Rumors are saying Russell Wilson will take the vet minimum with his next teams since Denver owes him $39M. I sounds like the Stealers are interested. I really hope not.
Of course he'll take the league minimum. If a team paid him more, it wouldn't affect him. It'd just mean less money that the Broncos had to pay. I don't think he gets to keep both salaries

Wilson is guaranteed 39 million from the Broncos this year (subject to offset). They'll cut him before the date early in the league year where they would have to guarantee him another 35 mil for 2025.
The oddsmakers have Pittsburgh as the favorite to sign him. Wilson's floor is certainly higher than Pickett's.
George Paton should have been fired as the Denver GM after trading for Wilson, extending him on a bloated contract (which didn't even start until 2024), and hiring Paul Hackett. Sean Payton is a good coach but he's mishandled the QB he inherited. Now Denver has cap problems, are short of players on rookie deals, and need a new QB. Not good.
It's not that easy for Denver. They can't swallow his cap hit of $85mill if they cut him in March. It looks like Pitt was never interested in him. They're in quite a pickle

Wilson actually played pretty well last year. He had a 26-8 TD/Int ratio.
You gotta look deeper than the stats. His head coach is paid to do exactly that and he wants Wilson gone. He saw the film where Wilson couldn't see the field and wide open receivers weren't seeing the ball. It'll be interesting to see if any team is interested in Russell Wilson and if so, who eats what in salary

Who really wants Wilson?
He's washed and the league knows it.
Denver fucked up upon his signing.
What Denver does about their horrible decision to acquire RW is a completely different one from what the Stealers should do under center. Yeah the Broncos have really screwed themselves a good one here

I think there's a lot of click bait BS going on about the Stealers situation. They likely never were interested in Wilson et al. This sounds accurate to me:

Travis Kelce laid out 1.1 mil for the luxury suite for Taylors family along with his own..
She's turning out to be one expensive girlfriend. OK, he makes about $14mill/yr but that's still a lot of money to a guy, even him

This is the same idea when talking about keeping Tee. The Ravens just paid Roquan Smith silly money, they aren't going to put all their money into one position group.
I get that but it's just one year and it doesn't even have to be negotiated. And we will end up paying Tee far more than that if we franchise him

I read Baltimore is expecting some heavy losses in free agency. The list includes their starting RB, both starting OG, multiple WR, and a bunch on defense, including Queen, Clowney, and Geno Stone. They are expected to franchise Madubuike if they can’t get a deal done but otherwise don’t have much cap space.
I'm amazed that Baltimore didn't pick up Queen's $12mill option for 2024. He's a former 1st rd pick. Real easy to keep him around for another year

Doubt Reader is ready for the start of season
They aren't paying him a full season to play 8 games or so.
That could make him affordable for us

Damn he's aging badly.
Don't know his age but literally looks sickly.
Vegas night life overrode the Raiders...
Aging? I just think he's an ugly MFer

No Michael Penix in the first rd. Did he really hurt himself that much in the CFP? I would think the Seahawks would think long and hard about drafting Penix in the first

It would most likely just go to Walters.I agree because it's the Bengals. But I don't think that'd be the best move. Having said that, my first choice at this stage is Pitcher

There are two thoughts here. Staying in house allows the team to not have to completely rewrite the playbook which can slow down a team's progress. The 2nd is what you said, new fresh ideas can prevent stagnation.
The question is the offense stagnant? I'm not sure I believe it is, so I think Pitcher makes the most sense.
But yes, it's not the end of the world if he leaves.
I think the offense can use a refresher. Have you noticed how our offense looks vs our rivals in the division? It seems like they know exactly what we're doing. No separation for the receivers

Except Pitt doesn't have the personnel to run Kingsbury's offense. Pitt has a power run game and not so mobile QBs

It wouldn't be the end of the world for Pitcher to leave and the Bengals bring in someone else with some fresh ideas and perspective on the offense.

No way. Picking a good WR early in the draft is almost a can’t miss proposition. By far the easiest position to successfully draft early. I love Tee but he isn’t worth a 7 especially since he WON’T be on a rookie contract.
Fine, you're looking at it from Tennessee's perspective. In regards to missing on an early WR pick, I present a name to think about: John Ross
As to what a WR is worth at Tee's age in a trade: Tyreek Hill
Granted Tee is not T. Hill but if Hill is worth a 1st, 2nd, 4th, 4th and 6th rd picks, Tee is easily worth a first

I agree. I make the Titans cough up that #7 first rd pick

I might very seriously consider that on draft day if either of the top 2 Tackles are there at 7. We could secure one and then use the 18th pick to get Tee's replacement.
I can't imagine the Titans would give us their top ten pick for Tee's "franchise" year...but they might give us their top ten 2nd rd pick. Would you do that?

That isn’t how the tax code works. You don’t get to write off a donation dollar for dollar.
That is absolutely the case. And if he doesn't get the charitable donation write off, he can write it off as a business expense, which it is. However Tepper is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 billion so you don't damage him with fines

They aren't trading to the Ravens and their 2nd rd pick is a low second rounder. That's not a good offer
