 guys on scholarship so someone would have to leave or give one up. I would expect either Harrow or Wilitjer to leave and go some where else.

It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes.   I just can't see the NBA being all over these guys but I can see some of them worrying about playing time and transferring out.

Noel will more than likely leave but the others have all said they will be back but things could change over the next couple weeks. Stein has already posted on twitter that he is ready for big blue madness. The only one I see leaving is Harrow. Cal said he needs to have a one on one talk with him and I am guessing he will probably tell him it might be best if he left.
  5. UK could really be scary good next year. They just got the top two guards and Willis is already coming. They are one of the favorites to add Parker and Randle. If Wiggins reclassifies, he will end up at UK next year. Wiggins will probably end up being the best player Cal has ever recruited.

Next years class could go down as the greatest recruiting class ever.

Yeah. I don't see it happening and I would give it a 0% chance of him going to another college team. It doesn't get better than a blue blood school like UK. I do remember seeing him say that he wants to get back into the NBA though and he has done a good job getting his players there and will have a good chance of building a good all UK/Memphis team when he gets there.

As a Duke fan, I cannot wait until he bolts. He has a monopoly on the recruiting market right now and him winning one just strengthens that.

I can see Cal going to the NBA but I dont think it will be for several more years. He already has a lock on the recruiting market like you said and once they are finished with everything at UK, he will be able to get any player he wants by just bringing them on campus. UK already has the best practices facilities in the country. Once the new Wildcat Lodge is finished, no team in the country will even come close to competing with a place for the players to stay. Also once Rupp is renovated, I am not sure they will be an arena any nicer. The blueprints for the new locker rooms are insane.

It is scary to think how good UK will be over the next 5 to 10 years if Cal sticks around.

Not that I think it happens, but would you guys be more upset if Cal bolted for the NBA (Knicks) or happy for what he has done for UK in the short time he was there?

There's been some speculation, not that I think it has much legs.

I would only be upset if he left UK for another college job but he is not going any where. Every year there are rumors that he is going to the NBA. Other schools start these rumors to try to take recruits away from UK and it never works. Cal has the best job in college and when all is said done, he will be making more at UK then he would at most NBA jobs.

I don't think they're getting Shabazz. All signs point to UCLA. No idea on Bennett. I know he wants to go and play with Shabazz but I don't think that's going to happen. Harrow just wasn't very good at NCSU.

I just don't see them being a power house next year. Noel will be good. I just don't see them being like they were this year.

I have a felling Shabazz and Bennett will end up at UK with Noel going to Syracuse. If they can add Oriakhi they should still be good.

Harrow should be much better next year. He played on a badly coached team. A full year under Cal and he should be much better.

The SEC is going to be weak next year. Vandy and Missouri are losing a lot of their talent. Teams outside the SEC are going to lose a bunch of talent. UNC will lose Barnes, Zeller and probably Hensen. Duke is losing Rivers and Miles Plumlee. Ohio State will lose Sullnger and Bufford. Kansas will lose Taylor and Robinson. Syracuse will lose Joesph, Waiters, and probably Melo. Overall college basketball might take a step back next year talent wise. UK won't be as good as this year but they will still be a top team next year.

You really think UK is going to be FF good next year? Doesn't seem like they're getting their typical badass recruiting class they usually get and will probably be losing probably at least 4 guys.

This game should be good though. Both games should be, but you know Pitino is going to have his boys ready to try and beat UK. I think it's going to come down to the last few minutes. It won't be a Baylor blowout.[/quote]
UK has a potential to be stacked next year. They have an excellent chance at landing the top two recruits in Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad and Anthony Bennett who is in the top 10. They already have 3 in the top 40 coming in. Ryan Harrow will be eligable next year and they are trying to bring in Alex Oriakhi from UConn for next year. Wiltjer should be much better next year and Hood will be back to add good depth on the bench.

A starting lineup of Harrow, Goodwin, Muhammad, Bennett, and Noel and a bench with Hood, Poythress, Wiltjer and, Cauley would be the most talented team in the country.
