A Bob Huggins team beat them convincingly. Elsewhere, a Bob Huggins-recruited team led by one of his disciples nearly made the final four as well. That's just the Power of Huggs. Anyway, few would argue that UK had the most raw talent and potential in their team. There's a reason this is nothing more than an academic point, though. They were not the best team, they lose, they get nothing, good day sir.
On the scoreboard, yes, WVU beat UK, and they were coached by Bob Huggins. My point, which is valid, is that UK beat themselves by the worst shooting effort by an Elite Eight team I have ever witnessed, and it actually had very little to do with Huggins, the defense, whatever. UK had open looks along the perimeter all day...they just wouldn't fall. Same goes for the charity stripe. I'm not bitter about it. Its just exactly how I see it. There's always next year. And unlike Bob or WVU, UK has actually won it all in recent memory.
 2.
Bob Huggins ........... love that guy!
He's a great coach, but he didn't beat UK. UK beat UK.
 3. Time to resurrect this thread! GO BIG BLUE! I can't wait. In fact, I'll probably have to lie down and take a nap for a little while. 10:00pm tipoff is starting a game pretty late for me if I want to watch it all...
 4. Vol- You may be right. UK is pretty talented (and quite deep, especially big men, now that Orton has been playing so well) but their achilles heel is definitely inconsistent shooting, particularly around the perimeter.
 5.
My preseason final 4 (which I think is on here somewhere) was Kansas, WVU, Nova, and UK. I'm still feeling pretty good about mine. and UT wouldn't do shit with or without those three rocket scientists they lost, because they play sloppy defense, rely too much on the three point shot, and can't hit free throws.
You're crazy about the UT shit. And I'm a UK fan! UT is pretty goddamn good if you ask me.
 6. I wonder if they might squeak in anyway...
 7. Miss State playing like their Big Dance dreams depend on it! That's right, because they do!!
 8.
And the Volunteer hacks fell hard today. What happened to the UK buzz in here?
I know! We're like 132-2 and its like nobody cares! And we just slapped the taste out of Bruce Pearl's mouth and we got a collective yawn going on! Wake up Blue Nation@go-bengals.com!!!
 9.
Vengeance was sweet, but having lil' Jen at the game? WTF???!!!
He was watching Cocks, of course. Its only natural for him to do so.
 10. It's time for REVENGE!!!!!!!
 11.
Long live Kige!
Noooooooooooo!!!!! I don't really hate the guy or anything. He's a fan of the team, so I can't. He's just such a goober.
 12.
The way they played they deserved to lose, I think this will help them focus though and realize they are not elite and must bring it every game
I find this funny. If 25-1 isn't elite in NCAA basketball...then what is? And fuck Kige Ramsey (despite his good Kentucky intentions/fandom), he makes EVERYONE that roots for UK b-ball look like a hick. Fuck him. Just stop. Please!!!!!!
 13.
Perhaps, but that was a HUGE win for the program...
Eh, Kansas brought a knife to a gunfight.
 14.
Have you seen John Wall play? He is really, really, really good.
He ain't no Wayne Turner...
 15.
haha...which ones?
"Blue Jesus Leads Best Kentucky Team Ever!".
 16.
Well, I suppose the weakness of this whole internet thing is that statements are saved in eternity. It goes without saying, though, just how utterly wrong your predictions already are. Kentucky is shooting free throws at a rate of 69.5%, higher than Kansas, UNC, Texas (62.5%...LOL), Purdue (61% haha), and almost every other "good" team in the country. Opponent's PPG rankings are hard to find, but they are in the Top 10 Nationally in Blocks and Defensive Rebounds per game, and are holding opponents to a 38% Field Goal percentage. In addition, I would say that John Wall's recent game with 16 Assists should dispel the whole frailty of team nonsense, shouldn't it? UT, even before losing 4 players for some unknown amount of time (which amounts to ~30 ppg and ~13 rpg), has already suffered a 22 point loss to an awfulUSC team. So much for that, I guess. So, having already established how hard UT is going to suck for the next few months, and knowing the Florida and South Carolina are awful, who in the SEC could beat UK even 4 times out of 10? There is a very good chance that they will beat an ailing UofHell team tomorrow in Rupp, and after that they have a great shot at going undefeated, don't they? This is all assuming, too, that they don't continue to gel as a team and get better, which is almost certainly going to happen as time goes on. Right now, Vegas has them as +300 to win the National Championship. The only team with better odds at the moment is Kansas (+250). This seems like quite a bit of evidence that they have some glimmer of hope to win their 8th National Championship this year, doesn't it? Or at least enough to maybe avoid being "very confidant" that they won't win, right?
I think you're anointing this team with accolades it hasn't quite earned yet.
 17. Squeaking out a last gasp shot to beat Miami isn't exactly awe-inspiring.
 18. I don't give a fuck anymore. I just want to see UK finally succumb to all the dirty bullshit other programs like to proclaim they avoid, and win some fucking games, along with going deep into the tourney.
 19. Ready For Paid Moderating!!

 20.
Careful, man! A friend of mine once typed M's name 3 times; he appeared like Betelgeuse, swatted the shit outta him and then dunked on his wife. After he vanished they discovered his daughter was pregnant. Wasn't pretty.
That was really, really funny!! But I thought I had to say his name three times in a dark bathroom while staring into the mirror...or something...
 21.
No......not a very good UC team.......we had Nick Williams starting at SG for God's sake. We had 3 above average players in James White, Jason Maxiell and Eric Hicks. You guys had a pretty good team actually........Kalena Azubuike, Ramel Bradley, Randolph Morris, Chuck Hayes, Patrick Sparks, Rajon Rondo, Joe Crawford, Shegari Elleyne and Orbzut (two 7 footers). No comparison........UK had the better team by a large, large margin and it was a good game. UC played their hearts out and still lost due to the talent factor.
I must be getting senile in my old age. Crawford, Kelenna, Morris, Sparks and Hayes were pretty good players then, but even Rondo was young and inconsistent, as well as Ramel. Alleyene and Orbzut are barely worth mentioning. PLus you guys had Maxiell! Maxiell! Anyway, you're right. I thought UC had some different players.
 22.
I with the ADs would man up and give us the UC/UK games that we all want, though..
UC fans don't want that kind of yearly humiliation. They saw what happened in the tournament a few years ago, and that was a very good UC team, and only a so-so UK team.
 23.
Haha......maybe my black and red bias is clouding my judgement of Stephenson just as your big blue bias does not allow you to see the slime that Calipari oozes from his pores. And you are the most racist dude I've ever met and gotten a car wash from
I am that Irish Catholic (with an Italian surname) that I speak of. Well, raised Catholic anyway. Football is my church on Sundays now.
 24.
I'm sure UK has all choirboys on their roster as do a majority of NCAA college hoops teams, thus your need to interject your opinions in a UC thread.
Silly, of course we do. We also have a coach that is as infallible as the Pope. Why do you think UK has a thing for upright, suit-wearing Italians? Because they are basketball Gods that go to Church on Sundays. This makes them beyond reproach. Didn't you get the memo? Cronin...that's a Mick name, right? Ooops, that's already his first name, I meant Irish...Irish Catholics are wannabe drunks. You cannot trust them. You need a Dago wop to coach your team to the promised land. Their reputations are impugnable.
