  1. In a perfect world...Jake Browning will look like a competent QB2...or potential QB1A who would be an upgrade to at least 10 teams in the NFL.  He'll look good...and some of our younger guys will show growth and improvement...but after stirring battles each week the team falls JUSSSSSST short of pulling off a win...but feels like it was a bit of a "moral victory".

    Still lose out...or just win one...but look somewhat competent in losing.

  2. I’m shipping OUT from Boston!

    Through security and enjoying a drink (or two) in the Delta lounge and should be pulling back from the gate in about 50 minutes.

    Looking forward to being at the stadium on Sunday…didn’t think it was going to happen this year…

    Im trusting that my current streak of 5 winning games while in attendance will continue to grow 🤞

  3. I probably shouldn't be as sanguine about the game this Sunday...but I just feel this confidence that they are going to take care of business and likely blow the doors off Buffalo.  Last weekend was a clinic...even with a few missteps they were just firing on all cylinders.  Well, except for Irv Shit of course.

    Will be in town the following week for the Houston game...hope to get down to MOCFest...but will be going to game with my brother, my 12 year old nephew and my 77 year old parents.  Getting that entire crew to the game early may be herding too many cats. :)

    Wow...not just breakfast...but now we can get Skyline instead of Gold Star at the airport?  Woot woot!

    Very much in the Skyline>Gold Star camp...would tolerate GS at CVG just to get a fix when I was traveling home...but...

    Worked at the Eastgate Skyline for 2 1/2 years in HS...we were open until 2am on Fri/Sat and it could get REAL interesting after midnight. 😮

    And that ain't happening anytime soon. 16oz can of Domestic beer at Paycor is $11.50. And Lawshark can correct me if my calculations/assumptions are incorrect (as he may have some insight regarding this), 16oz can of domestic "wholesales" for around $0.85, so the profit margin on this alone is astronomical.

    Hey MOC...my current beer knowledge is limited since my folks sold the distributorship 5 years ago...but you are absolutely correct that it is one hell of a markup.  Your sub $1 guess for the wholesale cost of a single 16oz aluminum is probably still dead on.  If selling beer at the stadium was considered a financial product...they'd be up on usury investigation...

    Speaking of "see" and looking at the coverage map..

    looks like you will, indeed, get to see the game.

    Great news!

    Luckily I've had Direct TV with the Ticket since I moved to our new house 5 years ago...but...need to sign up I guess for the YouTube version today to make sure I'm definitely covered. :)

    Hope to make it for a home game this season from Maine...if I do hope to see you and the other regulars at MOC fest...

    The way for the Bengals to mitigate the Clowns pass rush is to get a score early, and perhaps a turnover, and then play with the lead.

    This kind of "ugly" win, where you run the ball and do safe dump offs, is the way to beat Cleveland.

    * Myles Garrett isn't any value to them if Burrow isn't taking 7 step drops. So I would only pass out of the shotgun as well.

    I would absolutely love to see the Bengals up by 14 half early...and have Burrow with a pedestrian stat line at the end of the game because they got up early and pounded the ball for the remainder of the game.

    Don't need fancy and flashy...just need a solid win and get out healthy.

  8. Wouldn't it be great for them to announce the contract extension a few hours before the Chiefs kickoff tomorrow?  Biggest NFL contract ever...sucking some attention from the game...announcers spending half the broadcast talking about how Burrow is now the highest paid and that Mahomes is 4th (5th?)?

    I think there is enough of that gamesmanship in Burrow where he would want to fuck with them a bit...

  9. My caveat on this is that if we lose the first game against Cleveland in a lackluster fashion (like we've been doing with Cleveland) then I buy into the slow start and revise this downward by 3 wins.

    BUT...I'm assuming they come out and blow the doors off Cleveland in week 1...I just think they put the full package together this year.

    @ Cleveland Browns--W

    Baltimore Ravens--W

    L. A. Rams--W

    @ Tennessee Titans--W

    @ Arizona Cardinals--W

    Seattle Seahawks--W

    @ San Francisco 49ers--W

    Buffalo Bills--W

    Houston Texans--W

    @Baltimore Raven--L

    Pittsburgh Stealers--W

    @Jacksonville Jaguars--W

    Indianapolis Colts--W

    Minnesota Vikings--W

    @Pittsburgh Stealers--L

    @ Kansas City Chiefs--W

    Cleveland Browns--L

    14-3, 1st seed locked in final week, rest people and lose to Cleveland, SB win.  Finally.

    If we lose week 1 and look discombobulated...then I pull back and figure we're more like 11-6 and hitting the road.  But still maybe winning the whole damn thing.

    Really want to see a good week 1...

    Brandon Allen made the 49ers roster so he's not available. I think we'll add another QB for the PS but probably not Siemian.

    I wouldn't be surprised if Ossai goes to IRR tomorrow but doubt Raymond Johnson and Gunter both make it through waivers. Dom Davis is likely to get claimed too.

    Maybe we sign a former Brown like Felton or Hurst to get some inside info?

    Up here in New England folks are shocked that the Pats cut QB Bailey Zappe...not saying we should get him...just enjoying the Pats descent into mediocrity or worse. 🤣 As you can imagine, being up here the last 20 plus years was jusssst a bit frustrating at times.  Zappe started a game or two last year for the Pats and the fans loved him versus Mac(Enroe) Jones at times...so watching the chaos unfold is...nice.

    I get a 'spidey-sense' that JB's contract will have a unique feature in it, it won't be standard fare so to speak. Something that pays him but allows flexibility to keep others. Maybe he is the first one with some kind of guaranteed amount or bonus amount tied to the total cap?

    If that happens...someone better do a wellness check on Mike Florio.  He might have an orgasm of such epic proportions that his heart will stop...
