I guess a thought is with the talent we have on this team…if you don’t think you can win a SB this year, what does making the playoffs do for you?  How does that make you better next year?  If you think we can win a SB this year, that’s a different story.

actually right now FAs come because of Joe Burrow is a winner, and they want to play on a team with playoff expectations.. now if they see that same team without Joe burrow still make the playoffs, and that team has Joe Burrow signed for many seasons .... it shows that signing here does not mean 1 injury and your playoff hopes are gone.  it will only offer more to players coming here when the contracts being offered are close .

  2. i understood when Burrow was calf limited.. however it needs to be recognized when in the shotgun the DL plays spread out , the  offensive tackles are even more on an island because the DEs start so far out, and they can design the pass rush to get to the spot the QB stands at in the shotgun... when under center they cant spread out, the QB is moving either back 3 -5-7 steps or to rolling to either side or if the DTs spread out and not covering the center they are grabbing an easy  3-4 yards on a sneak. . .. and add in  it gives the rb a running forward start .  the more variables you stack for the defense the more they have to cover.

Thankfully it wasn't more serious, but not putting him on the cart was negligent for sure.

Lawrence said Wednesday that he was pretty close to the tunnel entrance and felt like it would be quicker for him to walk with some help to the EverBank Stadium locker room and X-ray facility than to wait for the cart to maneuver its way through the extra equipment to get to him. So that's what he did -- although he did admit he might have had some regret.

  4. he was lost a few times. but the oL did very little to help him relax.  the time of possession and amount of plays are the killing stat.  the defense played 15 minutes more then the offense, you can not have that.    the run game didnt work because they keyed on short passes and run game, if you dont throw it over the top to back them up they play short and stop you.. which they did,

    And the refs.

yea.... its one thing to miss a hold on a TD, its another to call it then pick up the flag.. then when they do get some momentum. clock issues...  but the offense did enough to lose this game without that.   another thing with all the jake Browning fluff stories going this week , i thought man,  here's a good team player doing whatever he can to help others be good...... then i hear him in an interview pregame on webn, and it didnt come off to me that way.  and frankly i didnt like his demeanor after the int.. so  welcome back to reality Jake Browning. there is a reason your a back up.    but as they will say , "he put alot of good things on tape, we'll go back and look at it and see where we can improve...  yada yada yada, looks like a top 10 draft pick this year, lol so goodbye tee and hello wasted 1st round pick on a skill player that cant start for his 1st year.. and sorry we cant sign anyone decent as a FA because that will cost them a comp pick in 2025 ...

  6. he should be able to spell and give quality snaps.  will some be  learning material to coach him? sure... , but if a round 2 player can step in and produce while learning then then the average nfl fan should be allowed to consider the same for a 1st rounder..  looking back in history , is this going to be the same bs cheap ass bengals play like they did with Whitworth? draft 1st  "potential" then all the while they dont show production, still use it as a bargining chip at the veteran player? lose the vet and then watch the rookie still not produce?

Murphy's behind some very talented vets. Im sure he'd be starting on a shittier defense. He was a hedge against losing some of those in FA.

Whether he was the smart pick given team needs and the available draft pool is still an unanswered question.

yes but that leads back to the time period of  the bengals being proud they still have 80% of their draft picks on the roster, too bad we were out of the play offs every October ,  but our draft picks stayed in the nfl more then any other nfl teams...

thats said.... i hope he is good,  however a 1st rounder should be able to step in on a rotation position and at least hold his own.

    • the whole world knew we were running, if Burrow cant take a snap from center  and hand off then put Browning in , and whats with a delay of game penalty?
  9. LMAO,  it lists 3 bengals..  1 is PEDS .... duh really? and lists 3 players , the next is jeff Blake admitted everyone deflates footballs..  and the 3rd,  a challenge flag inside of 2 minutes which got switched to a timeout and the other team got caught with 12 players on league review when the refs here missed it..     .. and the rest are "all the nfl league"

They've had injuries derail some very promising seasons, plus they don't trust the OL with their new MVP QB.  It's made them extremely risk-averse.

Like they say, a ship is safe in harbor but that is not what ships are for...

oh i understand the concerns. just nothing prevented them for putting the starting OL out for a series or 2 with a back up qb behind them.
