  1. i think once again he showed he will not change his idea for an offense scheme to fit the players available..

so hopefully he learned that dont work ,

hopefully he learned sitting the  starting offense for the whole preseason, still doesnt work ...

    and

hopefully he learned that building a defense to defend the pass ,  doesnt work if you never have the fucking lead because your dipshit offensive ideas dont work against the teams in the division you are playing..

Bengals are fundamentally conservative in their spending. They don't want to go all-in. They call that "mortgaging the future".

So every offseason they are in good cap shape but don't maximize the spending. IMO this past season was the time to go all-in.

yes but with burrow being out or hurt 3/4 of the season, and then Reader went down .. frankly the OL played way under what they was being paid.... so i am glad they didnt , however , this year though if they are going to is the year to. then need reevaluate the OL coach Pollack they just arent getting it done.  , i would franchise Tee (if he doesnt want to sign) hopefully get boyd to stay with a decent but cap manageable 3 yr deal.  let the 12 million dollar RT go.  , then focus on the defense.  we set up to cover the pass , but with our offense being so inept at times we got run over.

  3. i am with the , if the player is not 90-100% healthy then you sit them crowd.

it is time to learn what we can about this roster .. so lets see if this punter can handle the pressure. i would tell him if he under performs in anyway , he is  getting cut. not were bringing in competition next year.. he is gone .. if he can handle that then maybe he can grow forward.

the OL either steps up or we move on with them .

i wouldnt be afraid to pull any of them to make a point and let them sit for a series or 2.

  4. if the coaching staff would get off this shotgun formation only kick , then our offensive tackles play will improve simply by making the ends move in closer and pay attention to the  inside of the line rather then get to spread out bust 2 -3 step up and cut in all momentum  in a forward direction and causing the OTs to step back and out to engage them with all momentium going backwards

  5.  if worded different it wasnt really a dig,

he could of said they dont have a superstar on defense they rally and scheme around,

but they all play solid defense as a team, it would have got the same point across,

with him feeling the need to speak out in this tone,

i would expect Chase to play and

back up the need for him to speaking

or he's pretty much just a punk needing attention

Mixon had 5 yards in the whole first half.

Game total 43 yards on 11 carries, 3.9 average, longest 13 yards

Chase Brown carried 4 times for 16 yards, for 4.0 average.

So why was Mixon in there?

Because we're Bengals son, square peg in a round hole?

    His stellar blocking?

He'll have a good game or two but he simply is not that good.

Cheap and getting cheaper. perhaps, but not that good.

Yes, he will be back and I don't see him being any better.

    Time to move on.

And, no, he did not cost us the game.  Turnover Browning and

    the woeful D did.

you say Mixon had 5 yard the 1st half.. how many times did they run it? the steeler always do the exact same thing pressure front short zones ,. which covers hot read passed and keeps the defense up short to stop the run.  and we always do the same shit. run once or twice then try screens and outside runs, whihc rarely work ,  the offensive line and Mixon have not produced what they should for what they are getting paid, but the play calling and formation/personal really has not been that helpful either.

I like Zac for what he has done to build a culture here, and he should be commended for even keeping us in this when Joe went down.

But he really makes me scratch my head sometimes when it comes to game plans and playcalling.

yep.  his love of screens gets annoying,  his commitment trying to continually fit players into his scheme rather then tweaking his scheme to the strengths of the players he has is something else.

They got away from doing this this week, and it showed.

Joe and Zac have a lot of work to do to get Joe comfortable under center. It's the one thing they can do to get us to win more football games.

sadly the announcer even commented during the 1st drive on how we started playing under center more and it had been working well for us, so i guess our awesome offensive gameplan was to switch back to what wasnt working?

  9. for me its the constant shotgun formation ,  the Stealers have always ran an aggressive defense  and a shotgun offense is not the way to beat it. under the center, run game and play action to compliment it.  our tackles always get burnt because we set them up to get burnt, their outside rushers strength is to spread wide and make the tackles play angle out,   draws and screens dont work cause the backers sit in a zone and cover that..  sad offensive  gameplan .

  10. the stoolers def will play aggressive, we need to run alot and play action off it alot.  would be wise to use very little shotgun.

and throw the ball over the top a few time, even if its incomplete , the stooler play defense with pressure and set up to stop the hot reads and quick hitters,  once you show your throwing deep they back off. which opens the run game and even more playaction.
