December 3, 200421 yr comment_21472 Ya had to know I'd be all over this thread! Great pics, btw... UNC doesn't really scare me...we need to see where we are in terms of chemistry and player development. Our biggest nemesis IMHO is foul trouble for inside players, like Morris and Hayes. I would like to see Alleyne prove himself against quality opponents-he could be a huge asset or liability depending on how he's used this year. He looks real good, but so hard to judge in tune-up games against nobodies. I have faith in our bench-we're actually quite deep this year, with a lot of guys like Bobby Perry, Ravi Moss, etc waiting in the wings to give us a spark if any of the starters are sluggish. Azuibuke is a MAJOR concern. If he fails to put the ball on the floor and be aggressive, he gets frustrated quickly and forces up 3's that NEVER seem to go in for him. For a guy that averaged over FIFTY points a game in high school, he has been something of a disappointment in the scoring department-but hey! At least he plays great defense! And that's what UK's teams under Tubby have always stressed first-that stifling "D". Sparks is someone I need to see more of. He seems streaky-but he is a junior and shows flashes of being a very good all-around player. Do you know anything on the status of Sheray Thomas? I know he had surgery but I have no clue how many games he's expected to miss-we need him. He played very well in the second half of last season. All being said, I look forward to a physical, low scoring, high-turnover affair. I hope beyond all hope that Rondo plays as well against good teams as he did against our patsies. Man, that guy's got SKILLS! He is a basketball RAPIST when it comes to steals! And he's got hops for DAYS! He looks to be our highlight-reel guy. And Joe Crawford-step it up and crack the rotation!! If you couldn't recognize just how well KY played with freshman and sophomores against a senior and junior dominated squad, then you simply don't know basketball, or you hate Kentucky. Oh yeah, you hate Kentucky! That was the most encouraging loss suffered by KY that I think I've ever seen. They will learn much from this game....they have SO MUCH raw talent!
