Speed is great, but bad angles on tackles and poor reads will doom any safety no matter the speed. I expect Hill to get another year to improve before they start looking to replace him.

He didn’t block! He was pretty much exclusively split out. I wouldn’t send someone to Tyler Eifert to learn blocking technique. It’s not necessary to have success at a position to teach it as you correctly point out with Jordan Palmer. Just the same, it’s tough to think you would want a guy (Eifert) to teach something he never really did.

Five picks between 'em. Wilson is a good zone coverage LB. Maybe not as great man to man. Not many LBs can cover TEs. Both of them are good at creating turnovers.

When the play of your DL, in particular the DTs drops off, your LBs suffer. Instead of being free to make plays they have to deal with guards and centers in their face. Makes a big difference.

As to Lou, I bet he is back. Most owners aren't going to want to talk to a guy with a defense rated as low as the Bengals' was this season. Also, I don't think many DCs could have made chicken salad out of the chicken shit Lou had to deal with. The safety downgrade was dramatic. Both young guys are potentially good safeties, but they weren't close to the combo of Bates and Bell. It was catastrophic. I liked Battle a lot. I have faith he is going to be a good one. Hill is another story. I found him disappointing. He made a play or two early in the season, but I don't remember him doing much of anything the rest of the year except running people down from behind. Yep, he's fast. Not sure Anderson can ever stay healthy, but I would like to see what he can do. The DL is overly dependent upon DJ Reader. BJ Hill is a quality DT, but after that...woof! When Reader went down an already poor running defense got even worse. Finally, as much as I like the Bengals young CBs, they are still young CBs. Awuzie looked like a guy coming off ACL surgery. Will he be back to form next year? Hope so. Tough to blame Lou for all this. A lot of his defense was gutted. Hopefully they will have an influx of talent plus some maturation in the secondary and return to being a very strong unit next season.

Let 'em. I give the him and the QB coach credit for having Browning ready, but play design and play calling? Pffft! Maybe that's all Taylor. Who knows how much Callahan actually does when it comes to all of that? I would still like to see Taylor turn over OC duties totally to someone else.

For the right team? Absolutely. Could you imagine Tee Higgins on the Browns? Oh, wait....they don't have any first round picks. 🤣

I would tag Higgins for one more year. I'm not sure he's going to be worth the money. Looks like he is going down the "always injured" route. Much like AJ Green, but a few years early. Wouldn't want to lock him up long term at this point. I am really interested in seeing what Iosivas has to offer. From what I saw he did pretty much what they asked of him. Caught the ball, blocked, etc. He's a crazy athlete. Maybe time to give him an increased role.

Uggggh...tough decisions. They definitely need to draft a tackle. Hopefully a good one is available in the first two rounds. Best strategy would be to trade up to take the guy another team wants. Rather rely on some other teams scouts than the Bengals for OL.

Honestly, this is the one thing the team could have controlled and made a big difference. Browning was an unknown to us as fans, but the coaching staff should have known he was capable. Burrow had no business playing the first 3 or 4 weeks. Live and learn, I suppose.
