INJURIES
CIN: C Rich Braham (knee) and WR Tab Perry (hip) out again. SS Dexter Jackson (ankle) looks like he’s got an uphill climb to play against his old mates since he didn’t practice Wednesday and Thursday. Same with SLB Rashad Jeanty (foot), although both were listed as only questionable heading into Friday.
TB: C John Wade (ankle) left practice Thursday but was listed as probable. CB Brian Kelly (foot) and DE Simeon Rice (shoulder) didn’t practice Wednesday and Thursday and were classified as questionable but are expected to play.

THE SERIES
Bucs lead 5-3, 1-1 in Tampa, 0-0 at Raymond James.

NOTEWORTHY
There is a Super Bowl flavor to this one. Marvin Lewis returns to the scene where as defensive coordinator his Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV by holding the Giants to only a kick return touchdown. ... Jon Gruden and Bengals defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan are reunited after serving in the same jobs at Oakland, and Chuckie put 48 points on Bresnahan’s Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII ... Bengals DT Sam Adams played in that Super Bowl for Oakland and Bengals SS Dexter Jackson won the MVP with two interceptions of Rich Gannon Gannon is in the booth Sunday as the CBS analyst ... The Bengals played the Bucs in that 2002 championship season in a game best known as Akili Smith’s last NFL start and the last game Chad Johnson didn’t have a catch in Tampa’s 35-7 mastery … Johnson (in his sixth season) needs just three to join Carl Pickens (530), Cris Collinsworth (417) and Isaac Curtis (416) as the only Bengals with 400 career catches. It took Pickens and Collinsworth seven years, Curtis 11 ... The last time the Bengals beat the Bucs, Boomer Esiason tied his club record with five touchdown passes in a 56-23 win at Riverfront 17 years ago this month. It’s the most the Bengals have ever scored against an NFC team ... After sweeping the NFC East in 2004 and the NFC North last season, the Bengals own an eight-game winning streak vs. the NFC.

NFL RANKINGS
CIN: Seventh in scoring, 16th in offense (16th rushing, 13th passing), 25th in defense (27th rushing, 15th passing), tied for eighth in turnover differential; TB: Tied for 30th in scoring, 26th in offense (28th rushing, 19th passing), 20th in defense (30th rushing, seventh passing); 27th in turnover differential.

COACHES
CIN: Marvin Lewis 30-22 (0-1 postseason) in his fourth season; TB: Jon Gruden 38-34 in fifth season, 78-62 overall in nine seasons.

THE WEATHER
The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio is calling for mostly sunny skies in Tampa with a high of 86 degrees and no chance of rain. Winds out of the east at nine to 15 miles per hour could gust up to 24.

I will be happy when I look out at the field today and the Ghia-pet isn't the starting center for the Bengals.
Whoever is playing whether it be guychick or shuffling the line around and putting in Whitworth at tackle and Steiny at center they better get it fixed in a hurry if we want to keep Palmer healthy, next week we face Julius Pepper and Carolina and a tough Falcon D after that.
whats your record when posting oldschooler?
2-1.

But technically my mo-jo was taken away before the Patriots game.
Someone (no names mentioned) posted the game thread to early,
then deleted it and made me start a new thread.

So actually, I`m 2-0 9soon to be 3-0) if things aren`t thrown out of whack... :headbang:

I have no clue.

I posted quite a few game threads last year too.
And obviously, the Bengals won more than they lost...
Simmons out , Steinbach in
By GEOFF HOBSON
October 15, 2006

11:30 a.m.

TAMPA, Fla. _ As expected, Eric Steinbach made his first NFL start at center Sunday here at Raymond James Stadium as the Bengals tried to shore up their pass protection against the winless Bucs.

But, unexpectedly, middle linebacker Brian Simmons was benched with a neck injury, giving rookie Ahmad Brooks his first NFL start in the middle.

Cincinnati’s beleaguered run defense also prepared for another test without starters Dexter Jackson (ankle) at strong safety and Rashad Jeanty (foot) at strong-side linebacker, both deactivated by head coach Marvin Lewis for the second straight week.

In one of the efforts to cut down sacks that have reached 14 in the past three games, Steinbach moved from left guard to replace Eric Ghiaciuc and rookie Andrew Whitworth made his second start at guard as the Bengals continue to try and find a way to cope without injured 13-year center Rich Braham.

It’s the first time Steinbach has worked at center for any significant time in a game since he played the position for the first time ever in an emergency situation during a 16-10 victory last Oct. 2. against Houston.
