35 passing yards, 63 total yards of offense, 4 first downs, and one of those was by penalty. They showed some signs of life on that last drive, but the lack of offense will be their undoing again today. I just don't see them fixing it with 15 minutes in the locker room. I hope I'm wrong.
And it would appear that, if they do manage to make it close, there are some men out on the field in striped shirts that will ensure that Baltimore gets the help they need to pull it out.

Stains at Stealers next week means something good should come from it. Either the Stains fall back to 1-1 or the Stealers start 0-2. I don't ever root for Pittsburgh unless is it certain to help the Bengals, so I guess I'll be hoping Cleveland wins, despite how I feel about them right now.

I would rather them lose like this than on a last-second FG. Easier to get over one like this.

I'm not going to watch it because I just ate, but it's funny that they got their feelings hurt from getting what they've been dishing out for decades going back to Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Keith Gary, and the like. I shared a Twitter post in the rivalry forum a few minutes ago, before I'd even seen this post, where Stealer fans were celebrating the dirty play from their dirty players, namely Whines and the guy that got the shit knocked out of him at PBS. I regret that Hines Ward did not suffer the career-ending injury that he routinely hoped to inflict on others. Hopefully he will never make the Hall of Fame.

Human civilization will never top the halftime show at Super Bowl VII in 1973. Jay Leno can have his classic cars. I just want a warehouse with all 26 of these, plus Seattle and Tampa Bay for good measure. I'd pick one and drive it to work every day.

A few days ago, the owners approved a one-year trial for late-season Thursday Night flexes. Weeks 13-17 only. Any flexed game will require 4 weeks notice.
Our home games during this period are Indy and Minnesota.
The proposal passed 24-8 with the Giants, Jets, Packers, Bears, Raiders, Lions, Bengals and Stealers all voting against it.
I like having the three broadcast time slots on Sunday, and MNF would be fine if they could somehow get Frank Gifford, Howard Cosell, and Don Meredith back into the booth, or even Al Michaels, and maybe move it back to ABC. In its current state, though, it's of interest only if there is a good matchup. But Thursday Night games could go away and I wouldn't miss them. I'm sure many would disagree, but I think that's where the league crosses the oversaturation point. And Amazon is going to have to fix their audio. There was a Bengals home game last year that sounded on TV like it was being played in an empty studio, while people who were at the game said it was LOUD. I hated that the national audience didn't get an accurate portrayal of what a Paycor crowd is like.

i skimmed the article, judging by that line it doesnt dive into it, so i assume its not mentioned at all, but obviously the nfl wants as much hype per game as possible, with a few "matchup of the year" type MNF/SNF games, they want to spread out the love, making division games a MNF /SNF game is almost a waste as there is already hype for that game for at least 2 fanbases, and you get interest from others too, so if youre looking at a KC schedule, you have hype for 6 games due to being division, hype from previous playoff rematches (bengals, bills, etc) then you want to give them primetime games, pick from others, then the opener for the champs, the lions makes sense, cause no one cares about KC vs the lions on a sunday at 4pm, but the season opener, all eyes are on a game that would never be cared about otherwise.
That does make sense. I guess the cynic in me suspects that most of those eyes will be somewhere else by the end of the third quarter, as KC will have the game in hand by then. I hope I'm wrong.

Your suspicions are reasonable.

1/3 is a fair assessment.

Here's an interesting article (that's actually an advertisement for AWS) on how the NFL makes the schedule now.
“For instance, this year, Kansas City won the Super Bowl. So, what are the options for the kickoff game? You could look at division games, some interesting NFC North matchups, or you could look at some pretty epic playoff rematches with Cincinnati or Buffalo. And you could certainly consider a Super Bowl rematch with Philly. There’s so many different options.”
And among those many options, they paired them with the Lions, a team that has won more than nine games only twice since 1995. Yes, they had their "epic" 8-2 finish to the season, but only two of the teams they beat in that stretch had a winning record at the time they played them.

Still think they should get rid of the Nemo pants though and go with black/orange striped panel on white pants.
I know the uniforms have been discussed to death, but since you brought it up...
As much as I have tried to like them, the Nemo pants are never going to work for me. They might have been more tolerable if they'd left the black outline off the orange stripes, I don't know. I think I read that Elizabeth Blackburn insisted that the pants stripes not be on a "panel" or "background", but rather "floating", to maintain consistency with how the jerseys are. I get that but the black outline destroys the consistency, too. The white pants with black stripes don't work with the black jersey, either. The pants really need both black and orange on them to look right with the black jersey.

I am always against Pittsburgh unless their winning is certain to help the Bengals. I know folks in Ohio get tired of Browns fans, but outside of Ohio, they're hard to find. Stealers fans are everywhere and they are arrogant and obnoxious.
