Hey thanks for checking in man.  Your name was one of the ones that popped up in my head with all this...hadn't heard from you in a while and I know you've had some serious health issues yourself.  Stay safe/healthy.

Thanks! I did/do have some health issues I face, but I face them with a grin on my face. Outside of pain, I cannot let life get me down as I fear my time is short.

Plus I am dancing with the gummy bears 100% of the time. It helps. A LOT, lol.

  2. I have been absent from the board for awhile now, mostly drive-by posts in some Bengals FB groups is all the Bengals talk I've been engaged in lately. I also remember Onyx well, and it was through my FB friendship with Jamie that I even knew that Jason Holland was the same person as Onyx here, and it took Jamie posting a memoriam to him yesterday on FB that I was even able to connect the dots. It makes me wish I had known all along, and I could have engaged him more. He and I locked horns a couple times, but nothing too serious. I wish him well in the next world.

I'll be around more. This virus is very distracting to routines and lives. And deadly.

  3. 31-0 is a pretty incredible feat, regardless of the way things turn out in the tournament. Obviously anything less than a championship at this point would be considered a failure, but it's so damn hard to win it all, no matter your regular season record. Like Old says, the pressure just mounts and mounts. The best thing Cal can do is keep his team as loose as possible and play down the importance of the games and treat them like any other.

  4. No bigger UK fan than me, but this team did not deserve a bid. Let a team with a losing record (Vandy) kick the shit out of 'em. This team was not capable (for whatever reason) of bringing the effort every game. You reap what you sow.

I totally agree. interesting how the Cats went from champs to the NIT in only one year. But that's the business model not only for Calipari but for many big time schools in NCAA basketball. I really wish there was a way to keep players from bouncing after only one year (and coaches too). It's hard to follow the game anymore. It's worse than free agency in pro sports. You can't get to know a roster anymore. I can't keep up with who the players even are at this stage. It sucks.

The talent is unquestioned. The coming together of the talent is the fun part. Hopefully by mid Feb the familar big blue buzzsaw will be in full force.

They look fast and athletic and at the same time appear to be playing not at full speed or with confidence the whole time.

I'm not worried. Calipari is going to have young teams all the time and they aren't going to play very well in mid-November compared to how they will play come February. They just need some time to jell.

I'd like UK to play them again in the tournament. We need to exact revenge on UCONN for last year too. And hooking up and beating Duke would be sweet as well. UK didn't get an easy draw beyond the first round (I hope we play the Hilltoppers).

Damn, did not know UK has never beat OSU in tournament play.

What do 1945, 1961, 1962, 1968, and 1987 have in common ? All UK losses to OSU in tournament play.

    Sweet, then they are due!

2 hours, 20 minutes and counting...I'm soooo excited!
