Jeb Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006
they could suspend him for 4. say the league suspends him 2. thats 6 games no pay. that leaves 6 more games. deactivate him for 6. deactivate him all of next year and by the time he gets released/becomes an FA he wont have played in like 2 years and is useless. Ruin his career for him. Do the same with odell. Dont let them go elsewhere, ruin their careers. And by the time henry is able to play again, im sure he is banned from the NFL or in jail cuz he is a fuckin dumbass.
...and what would you do with O'Neal? Its his vehicle. He was too wasted to drive it. What do you do with him?
Guest mongoloido Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006
But how do we go from a nonchalant situation, where Marvin said Henry was just in the wrong place at the wrong time again ,to a, he's in the doghouse situation?
Perhaps he did or something nasty during the game. Perhaps it was his tradiness today. Dunno.

Things happen. We understand that. However, don't you dare walk out onto the thin ice like Odell and Chris have. We'll set you adrift in arctic cold too. This is your warning shot. Please understand the opportunity you've been given, and make better choices than your companions." At least, that's what I'd tell him.

Guest Coy Bacon Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Bottom line is that Marvin Lewis and company have really fucked up a bunch of draft picks.

Guest Coy Bacon Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 It appears that this team is on the verge of either exploding or imploding. Which do you think it will be?
Guest mongoloido Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 wow. the 2005 draft class has some sort of jinx on it Pollack Thurman Henry Ghiaciuc Kieft Perry Fanene Ghiaciuc better watch his ass. He's the only one still standing right now, isn't he?
DontPushMe Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006
I can only hope this is not true. If Chris gets tossed...our vaunted passing attack suddenly becomes almost ordinary. Teams will do exactly what NE did Sunday...put the CB's head up on CJ and TJ, and slide a safety to the widest side. They will then drop a backer into the 10 yard middle, and have the remaining safety roam between the hash marks. Since we have no TE worth a shit...and only straight-line KW and strained-balls no talent Chatman to fill any slot..we will get nothing over 10 yard shots. I don't want to hear about Pimp My SUV Odell McNeal either. Why doesn't ML rake his ass too? Stupid shit. Put Chris back on the field.
I agree completely.
Guest CrazyIrishman5 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Something to add to this,
Bengals sit Henry (and it might not be the last time) Cincy coach makes it clear the players he activates will be the ones he 'can count on.' By Chick Ludwig Staff Writer Tuesday, October 03, 2006 CINCINNATI  Are the Cincinnati Bengals preparing for life without wide receiver Chris Henry? From the look of things Sunday and the sound of things Monday, it sure appears that way. NFL teams consist of 53 players, but only 45 are activated for games. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis selected four wideouts  starters Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and backups Kelley Washington and Antonio Chatman  to play in Sunday's 38-13 home loss to New England. Lewis sat Henry, who caught two touchdown passes in a 28-20 victory at pissburgh, then got caught riding with suspended linebacker Odell Thurman, who was arrested for drunken driving. Henry has been arrested four times since December. On Monday, Lewis didn't refer to Henry's off-the-field behavior. The coach pointed his comments to Henry's on-the-field demeanor. "I didn't have anybody taunting, getting into anybody's face or anything like that," Lewis said. "I had guys doing it the way they're asked to do it. I didn't have to worry about a guy taking off his helmet on the field. That's a key thing. "Those are things we've got to continue to get straight all the time ... the poise that we talk about as professionals. I've got to know who I can count on when I can count on 'em." Lewis said it's important the players understand the concept that "this isn't about 'me.' This is about our team, and let's make sure we always do it right. I've got to continually work to get that across to our players." Henry wasn't available during the media's open locker room, and his agent, John D. Frederickson, didn't immediately return a telephone call. Asked if Henry understands the message, Lewis said: "I'm not singling out Chris. I only get a chance to dress 45 guys. We need to make plays on special teams. Antonio gives us an opportunity to do that. Down the line, we could have some tough decisions on who's going to get suited up  and that's a good thing."
Guest mongoloido Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Sounds like Henry gets to hang out in Washington's spot from last year.
Jeb Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Updated: Oct. 4, 2006, 1:54 AM ET Ravens returner Sams charged with DUI ESPN.com news services Baltimore Ravens return specialist B.J. Sams was charged with driving under the influence Tuesday morning for the second time in just over a year, the Baltimore Sun reported. Sams, 25, could face a four-game suspension from the NFL for his second violation if he entered the NFL's substance abuse program after his arrest in August 2005, according to the Sun. It was not known if Sams had entered the program last year. Sams was arrested in August 2005 for going 89 mph in a 55-mph zone and charged with driving under the influence, negligent driving and speeding, the Sun reported. He was put on probation for driving a vehicle while impaired. Sams, who ranks second in the league in kickoff returns, was stopped just before 2 a.m. Tuesday after his Chevrolet Tahoe had been swerving and nearly struck a vehicle, Maryland State Police told the paper. The state trooper reported a strong odor of alcohol before arresting Sams. "We're aware of the situation and we have talked to B.J.," team spokesman Kevin Byrne told the Sun. "We will now let due process take its course." Police did not tell the paper if Sams, who was alone in the vehicle, was given a breathalyzer test. The Ravens were off Tuesday and Wednesday and would not comment to the paper whether Sams faces a suspension. Sams, in this third season with the Ravens, has returned 11 punts for 119 yards and 9 kickoffs for 278 yards, including a 72-yard effort. An undrafted cornerback out of McNeese State, he ranks second in the NFL with an average of 30.9 yards per kickoff return and ninth in punt returns with a 10.8 yard-per-return average. Jeb Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Terrence Kiel Safety San Diego Chargers Oct. 3 News: Kiel, who will plead not guilty to five felony charges involving the shipment and possession of a codeine-based cough syup, will return to practice on Wednesday, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune. Scouts Take: All early indications are that Keil will be the starting lineup this Sunday Night vs. pissburgh. They need him back too, because they are playing a team in pissburgh that can pound the ball on the ground and Keil is excellent in run support. If the team were to keep him out this week it could have serious consequences in terms of their ability to defend the run vs. a team like pissburgh that has an excellent ground attack. Guest BengalBacker Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 You know, we haven't really talked about it much, but my guess is that Henry's going to jail. I'd say it's more likely than not.
Jeb Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I think its going to be interesting to see what these two teams do about their players. We get to sit back and watch this one. Its not our guys this time! This weekend: Ratbirds play Denver Stoolers play San Diego Cleveland play Carolina

85fanwilkes Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Today is judgement day for Henry...we will find out for sure what is future is today. Damn I hope he doesn't go to jail or get suspended for the year.
