* Bonds Ties the Babe !

Bonds is a beast and if he didnt hate the media (i dont blame him) then no one would say 1 word about him.

someone said they dont care who was 2nd, well everytime u talk about HRs, people mentioned Ruth b4 Aaron and that pisses me off. Bonds really hasnt done anything other than be the 3rd person to join the 700 club but people are acting like 714 is so big. I love Bonds, but unless he hits # 755 then i really dont care. His 500-500 will probably never be touched along with alot of his other records, but unless he hits 755 i dont care what his HR totals are. 700 was his last real important HR cuz it brought him into the new club

Media is a part of every sport and if he hates it so much he should just quit. I would rather him that then listen to his ass cry and bitch at the media. They are going to talk to you if your big in sports and criticize you quite a bit. If he can't get over that he will go down as the biggest baby in the sport of baseball also.

Babe Ruth used hot dogs, apple pie and beer.

Bonds used "Lindseed oil"...

Babe Ruth

He loved the fishing, especially chasing grouper in bucking seas with stout tackle. Perhaps grouper reminded him of himself, corpulent, a little homely, yet athletic and appealing. He'd bring them in and have a cook at the hotel fix them for supper. No gourmet, he was as happy wolfing down a half dozen ball-park hot dogs or pickled eggs. (apple pie was also available)

By all accounts, Ruth worked hard during spring training, but played just as hard away from the field. He was one of those people who didn't consider beer an alcoholic beverage. Alcohol meant whiskey. He drank a lot of beer and whiskey. He was married twice, though hardly a fanatic about his wedding vows, and usually found women willing to share his bed whether it was in the house he rented in the Old Northeast or rooms at the Don CeSar, the Flori-de-Leon, the Princess Martha or the Hotel Dennis, where he supposedly enjoyed staying in Room 310 because it was big enough to throw a party.

Barry Bonds

Oh wait... it was FLAXseed oil...

The San Francisco Chronicle reported in December that Bonds told the grand jury that he took steroids but he thought he was taking flax-seed oil and arthritis medication

Bonds said he took them...according to a source that no one will name. Would there be an investigation on whether or not he took them if he admitted?

No one knows what Ruth did and the mob could have had a hand in it too. The point is nothing is proven in stone and Bonds did it and deserves credit for doing it.

Dude, Bonds admitted to a GRAND JURY that he "unknowingly" took steriods.
Barry Bonds testified to a grand jury that he used a clear substance and a cream given to him by a trainer who was indicted in a steroid-distribution ring, but said he didn't know they were steroids, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday.

Bonds told a U.S. grand jury that he used undetectable steroids known as "the cream" and "the clear," which he received from personal trainer Greg Anderson during the 2003 season. According to Bonds, the trainer told him the substances were the nutritional supplement flaxseed oil and a pain-relieving balm for the player's arthritis.
Now whether he took them "unknowingly" or not is debatable.

But the FACT that he took them... is not debatable.

Talk about blind admiration. I'm interested as to why you love Bonds so much, but you need to step back from your man love and think objectively. You'll see that it's as obvious as the Super Bowl XL fix.

It will be one of the saddest day's in history when bonds breaks the babes record.
Bonds will get what he wants in breaking babes record and maybe he can retire right after he hits 715 just to beat the babe. Since he just wants to break the babes and not Hanks.
Umm, Babe doesn't have the Record. That belongs to Aaron.

All you who are so busy hating Bonds will regret it that they couldn't just sit back and appreciate the most powerful swing in baseball history. Lots of other guys roided and only one of them even got close to 73. When Barry took them it was NOT AGAINST THE RULES. My God, some of you act like he raped your daughter. Sit back and enjoy cause this won't happen again til ARod and Pujols get in range, and I seriously doubt either will approach Bonds HR rate, though they both may eclipse his total.

Hank Aaron, age 30-34: 168 HR in 5 years
Hank Aaron, age 35-39: 203 HR in 5 years

Barry Bonds, age 30-34: 186 HR in 5 years

well said. I agree with all that, but i pray Pujols doesnt near it cuz i hate that man. He needs to randomly start sucking all of a sudden in a couple of years.

I think those stats only help support theories on Bonds taking roids. If you break down 35-39, Bonds was hitting on average, 11 more homeruns per year then Aaron did, 11 homers a year is a lot. Especially when i would assume that Bonds had a riddicouls amount of less atbats they Aaron becuse of walks.

No its possible for someone to average 51.6 homers a year for a 5 year span after the age of 35 unless they are on something.

I'm not saying he wasn't on roids... I'm pretty sure he was. My point is that he's not the first guy ever to have a power surge in his late 30s and we can't just discount what he did in those seasons and assume he wouldn't have had a power surge without the roids.

I no that. I believe 714 is as big as 755 just for the simple fact that the babe did it with bigger parks and not as tight balls that were easier to hit.

I don't believe that Aaron ate, injected or snorted steroids of any kind.

How about you? You think the Hammer hid in a bathroom stall before a game and rubbed some mystery cream on his ass in an effort to transform those warning track shots into round trippers?
